I'm honestly not sure actually, but I would like to see someone try, or if someone already posted a character from it, show it again.

So this was the best one but it bugs me how there is a gap between his hair and the beard. And yes, I know it doesn't look that bad. I am just being a picky ******.

What gap, you mean the sideburns? Bah, that's perfectly fine. In real life, I keep my sideburns trimmed down too for a gap because I don't like long sideburns on me. Makes me look like an old man, lol. I guess a little more layering here would do it some good, but I honestly wouldn't even have noticed if you didn't say anything. This isn't bad at all, I thought the hair was going to look really bad from what you were saying.

 

Like I said, if I put my settings on high, it'd look pretty much the same. There's really not much difference now actually. I'll show you:

 

It's been very hit or miss with some shots of my character due to his light skin and hair, as you can see:

LOL I obviously still liked the shot, more or less, but yea he doesn't look the best in this sort of lighting.

 

But I think the best lighting for my character is in the Western approach:

They're all going to have some sort of imperfection though, like how they look in lighting, or non matching stubble, though I have seen people with blonde hair that seemed to have black stubble, so.

Edit: I Googled bearded men, by the way. Kind of have a new appreciation for full on beards now.

I don't know what this means But I think that you could easily make a bearded man work with those graphics. The guy there works just fine and I bet your actual man would too, with the right style for his face. Everyone's got a particular beard that works best for them.

Oh I missed your edit too. Hehe, yes. Let it take over you like the coarse stubble fights to do to your face daily. The constant struggle is never ending, but the beard always wins.

I can stomach the crappy textures, but the main problem for me is that most beards(apart from Hawke-type ones) look like they grow right from the lip, even if you put the nose to the lowest possible position.

I'm playing a human mage named Gideon at the moment who is heavily bearded and has a pony tail. (Hair really suffers in this game) My main complaint with beards in game is that they float above the face in strange ways sometimes. I hope they can fix that.

I've been lucky enough to never have that, thank Andraste... Maybe that's for the really huge gandalf beards? I haven't tried making one of those work before. Not man enough

It's strange because it's plaguing all the beards I've tried using. I've only found one that doesn't do it very badly. The beards that resemble Hawke's even do it! It's madness!
