Eww don't bring the lorerape that is TESO into this

I'd rather not, but unfortunately lore is lore.

And they had a few good pieces in it, so I can't just accept the good and leave out the bad, or I'd be a hypocrite for only accepting Skyrim's newer account for what the Empire did in Oblivion.

There's been conflict between a lot of nations that are allies later. Nords sided with the Direnni Altmer against the Alessian order. The Nordic king then? Hoag "Merkiller" lol. And then TESO came along... any alliance is possible. High Rock has no reason not to join, and their conflict back then was within Skyrim ages ago.

I'm rather skeptical but I'm not denying possibility. Nords already hold occupied Breton lands so that's a bit of deal breaker on its own. Not to mention Bretons are "rotten eggs" of humans anyhow, too many extremes view them as half elf mongrels who inherited the elven efficiency with magic. Bretons are a bit of isolationists because of this.

They don't hold any breton land, the reach is of the reachmen, a people bretons disown, and who even they don't like.

I meant Jehenna and I'm sure its not that simple, its convenient to disown your own people when they are fighting with an enemy that can defeat you as it did your kin. Bretons have many elven traits and to be honest the only thing making them human is their appearance. They have very long lives compared to other  humans, they are good with magic specially arcane (conjuration) which is practiced and mastered by elves and some other factors.

Oh that was hundreds of years ago. If anything this is good. They can use this as leverage for negotiating. Same for dragonstar and the redguards. That's what I did in my roleplay.

And yea, it really is that easy. Bretons don't give a damn about reachmen, they say that plain as day in Markarth. Reachmen are even more mixed up than bretons.

Also no, bretons age like men.

http://www.uesp.net/..._the_Empire_v_2

When Cassynder assumed the throne upon the death of his mother, he was already middle-aged. Only half Elven, he aged like a Breton. In fact, he had left the rule of Wayrest to his half-brother Uriel due to poor health. Nevertheless, as the only true blood relation of Pelagius and thus Tiber, he was pressed into accepting the throne. To no one's surprise, the Emperor Cassynder's reign did not last long. In two years he joined his predecessors in eternal slumber.

Before playing DAI I would have said the circles needed to be rid of. But after hearing Vivienne on how circles are suppose to operate; that is they are places of study first and foremost. They are not prisons for mages, because with permission from the first enchanter mages can live away from the circles.

My opinion is yes mages should be free, but with circles intact. Mages should govern themselves and templar duties should be only to protect the innocent. That's why Viv makes the best Divine IMO

You know how some say all cultures are equal? This being a lie is evident by Nord culture inferior to Imperial. =P

Anyway i'm only up to part 3, going real slow. Lots of distractions atm

Don't worry about it, I'm about to go to bed. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss there, since yet again TES hijacked a thread, lol.

Also, no, mages shouldn't be free, lol.

At least not 100 percent free. There should be more lenience though.

I guess I'd be pretty much Nord if I'd live in Skyrim cause I'm from North Europe. Maybe that's why I prefer siding with them as well.

To talk if we should kill all the mages or kill the templars aka mage vs templar talk, I don't think anyone ever has 100% freedom. There are always laws and restrictions. So taking look at risks that mages have Circles are pretty much only way to ensure protection of common folk and mages themselves. Same freedom that common folks have without mandatory training and templars to take care of mages who became abominations or were involved in other criminal activity would just be catastrophe where tons of mages would kill people by accident, become abominations and kill villages of people like Connor almost did etc.

You can call them Circles or whatever you want but something is needed for mages that teaches them to be responsible with their magic though that would still restrict their freedom.

There are people on this thread that think that Skyrim will beat the Dominion on its own and not as united a Empire of Tamriel.

They don't havê to. The Domínion is literally at the other corner of the continent. They'd havê to fight through the Empire just to get to Skyrim. Só, when you think about it, the only reason there are Thalmor in Skyrim is because the Empire lets them in.

Só, that damned useless coward of an emperor just signs away the freedom of his subjects? Then they should leave the Empire. Let him be emperor of nothing.

I also got the feeling a lot of the Stormcloaks suppoter seeing the civil war in the wrong way, and think it's Nord vs Imperial, and Skyrim vs the Empire, as if there are no infighting and the entire province wasn't divided by civil war, while a Nords who support the Empire or serve in the Imperial Legion isn't exist.

It would make perfect sense to headcanon a Thalmor agent and help stormcloaks win. Whatever to weaken the empire. If High Elves capture Cyrodiil it will weaken the human foothold immensely.

True the Empire suffered many defeats against the Thalmor but they turned around at the siege of Imperial city and that's when it mattered most.

I don't think it's headcanon since the final sentence from Thalmor Dossier: Ulfric Stormcloak mention how the Thalmor must carefully manage their indirect aid to the Stormcloaks.

"so even indirect aid to the Stormcloaks must be carefully managed."

It is hinted that Thalmor aid the Stormcloaks indirectly, and it's obvious that the civil war in Skyrim benefit them. The Empire is weakened, mankind's domain is weakened as a whole, and the Thalmor want to prolong this war.
