I wouldn't really call the Kirkwall incident genocide btw, the mages were fully capable of defending themselves & was pretty much a even battle untill Hawke gets involved for either side

No it isn't. Unless Hawke helps the mages, the Templars will slaughter the Gallows mages and that includes children.

 

Also, it is genocide. They are being specifically targeted because they are mages.

It was a battle IMO & i kinda doubt people would call it genocide if the mages had won by destroying the templars in Kirkwall entirely

Maybe because the Templars are there to kill all the mages while the mages were trying to defend themselves. They weren't trying to kill all the templars
