Why should I exercise patience? Because I know how it works .. or something like that?

Of course no one made me buy it, at the same time no one told me that the game has bugs. No one told me tool tips do not correspond to factual state of effects. No one told me how loots system and progression will work. No one told me that team will go on holiday while their product is broken. No one told me .. etc etc

If I want to buy a car I do not exercise patience. I go to dealer, they show me specs, let me drive it and let me look at engine, offer warranty etc so I can make informed decision. As I said, game is not car but at the same time there is such a thing as "working as advertised" as it was info from advertising I based my decision to buy game upon. It is not working as advertised. What patience?

you dont buy cars much do ya? Enjoy being ripped off for thousands of dollars by the dealer because you impatiently rushed into a purchase you didnt research.

I dont think you could come up with a worse example of a product you can safely impulse buy.

The only major bug I can report from my PC is the SLI bug.  I have to play on SLI if I want ultra graphics, because I'm still sitting on 2x GTX580's.  Its not game stopping by any means.  In fact this is one of the cleanest releases I've seen from Bioware.

I've had a couple of glitches on the PC, but considering the vast scope of the game, I think it's amazingly stable and polished really. That said, I haven't even touched multiplayer so can't comment on that.

Its worth it for the comparison. Its not like buying a car. Ive never heard of anyone being ripped off by a car dealer. They are the most honest people in the world. if only every product was like a friendly trip to a car dealer. My dealer even gave me a lemon with my purchase.
It made my day. I wont lie.

Do you have any examples? I haven't ran into many bugs playing this game.

There is so much broken and buggy by why is bioware going after the things that work too well opposed to the things that work at all.

Starting with Mages:

Rift Mage:

I honestly feel that most fo the rift mage is nothing working properly.

stonefist doesnt shatter for extra cold damage

I rarely get weakness status on enemies which is fine. its not like the tree is built around getting bonuses against weakened enemies :3

oh wait.

i've had instances where in tombs or even outside a lvl 3 firestorm will only give me 12 meteors or if i do get all of them 2/3 of the meteors do NO DAMAGE when there are enemies in the AoE. And no immune doesn't pop up. The meteors will hit and I won't even get 1 damage.

Dropped my qunari mage after that.

Necromancer:

After lots of testing [an hour of trash mobbing] Walking bomb's virulent works maybe half the time.

I will have grouped up enemies and i will check their status in tact cam after a dead walking bomb dies on them: No walking bomb status in tact cam and the symbol isnt on them either.

So yeah. Wasted point for that.

Also: Binding terror seems to be broken as well. I have yet to see bonus damage on panic'd enemies.
I've tried auto attacks and spells from all trees and well I do not see bonus damage vs panic'd enemies.

Same damage with or without panic.

A Wasted point to get to ...!

Another bugged ability.

Jeez thanks.

Power of the dead is also ****** broken. Regardless if I let dorian get the final hit or not it never procs so YAY.

Spirit mark screws up your game more than it helps.

Respawning trash mobs you just killed [this happened twice in the hour i trash mobbed.] After spirit mark procs and i get a servant. Sometimes it will spawn the encounter all over again!

On top of which spirit mark counts the spirit you charmed to still register as an enemy until it goes away.

As for Simulacrum what the hell is this? Tested this: When dorian drops dead and I am not controlling him I don't get the spirit. The hell is this crap? So just to get this to work sort of [sometimes i got Dorian killed 10 times 5 controlled, 5 ai] i have to be controlling dorian right before he dies? all 3 items he died controlled by AI i didnt get the spirit. turned on tact cam and nothing. I got it once in the 5 times i died controlling him.

Also, i didnt have guardian spirit when testing this just in case there is a hidden property where you can only have one or the other.

Knight enchanter:

Ah yes the one mage skill tree that works properly just happens to be broken.

classy.

Storm:

Where do we begin?

Stormbringer needs massive reworking and an added animation. Most of the time this doesnt even work.
I had a bear chase me for 14 minutes. Stormbringer hit it twice.
BRAVO BIOWARE, BRAVO.

1 proc every 7 minutes? Worthless skill.

And gathering storm? It works.

sort of. It will shave 1-2 seconds off storm abilities only after anywhere from 10 to 15 seconds of non-stop auto attacks.

