Anyone who had anything to do with the World State choices really..
There were a few I really wanted to know what had happened to, but it seems no matter the choices for the World State you start with, they didn't really have any impact at all on the story in Inquisition. :S Just a few remarks from a few people here and there.. I would've wanted to see more concrete changes in the world itself and its people according to the choices in past games. Now it just seems like no choices I made mattered. Sure, You see either King Alistair or Warden Alistair, or Queen Anora depending on what you chose etc..
But other than that, I didn't really feel satisfied by just talking/asking about the HOF and the Blight from NPCs. I would've wanted to see a different world entirely according to the choices in DA:O and DAII. I made a really Evil Warden a few times. Chose all the evil options, but it seemed people just shrugged his actions off and moved on, thinking:
- "Hey, remember when ten years ago a man made really horrible changes in our world, killed a lot of good people and left Redcliffe on its own to fight the undead army, unprepared? Considered a deal with Uldred?? Let Sophia Dryden free and allowed Avernus to study the Blight unethically?? Didn't he side with werewolves to kill the Dalish elf clan that lived in the Brecilian Forest at the time aswell? Isn't he the same dude who corrupted the Sacred Ashes of Andraste and accepted a Dragon as her reincarnation?? Had Alistair, the sole heir to the Theirin throne, executed to gain Loghain to the Wardens?? Made himself king instead just so he could further his own sadistic rule over Ferelden??"
- "Yes... But heeeey! He killed the Archdemon!"
- "Oh, you're right, all is well that ends well! Let's never think about it or mention it to anyone ever again! No dragon cultists to be seen anywhere! No werewolves! No one mourns the dead mages from the Circle, heck, new mages from other random places settled quite nicely here in Redcliffe instead! No one fears the tyrant King because he left to find some cure for something and left the lovely Anora to rule alone! I bet he even sided with who ever opened the sky! But yeah, we're so chill here in Ferelden, we don't let these things get to us at all! Sorry I brought it up, such a ridiculous subject for discussion!"
- "Cheers to that and all the people who were left suffering! Luckily they've all forgotten and moved on too!"
And no one mentioned the fifth Blight again after that.
Same goes for the really good HOF, still mentioned far too few times and seems to be remembered even less. My HOF would so have joined the Inquisition instead of running of for a cure for the Calling, and she/he would've brought with them an incredible group of followers, because her/his companions were forever faithful to the HOF! I'm sad the Warden lost all the personality I had worked hard for before Inquisition, because I thought the choices would really matter... Not saying the Warden should've had the biggest role, just a bigger one, I understand why Hawke showed up, so wouldn't the Warden have had an even bigger reason to join since he/she had already killed one archdemon, if even just to bring some advice aswell?
Sorry for the rant, I get carried away..
These are just some thoughts I had, I'm certain there are perfectly reasonable explanations somewhere in some codex, but I don't like to read, I want to experience and see.
