Okay so I made this Formal Attire  mage armor for my lvl 16 mage (it uses 17 cloth for armor, 6 and 4 cloth for two different defence slots, 4 leather for utility and ofc 1 masterwork for masterwork) . It comes out on 177 armor, which I'm very happy with, but the crafting materials for the defence and utility slots are worthless. All I can get is bonuses for cunning and dexterity for utility. Why ios this? Is it because I have shitty crafting materials (in that case, what should I look for?) or is it something else?

Another thing I wondered about was how the "heal bonus" works. Does it heal over time or help any "heal on kill" you might have on your weapon?

I am truly greatful for anyone who takes time to answer, THANK YOU!

btw I know I might sound like a total noob to most. But it's my first DA game and all the people on this formus are always so quick and nice to help!

short answer? no, leather utility bonuses always come out as dexterity or cunning, or a mix of the two. It's cloth utility slots that provide magic/willpower bonuses. That said however, cunning is not always a bad thing depending on how you are building your mage, it can be used to beef up their critical hit rating for example, the benefit of the stats do not exclusively apply to rogues. The heal bonus basically amplifies any heal effect coming your way, for example, say the Reaver's devour skill.

Okay. Thanks dude, I see now that you can read on the crafting materials which effect they get in which slot. Can't belive I didn't notice that before...
