Regarding the chest, it was probably just low priority.

You know how it is as you've probably been in a similar situation. You have that monumental task that's super important and you need to have it work seamlessly before a deadline. You're not gonna take a day to implement and test something else.

If you are going to switch focus to something else, you're going to focus on the next important tasks.

And when you get to the trivial parts you do as many as you can.

The important thing is that they ultimately implement them.

Personally, I don't consider a game complete til DLC and patches are released. It's the reality of the situation. A game being released with everything will never ship.

You are probably right on this and I would bet as we see more social content it will become even more apparent. Not necessarily a bad thing either.

KOTOR

ME1

ME3

DA-O

BG1

BG2

ME2

DA-II

JE

NWN-Hordes

NWN-OC

Based mostly on how much I remember enjoying the game as I played and many are interchangeable with the one above or below it as it's very hard to make this kind of list. I'd say the only one that really wasn't enjoyable is the official NWN campaign. That was crap.

Not finished DA-I yet, but it's not going to be in the top 5.

Mass Effect 2 (my favorite Bioware game to date)

Mass Effect 3

Inquisition (doubt I'll be playing again anytime soon now that the item dupe is patched, may even trade it in)

Mass Effect 1 (the story saved this game for me, lackluster combat)

Origins (combat sucks moreso than Mass Effect 1 imo, ended up returning this game rather quickly after a few hours of playing)

I feel like I need 2 lists.

These games in order.

BG2

DA2

DAO

DAI

And these games in order. (But I'm not really a shooter/action fan.)

ME2

Jade Empire

ME

I dunno why. They make sense in my head that way. And I probably enjoyed JE more than DAI. Dunno.

This is why lists are hard.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was developed by Obsidian, not Bioware. The same applies to Star Wars KOTOR 2 and I don´t know if any other game.

As of the moment:

Highest ranked:

1. ME1

2. SW: Kotor

3. DA2 (I know, I know, this game is ranked low on many people's list, but I still liked it)

___________

The rest:

4. DAI (Not a bad game, but I don't know exactly where to put it yet. Since I'm having a better first time through than I had with ME2 or ME3, i'm putting it over them on this list)

5. ME2 (With DLC)

6. ME3 (With DLC)

7. ME2 (Standard Game)

8. ME3 (Standard Game)

I haven't played enough of DA:O to put it on the list. Planning to someday.

I know its all subjective..

But i'm genuinely shocked at how many have Mass Effect 3 as the top spot, it just boggles my mind, i played it till the end of earth sequence then uninstalled, for me it was so bad, so linear, so limited, so many cut scenes.. i just couldn't go on..

And i absolutely loved Mass Effect 1 and a bit less so 2 (it was far more dumbed down).

I'm just :o

The genophage - Mordin.

'someone else would have gotten it wrong'...

That puts it in the genius camp, even if it didn't always stay there...

Jade Empire is still the winner for me, but Inquisition comes second.

Not only did I enjoy the gameplay and story, but I thought they picked a really interesting theme for Inquisition. Faith is something most games either avoid entirely, or push far enough into the realms of fantasy to make it comfortable and distant. It was neat to come into it, having grown up in a hyperreligious background, and see people/arguments that I recognized. It made the fantasy religions seem genuine, in a way I've never seen in fiction.

That said, it's really hard to top a game featuring:

  • elephant demons
  • getting a guy to confess to stealing a teahouse via booze math
  • Nathan Fillion playing a spoiled evil kid
  • transforming into an enormous jade golem
  • half of the conversations happening in a conlang made up by an actual linguist
  • Kang the Mad
  • Kang the Mad
  • Kang the Mad

... hmmm, maybe the real reason I like Inquisition is because Cole and Solas remind me of Wild Flower and Sagacious Zu. Although maybe Solas is more of a Sun Li? Suppose we'll find out in future games.  :D

List includes games DLC's.

1. Mass Effect 2

2. Neverwinter Nights

3. Dragon Age Origins/Awakenings

4. Mass Effect 3

5. SWKOTOR

6. Badur's Gate 1/2

6. Dragon Age 2

7. Mass Effect 1

8. Dragon Age Inquisition

9. SWTOR

Why is DAI ranked so low... lack of drama; lack of compelling story; too much of the bad that goes with MMO's. Really, if I wanted to play a MMO, I'd run back to WOW. It was, and still is the best MMO out there. Eve being a close second. Why would I ever want to play a single player MMO?

