Cool story yo. I would expect that typical approach. Seems rather boring to me.

If it does, I really hope we can be a magister. Oh hey, I have a sticker stuck to my leg.

This is black Thedas, the home of the Imperium, I'm the greatest, represent the Magisterium, no lyrium for me, I cast all my spells endlessly, no quelling my spells, templars, can't you tell that killer bee is the untouchable Tevinter, so hot I bring summer to winter, fireballs make your shields splinter, I'll make ***** orlesians wimper, simmer down? Never, clown, tear white thedas to the ground, I'll get my flesh, pound for pound, blood magic's going down!

I can't help but feel that if we can play a magister, it will technically be a former magister through some calamity that gets the mage down to the same level as a warrior or rogue. No Magisterium for you sucker. Now you gotta scrape your way back via heroics.

BORING!!! OP sounds like a typical cliche goody-two shoe player.

I'm gonna spice it up and try to become no.1 Blood mage and Magister. Oh, and kill some Qunari along the way.

Sorry, OP. It may be just me, but for once I wanted to play as selfish, self-serving, ruthless character who's out there for him/herself, and not hero who make a bad decision or being forced to be goody-two shoe.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm really sick of "heroes" or "the chosen one" story set to save the world. The story doesn't have to be about saving the world to be epic. For once I want to play as power hungry Magister, Tevinter supremacist who wish to see the Imperium restored to former glory day, or slave with magical talent who'll rise to power.

The KOTOR approach.

If it did, I wonder how they would work in the race/class angle. The only way you could have a magister 'origin' story is if you were a human mage. Maybe an elf mage, at a push. I wonder what the other classes and races would be though.

You certainly wouldn't be a Dalish elf, since Dorian says the clans tend to stay away from Tevinter. So perhaps a slave? Dwarves would be interesting. Qunari would get all kinds of sh*t from the Tevinters, I imagine.

There was a sticker, stuck to my leg. Take off your mask and you will be able to read the screen better.

No, wait! Don't! You will reveal your secret identity to everyone!

I want the next game to take place in Tevinter and probably the Anderfels as well.  Throw in a little Seheron as well if they can.

Probably. You can already be a random merc turned messiah of the Southern Chantry. Why not a magister? Perhaps the next in line for the throne of Kal-Sharok too. Just for kicks.

I think if I bother playing this, I'll make an elf. I get the feeling the elven lore is going to get very interesting.. (not that it already isn't).

If you fix Tevinter, what would be the source of all evil in Thedas? Where would the hammy evil guys come from?

I'm gonna spice it up and try to become no.1 Blood mage and Magister. Oh, and kill some Qunari along the way.

Oooh, I wonder, if you go down the evil magister route, would there be an option to go to the Black City. It's not like you can create the darkspwan again, so no downside :D

I highly doubt that putting a player in the shoes of slave-owner would sell many copies. Audience is very touchy on this subject, and for the right reasons.

One could hope.. but I'm not sure what bioware is capable of anymore.

Look at you wanting to exert PC onto a fictional setting to justify your views. Dunmer enslaved Khajiit and Argonians like Kentucky KKK founders and it's the second highest selling TES game.

Guess you haven't done enough research to back up your bullshit.

What are you going to do with slaves anyways? :D

Wait... don't answer that.

Yeah I don't care about slaves. But taking out slavery because it might offend someone's sensibilities is taking a dump on Dragon Age. I want Dragon Age, not Dragon Age that's politically correct because some people won't buy it if it isn't.

Slavery is a staple of Tevinter culture. If it's not present then we might as well be in Antiva or Tevinter-lite. That's not to say that I want a game centered on slavery or that I think it's cool. I just think BW shouldn't alter lore to keep people happy. It's a sellout move.

First we do not have only Tevinter to explore they can use for the next games everything,    and for now they have never allow player to have slaves, so we dont know the way in wich they will handle this, slaves of the imperium are usually used for blood magic and some other bad stuff it's not just like to have them around  to clean and  cook for the player. The game will be centered on slavery because in the imperium this is the rule slaves are everywhere  If this can be a problem for someone or maybe even many players they will think about this before to release the game.

In  the imperium slavery cannot be taking out because maybe will be the main plot of a DA game on the imperium.

I have played character like this with every DA game this far though..
