Apparently BeamDog are making a new Baldur's Gate Game.

http://www.pcgamer.c...s-in-the-works/

Only things I have to say about this is

1)I haven't seen an original ground up product from beamdog(only remasters and additional content)

2)Infinity Engine(in 2015? I sure did love that path finding m9/sarcasm)

3) More details to emerge around spring

Mm this has been their intention for a long time. I'm excited for it personally. I'll take this over 95% of the big name AAA games.

Btw did they ever manage to get their games working on android tablets?

It's set in-between the first and second game. Not a bad idea, I don't want to see a "Baldur's Gate 3" since the story ended but a Baldur's Gate game that is tied in with the baalspawn saga, set in-between the games could work without it coming off as a cash-grab (which is so far what Beamdog has been for me, with their enhanced editions of two classics).

This is certainly their chance to show if they're capable of making a quality RPG without relying on the foundation of already existing games and it'll be built on the new upgraded Infinity Engine too right? That could only be a good thing. Who knows, maybe it'll kickstart a new series of Infinity engine games again.

Edit:

These are some images of the game:

Well it certainly looks like Baldur's Gate...

Is there any reason to use the Infinity Engine in this day and age apart from muh nostalgia?

The extra content they put into BG2:EE wasn't really impressive to me.  I didn't even realize there was a large enough gap between 1 and 2 for another game.

So we're the Bhaalspawn or not?

I wouldn't mind either but I'd prefer a stand alone adventure separated from the whole Bhaalspawn business.

I looked into BeamDog a while back, apparently they're made up of Bioware vets.
