Like many other DAO/DA2/DAI/RPG players on the forum, and in the world, i want the return of the Radial Spell menu...

Please Bioware don't limit us to 8 spells, this is Dragon Age 3, and in Dragon Age there is always a Radial Spell Menu, so Please patch this and return the radial spells menu you have stolen ... ;)

Dragon age without Radial spell menu isn't Dragon Age...

Yes, I'm with this. So many abilities that I can't use. Plus give PC players back hotkeys. It's ridiculous that there's only 8 abilities that can be utilized at a time, especially for PC users.

If they never fix anything at all, they could release a modkit/sdk, so that users could fix it for them! :)

I do miss the convenience of the radial menu, but I will be happy with any addition to the GUI that will allow my PC full access to all abilities in every fight.

We should do a exalted march against Bioware for the return of the Radial Spell menu ...

Are you for an exalted march Inquisitors ? are you for the return of Radial spells menu inquisitors ?
If yes, bring your sword, staff, bows, armors,  and let's go besiege Bioware !!! Tell your friends, to come - 1 free offered Lichen dwarve beer or hydromel to everyone which come to grow our rank for the Great Return of Radial Spells menu !!!!

PS : To peoples which don't remember why a Radial spell menu is essential in RPG, here is why :

Our controllers have actually only 8 buttons (+ 4 arrows), and DAI is limited to only using of 8 speells actually (AI don't use the spells if not mapped to a controller button)...

So this is why RPG creators invented the Radial Spells menu, A radial spell menu permit to access any spells (any spells/capacity you unlocked) during the battle, and not only the spells mapped to controller button...

Radial menu, more hot keys, hell, anything that removes this ridiculous 8 slot limit would be fine. As far as I'm concerned, this is every bit as bad as the damn recycled dungeons from DA2, because i have to deal with this in every single fight.

They had to make it work for multiplayer. In which you can't pause. even looking up abilities in real time would get you killed. They had to do the same thing for Mass Effect.

I strongly disagree! You had the skill-wheel in the singleplayer in ME3. So your argument is complete nonsense!

This whole decision to ban the access to skills and such from the wheel is complete nonsense ...

i'm sorry, but in Mass Effect Radial spell menu exist... How do you think you can control the spells Liara use, or Mordin, or Garrus ???

How could we launch Garrus spells, or any of the companions spells without the radial spell menu...

There is an radial spell menu in Mass Effect 1/2/3...

There is a radial spell where you could switch weapons and use their spells in ME1/ME2/ME3... Didn't you remember - of course no radial menu in multiplayer but ME3 isn't a multiplayer game, it is a story game + an very good multiplayer mode ...

In ME1/2/3 AI use all the special power/capacity (spells)

DAI/ME3 Mutiplayer is another aspect of the game, in Multiplayer the tactical camera don't exist, of course, we can't pause in Multi.. do you think they should remove also the tactical camera in campaign mode because in we can't use it in Multiplayer ?

Us DRAGON AGE PLAYERS / MASS EFFECT players haven't buy Mass effect or Dragon age for the Multiplayer, us the original bioware supporter buy those games because of the story...

Of course i have played 1,5 year of more to the ME3 multiplayer, but firstly, before ME3, i had never played multiplayer games (except Vendetta online on macintosh... and may be an old Battlefield on Mac or pc can't remember, but one of the first one)...

We are story players ... This is what RPG is : A story in which we are the hero...  This is what Dragon Age / Mass effect are : A story where you are the Hero... in Mass Effect we saved the entire galaxy, unified even the Geth and the quarians, pacified the Krogans, even the reapers are pacified now, and they help us instead of reaping us... the entire galaxy is one people (un seul peuple) now... :)

And in Dragon Age we (the hero) unified all the nation of Thedas, Dwarves, Dalish, Elvens, Mages, templars, even the werewolves (depending your choice)...

Don't you remember the paper RPG books we had when we were tennagers ? the books where you were the hero with choice? it is the same, you read the choice possibility at your disposal, you think about it, you make your decision, and you go to page 3 or 4 or 5 depending your choice on page 1 ...

In RPG game (game where you pause to think about tactic /spell you will use) radiant menu is essential, specially on console because we don't have keyboard to map 25 spells to 25 keyboard keys...

And limiting us to 8 spells (us and the AI/IA), because they want to put a game on the market too quickly, before christmas (end of the fiscal year - and the period where people spend the more money in the year) and they have forgotten to include the code of the Radiant spell menu ...

it is a SHAME ...

This desserve our foot in their ... or an exalted march against them...

Think about it, Bioware are the Corypheus templars, we are the Circle mage and the chantry loyal templars, and since Dragon Age 3, Bioware the templars want to restrain us to  only 8 spells because they fear we became a too strong mage/warrior ? Next step is push us to play Dragon Age 4 with our feets or our teeth ? or without controller ?

I mean where is the logical to restrain  us to 8 spells ? Spells / capacity are for a warrior/rogue : special Move/special trick,  for a mage : Magic formula they can recite... Once a warrior/rogue/mage learned those technics/magic formulas, they can execute each one of them on the battlefield...

It is not like if they had a special device specific to each move/spells and they can only have one with them at a time because this special device if too heavy... Spells are mental, warrior capacities are physic (they learned them they are definitively part of them)...

@fcedric

I do not believe that the design choices made and the decision to release a game that is heavily oversimplyfied in some areas is by necessity!

I do not believe it is because of time constraints or anything like it.

I think it was deliberate and that they try to get away with as much oversimplification as possible this time around.

