I said mods included because I was thinking of KOTOR 2's restored content mod. I forgot KOTOR 2 wasn't a Bioware game, lol.
Where does DA:I rank among Bioware games you played?

For me its..
1. Dragon Age Oranges-story companions,romances and happy ending/mods amazing
2. Dragon Age Oranges-story companions,romances and happy ending/mods amazing
3. Dragon Age Qusition-story, companions, romance with Cutie Cully and happy ending
4. Kotor- story, small romance, happy ending
5. ME 1 - story, companions, Kaiden (mmhmm), happyish ending
6. ME2 - story, companions, (terrible romance options for me) ok ending
7. SWTOR- Storylines fun to play, some nice romances and nice endings, good crafting and economy (but terrible cosmetic appeal for mmo)
8. DA2-terribly depressing story, too many deaths of loved ones and some terrible companions, awful crazy people to romance.
9. Jade Empire- was ok..only one playthrough.

15. ME3- very disappointing in story, depressing events and horrific ending, Kaiden left my character feeling very neglected too.

KOTOR - my favorite bioware game.
NWN - really enjoyed this one overall. had a lot of fun with the game at release.
DAO - my favorite of the DA series
JE - surprised this game isnt mentioned more.. its waaaay underrated.
ME1 - IMO, the best game of the series, and i enjoyed most of the RPG mechanics.. yes, the inventory system was convoluted, but they didnt need to remove it completely in ME2.
DAI - this would actually be my top game if the control scheme for the PC was like the previous games in the series.
SWTOR - the 1-50 content is actually some of their best.
DA2 - actually a really great game IMO, and the control scheme here should have been implemented in DAI.. at least on PC.
ME3 - though the ending isnt as bad as some make it out to be, it IS a let down for me, as i still believe the previous two games dont matter. in the end it still comes down to a red/green/blue choice. that being said, i enjoyed the mechanics more in this game than ME2.
ME2 - this needed to be classified as a shooter.. not an RPG.. because MECHANICALLY its not an RPG. very little in the way of customizable stats.. barely any inventory.. etc. this game was basically Gears of War with a story. and speaking of the story.. i dont think it was as strong IMO.. i would rank it almost as low as the ME3 ending. also, that last boss was just stupid.

NWN1 - get away from the OC, and go check out the mods, PW's, or possible campaigns out there. Closest thing to PnP I have experienced in any cRPG.

At that point, I'm not playing NWN. I'm just playing a mod. Imo, the actual game itself should be good.

I am a person who values certain things in games. Those are: Interesting Characters, Engaging Storylines, Plot Presentation, Visual Quality, and Ease of Gameplay.
You can argue some of the former bioware games had the first 3 down, and you can argue they don;t, but I will not tolerate anyone trying to argue that visual quality or the gameplay for these were things done well. Only hardcone fanboys and fangirls can, and their opinions are already far too bias to matter.
Dragon age inquisition feels like it takes elements from the previous games, not just dragon age games but also some mass effect games as well, and even a bit of kotor's elements in story, and blends them together into a nice mix. It feels familiar, but different enough that the familiarity doesn't seem stale. Managing to feel like its own unique product without feeling like it ignored too much from its predecessors.
Note: this is my opinion, and therefore isn't bound to actual facts. If you disagree, then that is perfectly fine and you are perfectly correct in doing so.

The 'actual game' is pretty much a toolset, the original campaign nothing more than a demonstration.

The interrupt system is a crime against roleplaying.I didn't realize you disliked ME2 so much.
And I also disliked the mechanical changes from ME (like ammo, and perfect aiming), plus the linear level design. As a result, I wasn't even tempted to try ME3. ME2 lost Mass Effect a customer.

What? The interrupt system is the best thing to come to role plying in a while. It sucks on the first play through, when you have no idea what it's going to do, but after you know, it's amazing. The interrupt system is a crime against roleplaying.

I wish they would keep expanding the interrupt feature. Maybe you press the interrupt button and the scene pauses and you are given a description of the thing or things you can do before commiting to an action.
