Vivienne because of the **** talking the demon does about her age.
Who to take to the fade?

haha, the demon is getting on by her age?! Sounds ridiculously fun
as for Sera, is it only if you take her with you you get to see that sequence?

It was a part of the Grey Warden mission. So I took Varric for Hawke, Blackwall for the Wardens and Dorian for the Magister.

Sera loses her flipping mind. I had to tac cam pause just to laugh hysterically at her perpetual discomfort. I took BW & V twice and never heard Nightmare's reading of them. Oh well, third time's the charm.
Why am I envisioning a little spider demon descending down from its web and intoning "The Library is Open" once we enter the Fade ![]()

Solas and Cassandra. The third spot can be any of Varric, Sera, or Cole.

Story wise, I always take Solas, Cass, and Varric.
For funnies, I take Iron Bull, Sera, and Cole. All three collectively freak out.

I used Dorian, Varric, and Cassandra but I think combination of Cole, Solas, and someone with a lot of snark or irreverence, to offset the bleak seriousness of the situation (maybe Dorian, Sera or The Iron Bull ), would've been a better choice. Unfortunately, the main reason I brought Varric along--his connection to Hawke--didn't matter at all, but Dorian's comments were pretty funny and Cassandra did have some unique dialogue options with Justinia.

I brought Dorian with me in the end, who made a funny remark, but for fun I think Bull, Sera or Cole work better. Sera and Cole for flipping, thought I found it interesting to read on her grave (on that graveyard containing the compagnions greatest fears) that she had non... Bull's little chat with himself at the start is just hilerious.

Cassandra's infatuation with the Divine annoys me... and I prefer no to take her into the fade.

Giantdeathrobot: Solas because he completely fanboys about the fade
There is actually far greater reason to take Solas, though you have to do some wiki work to find out some of the Elvish words, the Fear Demon speaks directly to Solas while you're in the fade.
My preferred choices were Cole, Cassandra and Solas. They're the only ones with any direct connection to the fade, or in Cassandra's case, need to be there for personal reasons.

Solas and Cole are are must for me. Spot #3 is up for debate because no one else has comparable meaningful reactions to the whole mess -- in no small part because Hawke and the Warden annoyingly dominate most of the conversations while the companions are all but ignored. So I'd say bring whoever you like. Cassandra is a pretty decent choice.
(Those three are my usual team for the story missions, anyway.)

I hate when everybody acts like they went on the mission with you. The biggest one being Varric, he did not come with me to kill Corypheus with Hawke in DA2! He knows nothing!
THANK YOU. Varric pretended I took him on multiple missions (Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts is what I remember with most anger) when I didn't take him on a single story mission in DAI. It was so random.
Also I took Dorian, Vivienne, and Cassandra. I was satisfied with them.