They are testing the market for that sort of stuff !!!

By releasing it in this state ... I think they try to out-maneuver us RPG fans all together!

They are up to something ... And as far as I am concerned: This is not DA3 - it is DA2 2.0 !!!

They are playing around with their stupid market-strategies ...

And in their minds - we are the tools/fools who are supposed to take the bait!

Don't give in - don't believe them anything, fcedric! :D

Sure, they are testing the market and removing the most important functionality in an RPG game ???

Non sense...

THE RADIAL SPELL which is present in many games (games with spells) - the damned thing (radial spell menu) is the best invention in Games console games, and pc games ( useful with mouse)...  -_-

We play RPG magic game to earn point to earn spells; and of course to use those spells/capacity... How could we use 12 hardly earned spells with only 8 buttons 2x4 -> Good answer is : THE DAMN THING (The radial Spells menu)

40 years ago one guy invented RPG Books with spells (spells on the paper - you imagine them)

30 years ago one guy invented personal computer (like my old amtsrad when i was 10 year old)

29,99 years ago another guy invented games and RPG games based on RPG books for those Amstrad, Amiga,

29,98 years ago the same guy, or his friends had the idea to create games for personal computers (because we need games)

29,97 another friend of the guy who created Amiga had the idea to pass RPG book to Amiga/Amstrad (personnal computers) Controller was called joystick at this time and on joystick is was only 2 or 3 buttons...

29,95 years ago, after month of reflection (thinking until his brain was over heating) the guy had the idea to create the Radial menu to permit Amiga/Amstrad/Atari gamers to use more spells in Battle...

This is what Bioware have killed with DAI... It is a philosophy which had been scorched this 18 november 2014, the release date of DAI...

The 18 november 2014 Bioware commit a immense crime against gamer'com'h'u'ma'nity they KILLED THE RADIAL SPELL MENU, they FORGOTTEN to copy/paste 3 lines of code, but which 3 lines of code ? which code ? THE MOST IMPORTANT 4 LINES OF CODE IN THOSE 30 YEARS OF GAMES ....

THE CODE OF RADIAL SPELL MENU...

The damn thing which permit to access all your weapons, all your spells in all games ...

the damn important thing, the damn more essential thing in those 30 years of RPG (Dungeon & dragon had it)

... if that helps, I will wait ..." *

... hours pass ...

*calls fcedric*

fcedric, I have bad news! The cops were all COD-players ... Nothing good will come from working with them ...

But hey, maybe in 5 years when all of them are hooked on that "TOM CLANCY" RPG - you know, "The Division" ?!

Maybe then they will understand it? ... UGHhh - Cops! They can be rather useless at times ...

*Edit

P.S.: Ofcourse the removal of the radial-menu-access to the skills and the limitation to eight skills at a time is complete BS ... That is why I say it is DA2-2.0 and it is why I say: "Don't give in - they are lying to us!" If we swallow this nonsense - AAA-RPG-gaming is DEAD!

I remember, around 8 months ago, when the 8 ability limit got "announced". I said it on these boards, that gamers would be upset about this, and that it was a rotten design choice. I even explained why it was a poor choice. Fanboys freaked out on me, and a dev sent me a very angry PM.

Now I am leaning back, stretching my legs and purring. Knowing I was right all along.

(Yes, I know. I am having a low, pitiful, "I told you so" moment. I admit it.)

Seriously ? they have announced it ? they should have put it on the graphic visual of Inquisition (on posters/DVD box, Visual on PSN)...

To let us know this aberration before we buy it...

And why the developper sent you an angry message ? was they fear we knew about this, and make a bad communication to the game... So did they wanted to chew us ?

Who come on this forum one year before a game come on the market... we have work, other thing to do... i love Dragon Age, and Mass Effect, but i will not spend my life on the forum... Time to time i check on game internet sites (portals) about news for ME4 / DAI but that's all...

I'm probably one of the first European player of DAO (and surely one of the 100 first DAO players in Africa) - i ordered it on ebay from HongKong to have it immediatly., it took 11 days to reach my PS3..

i'm coming on forums only when i have a problem with something (game, software, computer, bugs, crashes, materials...)

Usually i give my confidence to Bioware for DAO/ME, and i don't want to be spoiled ... But this time i was really really disappointed  by Bioware for Dragon Age 4 (because of the radial/tactics rows lack - this system was good - usually we don't change a winning team), i had been also a bit disappointed by Bioware for DA2 because it was not a story of wardens and darkspawns.. And also because i was tired of the Kirkwall corridors copy/pasting (where you go in DA2, it was always the same map, duplicated, cutted, rearranged)... but combat mechanic was more dynamic...

I loved DAO because of it great freedoms about the gameplay, the maps, and particularly the dialogs with the characters...

In DAO, Wynne, Lelianna was great Story tellers... The immersion was incredible... Dialogs even in french, was really really fine written, and read by the people who done the VF... And many of my friends think the same thing... (we are not teenagers)...

Ok the combat system was not perfect, and the AI also, but we could programm the AI/IA as we want, and once programmed compagnons was perfectly acting during battle...

In DAI, we have lost the customization of tactics, and the possibility of using all the spells during battle, they restrained the gameplay (ils ont bridé le gameplay)...

With the radiant menu to access all the spells, and the tactics rows system of DAO/DA2, this game could have been perfect...

And DAI still can be perfect (on PS4/PC) they just need to restore what have been brocken (what have been stolen by a damned marketing research man)

What was the dev angry about? Seems like a strange response.
