*snip*

I never understood the love for that game, Dragon Age: Origins is much better imo. I hated the peek-a-boo gameplay where you just went into cover, shot, then back into cover. They should've copied Gears of War a little more with dives or maybe crawling to change it up. I also hated how you can revive squad mates but they couldn't revive you.

Very odd favorites list coming up :P

1- Dragon Age Inquisition

2- Mass Effect 3 (with Extended Cut DLC though, I dislike the original ending greatly, but with that DLC my ending is perfect)

3- Star Wars: The Old Republic (Objectively it's not a better game, but I've enjoyed it so much; its everything I wanted in an MMORPG)

4- Mass Effect 2

5- Dragon Age 2

6- Dragon Age Origins

7- Mass Effect 1

8- Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

9- Neverwinter Nights 2 (8 and 9 aren't bad games at all, I'm just not into old school games evidently)

EDIT: #9 forgot it's by Obsidian lol

I've only played ME trilogy and DA trilogy.

1 - Mass Effect 2 (Suicide Mission is the BEST sequence in a game imo)

2 - Dragon Age Inquisition (haven't finished yet, but the finding of Skyhold and the dragon fights... )

3 - Mass Effect 3

4 - Mass Effect 1

5 - Dragon Age Origins

6 - Dragon Age 2

Origins

Mass Effect 3

Inquisition

Baldurs Gate 2

NWN.

Ice Wind Dale, while using the Bioware Infinity Engine, is technically NOT a Bioware game. Otherwise, it would be on this list, likely at #1.

All of the Mass Effect 3 love in this thread.

c8aba52d3764385b60c866427b626e204aab85af

1. Mass Effect 2 - Huge leap in combat quality from ME1, great character cast and mission premise (with loyalty missions) and still the defining end mission for a BioWare game.

2. Mass Effect 3 - Perfect character moments, the best TPS gameplay I've played, reintroduced customization elements lacking in ME2, important decisions, fantastic music.

3. Dragon Age: Inquisition: Superior action combat to 1 and 2, beautiful world, compelling and meaningful thematically, fantastic characters, dat Skyhold.

4. KotOR - A twist that defined videogame twists, HK-47, Bastila, light saber duels, best thing Star Wars since Empire Strikes Back

5. Dragon Age: Origins - Great cast, does everything else except combat well but nothing exceptional.

6. Baldur's Gate II - This would be a lot higher if I didn't have a distaste for point and click gameplay and Vancian casting. The writing, world structure, and RPG elements are top notch.

7. Dragon Age 2 - Had this not been rushed it would have been way higher. Unfortunately it was rushed, and this caused several significant issues in the game.

8.  Mass Effect - Bad combat, clunky RPG mechanics, empty worlds (emptier even than DA: I's) and underdeveloped characters. Great plot and world building.

9. Jade Empire - The worst combat BioWare has done. Not many interesting locations. Good sidequests but character dialogues are rushed to compensate for its short length.

10. Baldur's Gate - Doesn't have the good writing of BG2, several other elements undercooked.

I have only played the ME series and DA series:

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 1

(yeah I just like Mass Effect more and like to view it as one game)

Dragon Age Origins

Dragon Age 2

Dragon Age Inquisition

DA:I is still my GOTY of 2014 and a pretty good game BUT the story was just way too short and the annoying and generic side quests killed some enjoyment

here's hoping for some long Story DLC's maybe it will be higher then

Dragon Age:Origins (+ Awakening)

Kotor

Jade Empire

Mass Effect 1

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age 2

Mass Effect 2

Inquisition may be the last Bioware game for me. Kotor was the first- and it blew me away. Origins is probably my favourite game ever.

Mass Effect 1 was still okay, but the second one was too much of a shooter for my liking. I didn't even buy the third. Dragon Age 2 made me disappointed beyond words. Inquisition isn't that bad but it's not great either. *sigh*

Mass Effect 2

Knights of the Old Republic

Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 1

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Dragon Age: Origins

Baldur's Gate 1

Dragon Age 2

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Jade Empire

DA:I would be 2 spots higher if not for so many bugs. Less interesting companions and a less engrossing story, IMO, would keep it from bypassing DA:O.

I don't think that Bioware has released an objectively "bad" game, at least as far as I'm concerned. Full disclosure, I haven't played Sonic.

That said - Inquisition handily rounds out my top three, along with Origins and Mass Effect 1.

For me at least its hard to say, I know some people hold some of the older games up really high on their personal lists, but going back to them many of them don't stand up anymore for me.

The reasons why I like the games:

Jade Empire: The setting, but falls apart for me in the second half of the game loses its charm.

Mass Effect 1: I really liked the story, but I never liked The Reapers for they just seemed too much and going back to it the combat is painful.

Mass Effect 2: I liked all the character stories, but it felt like a collection on unrelated short stories and not enough to do with The Reapers and I really missing a lot of the customization removed from Mass Effect 1.

Mass Effect 3: I really enjoyed the game until after the assault on the Illusive Man's base, then it felt like they crammed a full game of content into a two hours. (If the game ended at the end of the assault of the illusive man's base it probably would be my favorite game).

Dragon Age: Origins: Again a really good story with pseudo-open world, but I hated The Deep Roads and The Fade, the skill system wasn't my favorite either.

Dragon Age 2: I liked they fact they tried to do something other then the typical Power Fantasy, but the raiding enemies lost me.

Dragon Age: Inquisition: I enjoy the main story mission and the combat is a nice zone between the first two games, but the side quests feel lacking.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: I liked the story, but it felt really spread thin to make it into a MMO

I have played Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur's Gate, but its been so long I am not sure if I am remembering them correctly anymore or just want I want to remember.

1. Mass Effect 2
2. Dragon Age: Origins
3. Mass Effect
4. Star Wars: the Old Republic
5. Dragon Age: Awakwning
6. Mass Effect 3
7. Dragon Age 2 = Dragon Age: Inquisition

Inquisiton would have been #1 if it had Origins-style side quests and a bit better of a main story/villain. I barely consider it to be in the same genre as the other games on the list. It's not much of a "define your character, deep player dialog" RPG, but just rather a "generic open world" RPG a la Skyrim, Amalur, etc.

NWN2 is an Obsidian game. Figured I'd mention.

So it was. I will still leave it there for reference. :)

Entertaining game with possibly the worst conclusion I have experienced since The Exorcist III....

    Dragon Age: Origins (+ Awakening)

    Mass Effect 2

    Mass Effect

    Dragon Age II

    Dragon Age: Inquisition

    Mass Effect 3

ME2 for the squadmate/loyalty missions. DA2 I put ahead of DA:I for what I felt was the more focused story in that game.
