We know that the chantry draws inspirating from christianity. Yeah the developers have even said that I believe. But is there any scenes in the game that is very religious and any scenes where you are almost going up against an embodiment of evil7satanic force. Well you get my drift?
So we know this game ha religious undertones. Is there a scene or scenes in the game that is almost satanic in its depiction?

The Grey Wardens using blood sacrifices on themselves to bind demons at Addamant and the ritual tower in the Western Approach.

You ask rather odd questions. To answer: Much of the game.

Yeah well but I mean that is rather common throughout the whole game. Is there a scene or scenes in particular that capture that whole "This is an evil beyond any of us" and if not something is done Thedas will be in ruin. You know the very black and white depiction you see in especially christianity of good vs evil. Any scenes in particular that is almost like taken out of a passage in the bible, in terms of visuals and heavenly music playing. Basically a scene where the whole come together(music, visuals, voice acting) to depicts a scene that is well very religious.

A fight scene plays out between the maker and kitty? I suppose that could pass as satanic?

What you are describing, at least from what I can piece together as coherent, I can say that what you are looking for is not really in the game. At least not as I am understanding your meaning. There is no confrontation of the nature you describe, even the final boss battle is just "hey here I am..let's fight k?" There is no build up or really epic musical score, as boss battles go, it is pretty meh.
edited to add that Bioshock Infinite might have more of the symbolism you are looking for.

Well what about the meeting with The nightmare demon(i know you don't fight this only an aspect). i mean when yiu encounter that, isn't there this feeling of "this is beyond any of us". Also when you fight Ishmael in the cutscene, since he is one of the forbidden ones

I'm not sure how you (and apparently many others) have arrived to this erroneous conclusion. The notions of the Chantry & Christianity are two different things & are not the same even on a rudimentary level. BioWare has done a terrible job in their 'religion research department' if that was where the well of inspiration (Christianity) was drawn.

I can only think of one scene that it seems they wanted it to seem incredibly evil and that is the one in which you track down the Elf in Kirkwall and then fight him after he murders his wife and uses her blood to perform blood magic against you. Just the image of him standing there in the Alienage and the fact that he appeared to be possessed.
Other than that specifically, the fade seems to be largely evil in nature although so many descriptions of it say it is not, nearly all fade depictions you see, save for the one in which Solas takes you to Haven, make it appear as though it is hell.

The old testament is not really Christian thoughBlood sacrifices is actually very much a christian thing too. Plenty sacrifice their sons and sheep and whatever in the old testament, at the request of god.

Bigger question: Who cares about religious symbolism in a video game about magic and dragons?

No satanic scenes but the game is filled with subtle and not so subtle symbols.

Chantry and the Divine looks like papacy and christianity but the story of Andraste is clearly of Moses-Judaism

Divine prophet betrayed by someone close to them and executed in a horrific fashion?
Yep, that just screams Moses to me. ![]()
(I get the "leading people out of bondage" aspect, it just seems an amalgam would be a more accurate description)
As an aside, that Andrastian throne ... Jesus (tee hee), but that thing is disturbing.

You clearly have your mind on Moby Dick.
I think the reason why people are struggling with your question, is I'm not sure what you are trying to get at:
- Do you mean satanic in terms of demonic imagery (works of Bruegel & Bosch come to mind)
- Or simply that there are demons (pretty much the whole game)
- Or some evil force opposing the maker
- Or some metaphor for the Christian figure of satan, beelzebub etc
What are you trying to determine here, your question could use some context please.

Leliana committing murder inside a chantry. Mother Giselle is annoying I wish I could slice her throat aswell. Should of kept Father Rodrick alive instead. Noticed how he died when Giselle started singing? She killed him. Mother Giselle IS EVIL

Okay I can provide some context if you will. I have read much literature about christianity especially and one of my favorite work is Dante's inferno by Dante Aligheri. Some mayalso have played the game Dante's Inferno and in that game the forces of good and evil is very black and white, were Lucifer is the very embodiment of evil in the end and hell is depicted as a place, devoid op any hope and is just misery and torture.
I am not a religious person at all, however I really enjoy the different mythologies in religion, especially christianity and sometimes a game that is purely black and white, without any shades of grey, is just what you need. I also enjoy The Witcher games, but in that world, there is really no good and evil, just alot of shades of grey.
In another fictional Universe, like Lord Pf The Rings you have also some totally Satanic characters like Sauron and Morgoth who can be compared to Lucifer in christian terms. Especailly Morgoth who is the very embodiment of evil in the Lord Of The Rings Universe, could be compared to Satan/Lucifer.
So back to this game, I am interested in several things. For example, is there any characters in the Dragon Age universe, who could be the Lucifer/Satan of the world of Dragon Age, in terms of power and depiction? And also is there ay scenes in this game that portray things, were Bioware is almost preashing some sortof message to us in biblical terms, you get my drift. Scenes were you go up against perhaps the ultimate evil of this world, if you even fight the ultimate evil in that game. Have we even seen the Satan/Lucifer of this world yet and if so who could it be. I am interested in any parallels so religion in this game?

That scene where everyone starts singing and bowing to the inquisitor, and you're playing a horned qunari. Qunari or not, that whole scene was pretty scary to me to begin with. But throw the Qunari in there and it's like every devote christian's nightmare. People worshiping a horned beast that can easily represent satan.