This doesn't shave off cooldown time of ice, fire, spirit or rift mage abilties.

Lightning needs a buff. It's absolutely terrible for the mana cost.

Also, conductive current seems to have a cap of 20% damage or so.

tested the damage with  40% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% mana missing: only a 20% boost.

So basically it's 5% damage capped at 20% so having low mana in hopes of higher damage is a joke.

Also, I've had no success with static charge because I either finish casting or i get hit and it doesn't proc.

inferno:

Fix immolate as detonator. Fix immolate as detonator. Fix immolate as detonator. Fix immolate as detonator. Fix immolate as detonator. Fix immolate as detonator.

Other than enemies walking over a 5 second set fire mine because it was on uneven ground and the problem with immolate inferno works well. [i watched many enemies walk through a set fire mine because the terrain was uneven. they did this 7/10 times. Flat ground? no problem. yet how cnn enemy mages fire mines on uneven ground always hit us then 70% it doesn't work for me?]

Winter:

Where do I begin?

Blizzard needs to be fixed in every single way. From it not turning off to having mana constantly drain while there is no blizzard. Or constantly having zero mana and not having a blizzard on top of not being able to shut it off.

Winter stillness with not proc when standing still but it will proc while running around casting ice mines or even using fade step? CONSISTENCY PLEASE.

Mana surge has never popped and never frozen a nearby enemy. So yay for a useless skill.

Enemies frozen by winter's grasp/ice mine sometimes only get 1 damage when shattered by: shield bash / stone fist / long shot

Or the longshot / stone fist will pass through the frozen enemy [for no damage of course] but still drain the mana/stamina

Fix that too.

ice mines on uneven terrain will have enemies stand or walk over it without triggering even after being set for longer than 3 seconds.

------------

Warriors:

vanguard

Here's a surprise most of the specs and abilities here work.

Except the increasing max guard skills. That's always fun. Get rid of healing mages and limit potions and what is supposed to protect you. guard, cannot be increased properly? LoL. Thanks, Bioware.

i've grabbed both skills from vanguard and champ and belts and my guard is still capped at 1/4 of my health.

useless skills and items.

Charging bull  will stop as soon as you use it. You burst forward for one second and stop. Yep, that seems to be working properly. On top of which you don't even knock down enemies. Sure it's rare but when it does happen you run over 4 enemies and they are all standing.

also, cutting words sometimes gives to damage bonus. Always fun knowing a passive won't work. 80% of the time it works and that good and all but it's supposed to work 100% of the time.

2h

The other problem with two hander is the earthshattering strike seems to go in a  random direction. sure it hits the person you want it to hit by I've lined it up that it will hit 3 enemies but it will hit one enemy they go in a random frigging direction rendering my aiming of said skill pointless and wasted.

sns

Shield bash will not always proc shatter.or if it does ti will be a bonus 1 cold damage.

payback strike/Sweet revenge does not stun taunted enemies. [tried it on a foot soldiers taunted by to the death and war cry.]

lunge and slash doesn't work as a detonator.

champion:

to the death will randomly end with the taunted enemy still alive and still attacking and neither of you having left the range of the skill. So yeah there is that.

bulwark gives no extra guard capacity.

templar:

maker's will: again same as rift mage. i've never seen weakened enemies.

last sacrifice sometimes doesn't proc if you are controlling the templar.

-------

rogues:

dual dagger

Flank attack can send you flying off the map, off a cliff and even if you land the second hit you sometimes will not get stealth.

spinning blades will sometimes stop for no reason. You will stop after 3-4 attacks even with the upgrade for more.

parry needs to be repalced with something more useful or a buff, it doesn't hit hard enough to make it worthwhile.

deathblow needs major fixings. Taking an extra 50 stamina? Not delivering the second hit when a target is below 50% hp? hittign only twice if the target will die on the second hit?

bloodied prey is absolutely useless unless you stack about 40 constitution on a ROGUE. And even then not worth it.

dance of death will not return stamina if you kill with death blow.

sneak attack's percentage bonus is bugged as well.

archery.

longshot will only shatter for 1 cold damage or it will bypass a frozen enemy while still being put on cooldown and taking stamina.

leaping shot can land you 50 feet away and then off the map instead of 10-15 and still on the map. Even on flat terrain sometimes you will fly back 50 feet for no reason what so ever. Then are are time leaping shot wont leap and it just 12 shots from standing.

sabotage:

caltrops. AHAHAHAHAHA. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh man. just saying caltrops makes me laugh because of how bad it is.

