I spend WAY too much time playing the game, and thinking about playing the game....and now the social website....
How sad.

Edit: I found myself telling a good friend of mine about this game, and going on about the romances. She does NOT play video games. At all. She's also single (I'm not, my husband thinks I'm crazy) and told me today, "I do not think I could handle being dumped by a cartoon!" Hahaha. I was pretty embarrassed I was even talking about the whole thing with her.

I play the game before going to bed, of course, then have to regale my husband with what happened in my game and who said what, and of course I'm now emailing my friends about it (who also don't play video games)
My husband also thinks I'm crazy, and in need of some help.
My first playthrough, I rushed through just to get done before I had to go out in the field. Then, while in the field I bought th PC version for my laptop (had been playing on PS3). Needless to say, the weekend I had a stayover, with no coworkers around, and no work to do, I left the hotel for food only, otherwise it was like a 40 hour solid gaming spree (thank you hotel mini fridge and microwave!)

I dreamed of an argument on why i also would have trouble letting Orlais into Ferelden, where I hadn't even been thinking of it consciously in RL.... told my husband about said dream and had a rational discussion about it before I realized we were theorizing the history of fiction lol Too fun.

Step 1: If Disc is not currently in your PC/X Box/PS3 skip to Step 5
Step 2: Turn on your PC/360/PS3
Step 3: Remove disc
Step 4: Return disc to proper packaging
Step 5: Find trusted person
Step 6: Give game to trusted person
Step 7: Instruct trusted person to keep the game from you for a designated period of time (I recommend a minimum of 3 months)
Step 8: Find a new addiction to occupy your time
Step 9: Enjoy
Step 10: Seek advice for a 12 Step program for your new addiction
Step 11: Follow new 12 step program
Step 12: Start playing DA:O again.

I can't recall what Zevran was doing in my dream last night, but it had something to do with a highschool reunion, work, and fighting dark spawn.
My husband has quit asking me "So, what do you want to do after work tonight." Since he knows I want to get all the possible endings and origin stories.....
I even gamed while watching the Vikings *sadly* go down......I think DA:O saved my sanity on Sunday.
DPSSOC: I wonder how long it would take to get to step 12? Hmm.....

Oh ugh, I know what you mean. I'm a Zevran romance-aholic.

I find myself needing to turn down my computer volume every time I have a romantic interaction with Alistair - just so my husband does not hear it (just too embarrassing)!! I just cannot resist planting a huge kiss on him every time we get through a really tough battle, it feels so satisfying. I swear, it feels as if I am cheating on my husband when romancing Alistair *giggles*

I've started calling my dog Oliver, Alistair in error.

Well having gone through this 12 step Program with Mass Effect it took me 18 months to get to 12. The trick for a long lasting program is to find really odd addictions. You would be surprised how long you can be addicted to origami before realizing you have a problem.

You will burn out eventually until something new comes out for DA. I actually spend more time on these forums than I do playing DA these days.
Since my version is on MAC, I have not been playing as long as others out there. I am ready for an expansion though, I must admit.

I am still at the admitting I am powerless stage, and yet...somehow I think this is perfectly o.k. :innocent:
