Hey all, just wondering what criteria determines who goes into the fade w/ you and Hawke. I know the possibilities are Alistair, Stroud, and Loghain. But what choices from previous games determine this? I'm assuming if Alistair is king he wont be there, but what about the others? If Alistair is not king and you recruited Loghain who would it be then?

It's a matter of you supporting the mages or not.
If you support templars, Shroud shows up, if you support mages Alistair or Loghain (depending on who's alive) will show up to take the place of the warden.
If you made Loghain a Warden, he's there.
If Alistair remained a Grey Warden, he's there. He's not there if he's the King or a drunk.
If neither of the above are available, Mr Moustachio is there.

That's not true. It's determined solely by whether Alistair or Loghain was a Grey Warden in your imported world state. If neither of them is alive and available, you get Stroud.

Where did you pull this notion from?
It's much more simple than that. If Alistair or Loghain survived DAO and are still Wardens, they will be the one who shows. Both can't, because they are mutually exclusive, since Alistair cannot remain in the Wardens if Loghain is left alive.
If neither of them are alive and Wardens, Stroud shows.