There is nothing redeeming about this skill. it's filler to get to something better.

toxic cloud. Ahahaha. Oh man what was bioware thinking? you cant throw a vial or flask? you have to drop it at your feet? and oh wow the upgrade.

throwing blades is garbage. and the upgrade lies. virtually no difference. they still hit what they want to. pointless.

poison is so-so mid to end game. it ends up taking spots for better skills. the entire tree besides a couple passives and screwing around with hook and tackle is completely garbo.

subterfuge:

evade's upgrade does jack nothing. no damage and enemies don't doof around where you were. broken POS

evasion is another crap skill. 5% dodge. On a character that is supposed to not hold aggro.

Make it better or scrap it. Never seen it proc either. Probably because i'm playing rogue correctly. *shrug*

artificer:

only complaints here is that you don't have an arc like mages for their wall spells to throw your elemental mines.

And if there could be an alternative for dagger-ficers. Cool.
Works well enough.

assassin:

cloak of shadows is useless. Now if ti was seconds of critical/flank hits or stealth and +25% damage bonus maybe it'd be worth taking. But it's the worst focus ability until something gets done to it.

knockout bomb is hardly worth it. comatose isn't even a thought. buff them or scrap them. knockout powder works better.

i was never here doesn't always remove stealth's cooldown.

tempest:

for the love of god fix flask of fire and thousand cuts.

bioware is going to nerf the overpowered stuff but this gets skipped?! how?

flaskmaster is bugged. never seen an elixir not get consumed.

I stood around for 20 minutes popping elixirs and this never proc'd.

Not once. bugged. .

---

Focus:

not of the belts work and the inquisitor skill for cross class combos doesn't add focus either even more so since the detonations of CCC's are broken.

---

tl:dr

lots of stuff broken none of it fixed.

if anything is acting buggy and i haven't listed it feel free to mention.

There's a fair bit of opinion in there (x needs buffing y is useless) but most of that is legit.

With regards to the warrior you actually missed one of the absolute biggest problems. ALL the detonators in the 2 hander tree are broken when used with anything other than paralyze.

Using mighty blow or whirl wind on any other primer will actually GIMP your damage. How in the hell that ever made it past QA when there were only TWO skills to test for that is beyond me. I have to assume it didn't make it past QA, was discovered and BioWare simply decided "who cares" **** warriors by the time they get to sky hold nothing can hurt them any way.

Also what system do you play on? I wonder if some of these are system specific bugs. I play on PC and have never had issues lunge detonations, charging bull stopping on it's own (other than when it's blocked which isn't a bug), or makers will (see weakened enemies all the time although I run with Cassandra as well as a templar PC and the passives DO stack).

i have it xbox 360 and xbox 1 [got a free copy for xbox 360 due to a pre order screw up but hey it's free]

all of these issues exist on both

also i dont really play two handed but my goodness that sucks

granted there is alot of opinion but what is the point of using a skill or a broken/weak tree? might as well give my two bits to make it should like a bit of constructive feedback opposed to 'OMFG U SUCK I CAN MAKE BETTER SKILL TREES'

although it probably will come off like that for some readers :P

Inquisition's release was actually pretty stable compared to most games coming out lately. Hell ME3 was far buggier than DA with far more broken mechanics and powers with misleading tool tips. Not to mention how many mechanics were hidden behind the scenes until players in the community did some testing and explained what was going on.

Yes I encourage the Dev to do their best to release the game with as few bugs as possible, but I am not unreasonable and I understand that they can't get rid of all bugs.

( Long list of stuff allegedly broken )

Wow, if there are particular abilities folk don't like, use something else,

there are plenty of abilities and you have more abilities than slots anyway.

A load of that list was just stuff not liked, not broken.

Debating the stats? I turn all those annoying numbers off in the game options, they just clutter up the screen.

If the enemy is dead, it's dead.