DAI might rank higher later depending on the DLC's and patches.

I never understood the love for that game, Dragon Age: Origins is much better imo. I hated the peek-a-boo gameplay where you just went into cover, shot, then back into cover. They should've copied Gears of War a little more with dives or maybe crawling to change it up. I also hated how you can revive squad mates but they couldn't revive you.

Someone liked a game i didn't like and put the game I liked the most on the bottom of the list . QQ much?

Likes and dislikes are SUBJECTIVE, there is no right or wrong answer.

WTF is wrong with people? I swear people's self esteem is tied to some perverse validation of their own subjective desires. They just can't handle people not sharing their own likes or dislikes.

1. ME2 and KOTOR

2. ME1

3. DA:O

4. DA:I and DA2

5. ME3

6. SWTOR

So, tied for fourth? I'm indecisive. :B

On the number one spot, KOTOR would probably pull ahead if I simply had to choose, but ME2 was such an amazing experience of a game, it just can't go anywhere else. I love (or at least like) every game on the list, and I know I put DAI higher than many, but I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. Replayed it more than I did ME3 anyway, which I also enjoyed. Depending on the LDC quality, it'll likely pull ahead to claim the fourth spot for itself, unless something catastrophically bad should happen of course. xD I definitely get the criticism, though, even if its issues don't bother me as much as some.

Ahh, these are always tough for me to do, just because of the whole nostalgia factor. But I'll give it a shot

1) Mass Effect 3: The Citadel DLC pushes this to #1 for me. Great DLC, and there were so many good storylines in this game that I loved (the krogan and Mordin, the geth vs. quarians, Javik, Bromance with Garrus and my romance with Liara that spanned all 3 games)

2) KOTOR: My first Bioware game. Still love it to death. Jolee Bindo is one of my top 5 favourite characters of all time, and I just loved exploring the different worlds in the Star Wars universe

3) All of the Dragon Age games: Now I know it's pretty cheap to put all three of the DA games at the same spot on a list, but hear me out.

DA:O was great. I loved this new world that had been created, I loved the different cultures of the dwarves, elves, and qunari. And the companions were great (as usual). But the combat was pretty damn bad, especially by today's standards, and I feel like they could have done more to make the Blight feel like more of a threat (the Deep Roads and the Dead Trenches were the only point of the game where I got that feeling.

For DA2, yes, it was clearly rushed. That same bloody cave popping up everywhere got annoying real quick. But, I also feel that DA2 had some of the best characters in the series. Varric, Aveline, and Merrill were absolutely amazing, and I love each of them to death. Further, I felt that the personalities that you gave Hawke were awesome, in particular the sarcastic one was well done.

Finally, Inquisition. Great, amazing game. Outside of the horrid tac cam, I felt combat was fairly well-done. The environments were gorgeous, and the companions were top-notch. The downside? This is perhaps the first Bioware game where I did not romance anyone (I play as a straight-male pc). The options available simply didn't appeal to me, I just felt 'meh' towards them. Not because they were badly done, or 'wrong', I just didn't hold any strong emotions towards them. Also, the main antagonist was incredibly underwhelming, and not enough attention was paid towards him.

4) Jade Empire: Love this game, love the environments, the story, the combat, everything. But every time I play it, I just can't help but feel that it was too short, that there should have been more.

5) Mass Effect 2: Shadow Broker DLC, aside from the Citadel for ME3, is one of the best DLC's ever. Of all time. Anyways, this game also felt too short for me, but namely in the companion interaction area. For the love of god Garrus, stop calibrating those guns and TALK TO ME!!!!

6) Mass Effect 1. Love this game, but having recently replayed it, the VA is pretty cringe-worthy. Thankfully, Mark Meer improved with each game (to the point now where he is one of my favourite VA's), but man was it bad in some parts. And the combat still clearly needed some working on.

All in all though, nothing beats a Bioware game for me, and I'm guaranteed to enjoy whatever it is they put out. They've yet to disappoint me

For me:

ME3 with all of the dlcs and DAI are tied for first place for me.
DAO is in third.
ME2
DA2. I liked what they did with a story that wasn't all about saving the world. It could have been a lot better if they had more time.
ME1. I liked the story, but it was really short, and the combat was pretty rough. Some of the exploration was okay, but a lot of the planets felt almost the same.

Still, they're all relativley high on my list of all of the games I have played.
