Hey everyone JoeTheQuarian here and today I decided to count down the top 10 overlooked Mass Effect characters. These are the characters that didn't get as much love as other characters yet crucially deserved it.
10. Wrex
Most here are probably thinking, "Wrex? He was like my best bro in ME" but according to Bioware only 36% of players got to see Wrex in ME3. Let me just say now: if you didn't see Wrex in ME3 then go back and replay the trilogy. Bringing him along is wroth it especially in ME3: Citadel.
9. Saren Arterius
With Martin Sheens flawless performance as the Illusive man in ME2 most players forgot about Sarens interesting struggle and realization of indoctrination. Throughout the books and games Saren was above all else ruthless and did anything to get the job done and he always generally thought he was doing the right thing up until the very end.
8. Space Hamster
If you haven't acquired the space hamster in ME2 or ME3 then you haven't played Mass Effect.
7. Jack
A lot of players hated Jack when they first met her including me. You really have to stay with her. Her loyalty mission really made me realize that he went through a lot and just needed a friend.
6. Matriarch Benezia
Much like Saren Benezia was clouded by other strong villains in Mass Effect despite her interesting arc of indoctrination. Her final words always stick with me. "No light. They always said there would be a..."
5. James Vega
Most ignored James before the game was even out when Freddie Prinze Jr. was announced as his voice actor but despite Freddies past experience in the entertainment industry he makes a really great voice for James making him funny (especially when giving nicknames to squad mates) yet still serous at times making it completely believable.
4. Captain Kirrahe
Kirrahe is one of my favorites on this list. No one could forget that epic speech on Virmire in ME1. "We will hold the line!" While he was memorable most players didn't take the necessary steps on Virmire to keep him alive and to see him again in ME3. I would strongly suggest saving him every time.
3. Feron
Being one of the few known Drell in Mass Effect Feron was much like Thane: a straight up Bad A. Ferons main appearance was in the comic Mass Effect Redemption but he was in Lair of the Shadow Broker.
2. Kaiden Alenko
Many consider Kaiden boring and uninteresting and saved Ash over him but I see him as a personal friend for my Shep especially in ME3. If you compare Ash and Kaiden Ash always judges Shep in saying he is some sort of Cerberus pawn while Kaiden is very understanding making him (in my opinion) the better friend.
1. Kahlee Sanders
Finally we've reached the end of the list and #1 is someone who is barely even in the games. Kahlee Sanders is one of my favorite Mass Effect characters in general and her main presence is in the novels. Kahlee is a top scientist working for the Alliance and has been on plenty of adventures. A lot of fans simply skipped over Kahlee in the books not even bothering to pick them up. Let me be the first to say that I usually NEVER read books yet I strongly enjoyed the Mass Effect novels (probably because of my shear ME fandom). Having said that I strongly suggest the Mass Effect books.
Agree with my list? Did I miss someone? Who do you think is the most overlooked Mass Effect character?
