Who to take to the fade?

So I'm wondering, who you took to the fade with you when fighting this nightmare demon? Who you found the most fun? I noticed some really fun banter of some companions going on there, and Sera and Cole are just freaking hilariously. I also saw a video of Iron Bull getting hit with a stick afterwards, and I wonder if it only will come if he's been in the actual party? I wonder anyway, if my decisions only affect those being with me, or all in general. I mean, it's not like they don't get to hear about my doings, right? Or are some going to react so harshly on which ever decision you take, that they might really be mad at you?

SOlas, Cassandra, and Varric.

Varric didn't have as much to say as I might have liked.  Cassandra has good stuff regarding Justinia.  And teh Nightmare Demon trash talking Solas is...interesting.

Also, he seriously fanbois about being in the Fade in the flesh :D

Edit:  I got the stick scene without taking IB to the Fade

IB always gets hit with a stick, even if he's not in the real party (he's at the tail end, out of sight).

I bring Dorian, just to freak him out. :P

I think you should always take Solas and Cassandra.

The third spot I usually reserve for Varric, since Hawke is there and it seems mean to leave him behind. However, he doesn't really say anything special. So, next time I might take someone else.

I took Solas (for his fade geekery), Blackwall and Varric. I was satisfied with their dialogue in there but would be interested to see Bull or Sera too. Ordinarily I would have taken Cassandra over Blackwall to see her dialogue, but I was punishing Blackwall by making him help fix what the wardens had broken -_-

Taking Bull seemed a little cruel given how much it scares the **** out of him. Well, same for Sera but she's my waifu. So she stays with me   :D

Cassandra, Dorian and Vivienne regret not going into the Fade if left behind (although ironically Vivienne freaks out a little if she's taken there). Cassandra has a few lines of unique dialogue. Varric has a brief banter with Hawke if he goes. Solas has unique dialogue, and even more if Cole is there as well. Cole, Sera and Iron Bull all freak out at being there.

i took varric with me the first time, hoping for some extra dialogue with hawke.  i was very disappointed that he didn't >___>  i think it would've been very fitting if he'd had something to say when hawke and your warden companion fight over who stays in the fade.

i think my favourites to take are cole and solas.  filling up the last slot is hard though, although for me personally, it'd probably be either cassandra, blackwall or iron bull (to balance out the party)

Iron Bull because he's like "I didn't sign up for this ****! Where's the exit!?"

I wound up going with Cassandra, Blackwall, and... Solas, I think?  It worked out well enough.

Solas is a must. Cole freaks out and makes you...or rather me regret taking him. It's still pretty cool to take spirit into the fade. Blackwall's boring and so quiet you forget he's ther, but the fear(?) demon drops some nice lines about him that feature later. It seemed fitting to take Varric since Hawke was there. But Varric is mostly unphased by it all.

I'd love to know how Vivienne and Dorian react.

Vivienne and Dorian have some funny banter between each other at the beginning. Dorian gives some insight into Tevinter harrowings by describing his own. Their responses to the Nightmare demon are amusing.

I liked taking Solas, Cassandra and Varric the best though. Varric because Hawke was there and you get insight into his emotional state, Cassandra because of her reaction to the "Divine" and Solas because he's a Fade expert.

I haven't taken the others yet.

I feel it should be Cassandra, Solas and Varric story wise. But I wonder and hope they make it an actual game flag for the next one or whatever who you took into the fade. As mentioned Vivienne and Dorian regret not being there. If not taken Dorian wishes to research anything he kind find on Corypheus from Tevinter history. That's cool when they can distinguish things like that.

I hate when everybody acts like they went on the mission with you. The biggest one being Varric, he did not come with me to kill Corypheus with Hawke in DA2! He knows nothing!

But the whole

Varric: Hey Hawke, remember when we were in the fade last time?
Hawke: Yeah and all my friends betrayed me.

That was gold. I think it's a glitched piece though, because on my second run through I didn't get it.

Bull has some great dialouge where he is mimicking the conversation he had with Krem about working for the inquisition its funny as hell.

Solas, because he completely fanboys about being in the Fade.

Cassandra, because of her interactions with Schroedinger's Justinia.

Sera, because the place scares the ****** out of her in a midly hilarious way.

Honorable mentions to Dorian and Varric. Blackwall has surprisingly little to say for such a Warden-centric quest.

Solas, Cassandra and Cole ended up being my preferred pics once I eventually got all the party members in the Fade.

I love taking Dorian. He's all cool and collected and talks about desire demons, and also he cracks me up when the Nightmare taunts everyone and they're sorta freaking out, but when it's Dorian's turn he's just all, "Uncalled for."

Also if you're romancing him he has a meltdown back at Skyhold about scaring him.

I think Solas is a must indeed. I considered Blackwall over Cassandra, as it's a warden mission and from what I know he gets some dissing from that demon that now, that I do not romance him, could be fun :D But you're right, the divine is a better reason speaking for Cassandra. So it's all about that last spot I can't make my mind about.

Why is Cole making you regret it? Cause he freaks there so much or he's going to bash you afterwards for taking you there? I was curious of Vivienne's reaction, if her facade fades in the fade :D Also, with her resurrect skill, she's by now very useful. Dorian used to be my standard companion, as I like to head out with 2 mages, being a rouge myself. I considered Varric for Hawke indeed, but perhaps it only give extra depth if Hawke stays behind? Or is that only afterwards anyway?

As mentioned Vivienne and Dorian regret not being there. If not taken Dorian wishes to research anything he kind find on Corypheus from Tevinter history. That's cool when they can distinguish things like that.

Does that mean that if you take them, they won't do that? Is that a loss in the end?

And are those other video-scenes also all granted, apart from the dating-specifics (damn, I might need to play a male mage or something for Dorian to date one day^^) , or only if you take them along? Bull got confirmed, what about Sera?

sera is amazing and if you go see her at sky hold when you get back the cut scene is hilarious she goes mad