If the enemy shoots fire then I won't use fire, combat job done.

OP, you probably posted this at an inopportune time. You should have posted this in 2012 or 2013. That's when EA won the Worst Company in America award, beating out such illustrious competitors as Blackwater, BP, Halliburton and Goldman Sachs. This is a fairly benign moment in EA's history, really.

I remember how much love EA was getting on the Ubisoft forum recently when the tweet went out:

"Confirmed: #DAI resolution is 1080p on PS4, and 900p on Xbox One. We maximized the current potential of each platform."

Just after Ubisoft had confirmed its frame rate was capped to be 'more cinematic'.

Oh wow.

  • Game release totally bug free? Unrealistic.
There are plenty of AAA games with many more bugs than DAI.
  • Game mechanics and loot progression were not advertised?
Players have the game, now they know.
  • Employees must continue to work through the holidays?
Software is clearly an emergency service?
Bah humbug, chain them to their desks!

DAI is a pretty fine game, sure it has some bugs, few games don't.

I remember how buggy Skyrim was on release (5 patches).

We know there is another patch inbound.

If the game operation of DAI makes people this unhappy,

what state would they be in if something important went wrong in their life?

Perhaps you do not remember the time when there was no internet or was too slow to deliver patches or game was on disk and console was not online. In that time, publishers could not afford to release buggy stuff else they would go out of business. Today .. we patch it later. And reaction from customers  .. alright, lets be patient.

Now players know .. lol? So now players have information up on which informed decision can be made. But "now" they already have the game so "informed decision" is pretty much irrelevant. Such info is relevant before purchase not after. Especially with return policy and warranty this product have.

Employees go on holiday .. tell you what. I sell you broken TV, before Xmas, and go on holiday. Lets see how you like that. Lets see your patience.

Indeed, rational human beings.

To a complaint: I bought this and its broken!

Reply: Well, you should have wait ..

Is just not good enough. Those who sold me this product (license) told me its fine = not broken. And you are telling me I should assume they were lying or ignorant? No I assume they are professionals, know what they doing, and have some decency.

It does not matter what kind of product it is. If you do not like car, use your imagination for something else. The point stands. How about fridge, is fridge good?

Or better yet a book. You buy book with missing pages, typing errors, and bad translation. The book is electronic. You did not know this before you bought the book because nobody told you, especially not the advertising department. It was sold as book - product working as advertised.

bloodied prey is absolutely useless unless you stack about 40 constitution on a ROGUE.

1: Vanguard all armour increasing talens work only on back armour not front.

2: Reeaver's dragon rage takes 5% hp per hit not 2

3: 2 handed detonators are broken. both of them, besides the entire 2 handed tree is a extremely terrible tree this time.

4: Templars blessed blades is bugged does not provide any damage, in fact even its name is wrong it should be blessed ground not blessed blades. It is a broken skill with a broken tool tip with a broken name.

Been 'driving a car' from Bioware since 2001, and was a fan of the company before this. They have always provided top quality assurance, and have had few problems. Yet on those few occasions, repairs were made quickly, and to my satisfaction. This is why I am loyal to them, as they have proven their loyalty to me.

Are we really being taken by this Bioware gaming company now? I have bought many Bioware and EA products, by how is it right to bring to the market a game that is so rife with bugs? I welcome the multiplayer aspect, but if it was working it would be maybe ok. I have also played many other game company games and few are as incomplete as this game is. Will the word on EA and Bioware in the marketplace now be "Beware"?

If you purchased an automobile with this many flaws, law would require a recall. Who protects gamers from this type of thing?

.

I predict in twenty years people will still enjoy Dragon Age: Inquisition because of its high standard.

Yes, the game has numerous bugs of many kinds. I agree.
You can also question the game experience and setup, user interface, story etc.

But, all in all, you must admit that a huge amount of experience and working hours are spend on this game. It is out of common reach to understand the depths.

And it is also the latest in technology and use of hardware. So advanced that a lot of consoles and PC's have serious problems. I am one of those on a PC who can't watch the cinematics without crashing. But Dragon Age: Inquisition will be a game you can play several years from now on.

If DAI was a book it would have a few typos.

That does not mean you can't enjoy reading it (playing it).
