The fact that the Sith warrior class (who owns a slave in her/his story) in SWTOR is very popular disprove your claim.
I don't think its popular because of the slave tho.

Get over the slavery... we are gods among men. We don't worry about petty politically correct crap. let em deal with the aftermath this is fantasy... Our realm.

I never said it was popular because of the slave-owning. I was only protesting against the notion that putting the player in the positionion of a slave owner would automatically result in the game being hated/not bought at all. Because the Sith Warrior is a slave owner and still the story is well liked despite that fact.
fhs... you couldn't be more wrong. to play directly to the most cerebral fantasy dwellers you create something of substance that can't be ignored. People are going to soapbox themselves with anything they can get their hands on. Something you'll find in life is that there's an element that makes a pretty good living off of being offended. Might as well stay true to a vibrant and brash story. In the end if it's not dark where darkness is needed what good is the toil of light. It should have the balls of the written hand not a Hollywood malaise over darker elements.

Well, if they do put slavery in, then they should pull no punches. We should have scenes where families are split from each other and crying. There should rape and the most atrocious depictions of mental, physical, and sexual abuse. Especially on children.
Lets do this. See how cool it is. Nothing should trump video game entertainment. ![]()
Dragon Age is the visual interpretation of true RPG. True fantasy lore. You can't immerse yourself in a plight where soft words are spoken. If I am to rebel or kill, I should have anger and fear in my heart. Not on the fence between unlocked items.
and for now they have never allow player to have slaves,
Orana can be Hawke's slave. Not that there's much interaction with her, but still, it's a precedent...

They should have had a scene where you coerce her into your room.
Hawke could be like Jefferson and Sally Hemings.
I just plan on playing a Qunari that kills Tevinter things and stuff in the inevitable Tevinter game.
implying that we won't drown Seheron in Qunari blood.
implying that we won't drown Seheron in Qunari blood.
That would be most wasteful, dear. Gather every drop in personalized vials and dispense to impoverished Laetan. Now even the lower class mages can partake in Tevinter's oldest national pastime.
If the next game takes place in Tevinter, I hope they will bring back origins stories, because there's a lot of potential there. I think it would be very interesting to start either as child of powerful magister or as a pet slave-guardian like Fenris.
If its like that then I don't really mind. So long as it doesn't turn into "hurr hurr rape slave" button.
Because I'm sure there are some people who would enjoy an option like that.
I am fairly certain that button is obligatory for the "magister experience". Oh well, I'm sure you can trust bioware to make a "hurr hurr rape slave in a tasteful way button", no?
As for your second line, it always baffled me how someone could care what sort of stuff people enjoy in the fictional narrative of their electronic toys.

Because I take pleasure in the idea that they dont get what they want.
Ah, Schadendreude. That, I can get behind.

Sounds great. I've already killed 1000's of mooks and sprayed myself in their blood. What's watching a bunch of abuse gonna do to my character at this point?
"freeing the slaves"
Oh you people are so dull.
Anyway, I'll be a shameless slave-owning magister. But I won't like slaves. Not because I think its immoral or some silly little thing like "good and evil" or "right and wrong". But because I despise depending on others instead of my own power. It is a weakness. Therefore I'll use them for all their worth and then dispense with them when they have no further use.
Just like Kreia taught me.
Oh, and I want the slavery to be more like Antiquity Slavery and not Antebellum slavery. Maybe I'm splitting hairs but who cares.
Im Feeling kind of down that people think my idea of freeing the slaves is the lame thing to do. And here I thought it would the "cool" thing to do.
Sorry if I sound like an ass, but feeling down because people disagree with you. Well, It's fine to express your own opinion and in fact there are people who share the same opinion as yours, but you shouldn't expect everyone to hold the same opinion as you. Oh, well, you're off to a grand start, OP.
Sorry, OP. It may be just me, but for once I wanted to play as selfish, self-serving, ruthless character who's out there for him/herself, and not hero who make a bad decision or being forced to be goody-two shoe.
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm really sick of "heroes" or "the chosen one" story set to save the world. The story doesn't have to be about saving the world to be epic. For once I want to play as power hungry Magister, Tevinter supremacist who wish to see the Imperium restored to former glory day, or slave with magical talent who'll rise to power.
Aaaand watch Bioware kill your awesomely awesome character off-screen... ![]()
Srsly, though. That would be pretty epic. There is a book on the rise of the Mongol Empire, and it tells the story from the Mongols' perspective. I read it in a different language than English, so I am not sure what the title would be, but it was an excellent story. It made you really wish that the Mongols would have succeeded in conquering the entire world. And they were supposed to be the bad guys in history, right? ![]()
I hope it doesn't.
Bioware is a Chantry fan, Bioware is a fan of Southern Thedas.
I want nothing to do with their single minded "mages are bad" biased storyline.
we've had 5-6 years of that shite time to try something newI hope it doesn't.

It ain't exactly "lame". And while freeing slaves is generally "cool", its become sort of.....whats the word i'm looking for..... "predictable".
And then there's the Game of Thrones series where Daenerys Targaryen just unilaterally frees the slaves without putting much thought into it and without planning much for the future beyond "FREEDOM". And it backfires on her rather badly.
I want nothing to do with their single minded "mages are bad" biased storyline.
But there'd be nothing "mages are bad" about playing a magister...it'd be a "mages are awesome".
I hope it doesn't.

You know the one thing that actually convinced me of this? In game? Dorian's personal quest. Yes, let's make Tevinter even more revoltingly eeeevvilllllll...
