Need help for the choice of a shield

I have a lvl 11 unique I am using at the moment : Dirthamen's Widsom 11 armor + 2 const + 30% front def + 4 % melee def + 5 % extra damage for each enemy within 8 meters

and I was wondering if on of these is better : lvl 21 Polished round shield 24 armor + 8% melee def + 30 % front def and lvl 17 Masterwork Darkspawn shield : + 3 cunning + 30 % front def + 5 % magic def + 2 % chance to use onbowed on hit ...

I am mainly playing with my templar, not with the legionnaire and the 5 % extra damage for each enemy within 8 meters seems good with the combo wrath of heaven and spell purge ....

Any advices?

I just went with highest armour class on the shield I use. It's a grey item level 23 shield.

Out of the ones you have available, prehaps the darkspawn one? Unbowed would give you full guard when it triggered.

Armor is not that great as it's substracted first as a plain number. For example, if you're shot for 1400 damage by a nice archer and have a shield with 11 armor, you'll now be hit for 1389 damage... OMG that was useful...

What you need to decide is what's more important to you: 5% extra damage per nearby enemy or 3% melee def (8% - 4% - 1% from constitution).

Personally, I'd go for the unique level 11.

I'd go with the extra damage. Personally the unbowed shield never seemed to work properly for me. I'd hear the sound for the skill go off but many times never got any guard. Of course that could be that I got hit right after it activated but it happened often. The templer seems more fit for dps then tanking.
