Am I the only one that thinks Geralt is fugly?

No. Me to, he looks ugly like Cassandra. How do you expect to look when you be ~100 years old, If you live that long  .  And all his life he fight his body full of scars.

I would have to say Geralt because..... my femquisitor would faint and die right way by finding old perv geralt, in the quiz quarters, knees deep in her dirty panties...

If its in a fight between the 2 tho....

Well, while Geralt would still be choosing which sword is better to attack the Inquisitor, she would have already ripped him apart with the mark of the rift...

Since I don't view either my Quizzy nor Geralt as competing brats.......

They'd have a drink together, maybe a smooch or two and exchange stories.

What can I say, I prefer bonding time over stupid melodrama.

I'm pretty sure the average Bioware fan would take a steel pipe in a Bioware game vs. the greatest character in human history in a non-Bioware game..

..so not seeing the point of this topic.

When did we start talking about Aeneas?

Edit:

I just had to throw this in here because it is so badass:

He roll'd his eyes, and ev'ry moment felt
His manly soul with more compassion melt;
When, casting down a casual glance, he spied
The golden belt that glitter'd on his side,
The fatal spoils which haughty Turnus tore
From dying Pallas, and in triumph wore.
Then, rous'd anew to wrath, he loudly cries
(Flames, while he spoke, came flashing from his eyes)
"Traitor, dost thou, dost thou to grace pretend,
Clad, as thou art, in trophies of my friend?
To his sad soul a grateful off'ring go!
'T is Pallas, Pallas gives this deadly blow."
He rais'd his arm aloft, and, at the word,
Deep in his bosom drove the shining sword.
The streaming blood distain'd his arms around,
And the disdainful soul came rushing thro' the wound.

you mean opinion right?

and I never said otherwise I'm not sure why so many DA fans get so defensive (I'm not only talking about you)
Can't someone like both? (even though I prefer TW in some ways depends on TW3 I guess)

Fix!

And why do fanboys constantly bring up the Witcher 3 in an DAI forum? You don't see me over at the Witcher site boosting about DAI.

Like now ...a vs thread...seriously how old are you people?? ( Not you per-say ,the OP)

DA and The Witcher are VERY similar types of games, they are both story driven RPG's and both are making their first venture into open world gameplay. People on here don't like to admit it, but the Witcher and DA are very much alike. Hence, they often get brought up in discussions together as people who like one tend to like the other as well.

Nah, you seen that beard he's got now?

*snip*

Unf, tbh.

He's improved but still not OMG *throws panties across the room* level. And his voice doesn't make up for it either. (Those eyes really put me off as well. tbh)

There is actually a lore reason that women throw themselves at him (or more specifically, all witchers.) It's not his looks but the fact that he is sterile, he cant get women pregnant. In a world where there is no means of contraception. (I'm not saying that this is a particularly good reason but that is what the books and such say.) It also helps that witchers are somewhat like celebrities, people know them by name and by their deeds, and everyone knows from RL that being a celeb instantly makes on 100x more attractive to the average person.

The same is true of the sorceresses, they are the female equivalent of witchers, famous around the world, sterile, and many men supposedly desire them.

The Nameless One.

He would teach Bioware and CD Projekt what being a video game protagonist is all about.

Actually I should of said Bioware fan's will just start talking about whatever thing they feel like without really referencing the topic directly including and just kind of give stream of consciousness responses into the aether about every other thing.

Anyway I'm just going to avoid this and say Geralt over all the characters in the DA universe.

The spirit monk binds them both and compels them to destroy shitty threads like this.

Seriously, since this thread is such hot garbage, it might as well be used for a better purpose.

Bioware, now that you are done with DAI, please, I beseech you, give us what we all have been waiting for,

Very easily put:

I like Geralt but he isn't 'me', but his own character.

I like the Inquisitor, and he is 'me' or rather a self insertion of me in Dragon Age, just like Shepard, just like the Warden, just like Hawke etc.

Creating a character that is completely flexible in his opinions and has interchangeable viewpoints and sexuality and so on makes it really hard to make consistent or believable character development for said character, because you're creating a blank slate with so many branches and outcomes.

Geralt always had a very clearly defined character, but you get to choose some of his most important viewpoints and beliefs but you can't decide his behavior, sexuality or core personality.

To be honest I prefer the Bioware protagonist. It's more immersive and if they manage to give us the same amount of a yet agency but also convincing character development in the future, then they will have vastly outdone themselves IMO.

In previous games i agreed,(ironi on) in this one with the lot of mattering decisions (ironi off)....

just because you didn't understand my post doesn't mean it wasn't relevant

and if you were really looking to avoid "all this" you wouldn't have posted at all

my guess is you are just looking to needle the DA fans and then try to appear above it all

Female Inquisitor. Geralt would bed her and then she'd kill him in his sleep later.

Well, first hard thing would be to get Geralt actually interested in a duel, due to his Witcher-neutrality-thing. I guess he would simply not care as long as the Quizzy poses no threat to him or the ones he loves

And then? A mage-quizzy with the anchor against a mutant with superhuman reflexes, relying on drugs and sword...the Quizzy...

A warrior/rogue-Quizzy against him? Still the anchor...but maybe a bit more even here...but I guess in the end they would either sleep with each other, or drink it out/arm-wrestle/poker-dice it...(in case of fem-Quizzy all of that possibly)

Geralt is a singular character, the Quizzy is anybody. the question makes no sense.

I'll play anyway though. Winner is a mage inquisitor. geralt isnt really a match for mages in the books.

They are similar in some ways but there are huge differences in how they handle the protagonist as well as the combat. I don't know about you, but to me there's a really big difference between playing as the Inquisitor/Warden and Geralt. Hawke is somewhere in between.

Just because the games have similarities it doesn't make the differences disappear.

I reckon warrior Hawke could take him in pure swordsmanship. The inquisitor I'm not sure about; I've always viewed the guy as the weakest of the three protagonists.
