1. Jade Empire
2. Dragon Age Inquisition
3. Dragon Age Origins
4. Dragon Age 2
5. Mass Effect 2
6. KOTOR
7. BG2 (unmodded anyway)
8. Mass Effect 1
9. Mass Effect 3
1. Jade Empire

4. Dragon Age 2
5. Mass Effect 2
6. KOTOR
7. BG2 (unmodded anyway)
8. Mass Effect 1
9. Mass Effect 3
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragon Age: Origins
Knights of the Old Republic
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 3
Dragon Age ][
1. DA: Origins
2. Mass Effect 2
3. NWN- only rated higher for the HotU expansion and all the great modules the community made and still make (very few but they do exist!)
4. KOTOR
5. Mass Effect 1
6. Dragon Age Inquisition
7. Mass Effect 3
8. Dragon Age 2
9. Jade Empire
I had a very late start getting into BG and BG2, I've tried playing the games but have yet to finish them.
My list would probably look like this:
BG2
DA:O
BG
KOTOR
ME2
SWTOR
ME3
ME
NWN
However, I enjoyed games a lot more a few years ago, and that might affect this list a bit. Never took to NWN, though.

KotOR
Jade Empire
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Mass Effect 3
That spin-off game where you played as Hawke
^ThisRight now...
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age Inquisition.
Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 1
Dragon Age Awakening
Dragon Age 2
Dragon Age Origins.
The need to respond on a timer, with no idea what will happen, is just appalling. What? The interrupt system is the best thing to come to role plying in a while. It sucks on the first play through, when you have no idea what it's going to do, but after you know, it's amazing.
I wish they would keep expanding the interrupt feature. Maybe you press the interrupt button and the scene pauses and you are given a description of the thing or things you can do before commiting to an action.
Hmmmmm. This is tough. On the whole, I like everything they've made except the Neverwinter Nights OC.
1. Baldur's Gate 2. But not Throne of Bhaal.
2. Dragon Age: Origins
2. Dragon Age 2
2. Dragon Age: Inquisition. (Provisionally. I ended up loving Origins and DA2 equally for different reasons, and I fear the exact same thing is going to happen with DAI.)
4. Baldur's Gate 1
5. Mass Effect 2
6. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
7. Jade Empire
8. Star Wars: The Old Republic
9. Mass Effect 3
10. Mass Effect 1
11. Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal. Disappointing end to what is otherwise my favourite game. Watcher's Keep is still great, though.
12. Neverwinter Nights. Partially redeemed by Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark, but still their weakest game by far for me.
DAO (with DAA)
DA2
DAI
But PLEASE don't take that as I don't like DAI I really like it. It just didn't have the emotional hook that both DAO and DA2 have.
Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age 2
Mass Effect 3
SWtOR
I haven't finished Jade Empire yet, or KotOR so left them off.
1. ME3
2. ME2
3. DAII
4. DAI
5. ME1
6. DAO
Hmm, well. I need more time with DAI since it's barely been out two months, but at this stage:
1. DA2
2. DAI
3. DAO
4. NWN
5. NWN2
6. Jade Empire
The need to respond on a timer, with no idea what will happen, is just appalling.
I like the idea of being able to intervene proactively in conversations, but we needed more information about what was going to happen, and we needes the option to have the scene auto-pause when an interrupt opportunity was available (to avoid us missing it through inattention).
But when I raised these issues before ME2's release, the devs told me point blank that we were supposed to be surprised by the content. So they clearly weren't making that game for me.
Once I saw how it was actually implemented, I abandoned the franchise.
In theory, an interrupt system could make a game better. As implemented in ME2, it made the game worse, and some of its problems were apparently intentional.
I think both issues become irrelevant on subsequent playthroughs once you know where, when, and what each interrupt is and does. At that point, they're really great for role playing. But that first play through does matter, so this is how the mechanic could be improved, in my opinion:
The conversation automatically pauses when an interrupt becomes available, although you can turn this off and have a timed prompt appear instead. A modal window/wheel/list/etc. pops up either automatically or when you press the right button based on the aforementioned configuration. The window lists all of the actions you can take:
1) Push through the window
2) Shoot in the head
3) Punch in the gut
4) Nothing/Back
Inquisition brings the hover = more info option to the table, so hovering over each would offer a longer description of exactly what you'll do.
1) You push the mercenary through the glass window behind him, and he falls to his death
2) You draw your weapon and shoot the mercenary in the head
3) You punch the mercenary in the gut, leaving him winded but alive
4) The conversation just continues as normal
You could even have nonviolent interrupts, like:
5) Interject - You being angrily talking over the mercenary until he stops talking and gives you a chance to speak
At which point you would be given normal dialog options, perhaps something different than what you would have gotten if you let the conversation continue and waited for control of the conversation to return to you naturally.
Obviously not every interrupt would have this many options, most would probably still just have the one renegade and one paragon choice. But the framework/presentation of those choices would now allow for more options and also be more friendly to use the first time around.

so you abandoned the franchise because of the interrupts? has to be the lamest reason ever
List probably goes as follows;
Dragon Age: Origins
Baldur's Gate 2
Dragon Age: Inquisition
KOTOR
Mass Effect 3 (sans ending)
Mass Effect 2
Baldur's Gate
Jade Empire (almost solely thanks to Sun LI)
Mass Effect
Dragon Age 2
Of those, everything above DA2 is at least good or decent.

I'd say...
1 - BG2
2 - ME2
3 - KotOR
4 - DAO (without DAA, would drop one rank if included)
5 - ME1
6 - NWN + add-ons (mainly HotU)
7 - Jade Empire
----- This is the line between the "good" games (that I'll replay with pleasure) and the "not so good" ones (that I don't really want to play again).
8 - DAI
9 - BG1 + add-ons (would probably drops one place without them)
10 - DA2
11 - ME3
As you can see, I've not been convinced by their recent productions. And as you see, I see BG as massively overrated.
I know these days are entirely subjective but at the same time I just find in mind-blowingly unfathomable that anyone could consider DA2 as their number 1 Bioware game ever!
I just... how?!

Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 2
DA:O
Mass Effect
DA:I
DA2
1) Mass Effect 2 (Might be number 1 overall in games for me.)
2) Kotor (Still one of my all time favorite twists in a game. Not to mention great combat, cool story, some awesome companions... minus ****** Carth)
3) DA:O (Really is an awesome game)
4) tied ME1 and ME3 (Forgetting the ending, Mass Effect 3 was still a pretty damn good game, and ME 1 was the first Bioware game I played.)
5) Jade Empire (This thread reminded me that I really need to go through this one again.)
6) another tie DA2 and DAI (Actually love both games quite a bit)
7) BG2 (Blasphemy, I know. It's not on the bottom because I hate it or anything, I actually think it's hell of a lot of fun. I just finished it for the first time a few months back, using the Advanced Edition. Good story, great villain. My only real problem with it was the world. I've never been a big fan of the Forgotten Realm, and that kind of turned me off. Still, I can definitely see the appeal, and why so many people love this game..)

Play Vanguard!
I'd rather play rogue-archer nowadays.
