You know how some say all cultures are equal? This being a lie is evident by Nord culture inferior to Imperial. =P

Doubtful, since the Cyrods appropriated a large amount of Nordic cultural customs and even religious deities following the Alessian Slave Rebellion.   ;)

It would make perfect sense to headcanon a Thalmor agent and help stormcloaks win. Whatever to weaken the empire. If High Elves capture Cyrodiil it will weaken the human foothold immensely.

True the Empire suffered many defeats against the Thalmor but they turned around at the siege of Imperial city and that's when it mattered most.

I don't think it's headcanon since the final sentence from Thalmor Dossier: Ulfric Stormcloak mention how the Thalmor must carefully manage their indirect aid to the Stormcloaks.

"so even indirect aid to the Stormcloaks must be carefully managed."

It is hinted that Thalmor aid the Stormcloaks indirectly, and it's obvious that the civil war in Skyrim benefit them. The Empire is weakened, mankind's domain is weakened as a whole, and the Thalmor want to prolong this war.

Once again you don't understand the situation at all. It says at the end "An Empire victory is also to be avoided."

They want a civil war, they don't want Skyrim seceding. That would be foolish, as the Nords are the ones pushing for war against the Dominion. If they do, it will no doubt be on Cyrodiil's doorstep, or in Cyrodiil itself. The Empire would have no choice but to fight too, and sooner.

Yeah the Skyrim ranting makes me think mages should still be free. So thanks, guys.

Locking up a person because they can potentially be a threat is making that person less than normal, basically punishing them for being born. That's the message that is sent across, and I feel that is portrayed very well in the DA universe. And that is never conducive for a healthy society, which was why war was inevitable. An oppressed people will eventually rise up, unless they are brainwashed into believing otherwise.

Truthfully, I always feel Loghain did more damage than any abomination I met in the games, and left the potential to do more damage. Any person in power has that potential. So I never buy the argument that mages being locked up is best for everyone.

And it is especially hypocritical in the different nations to not want mages, unless they are at war.

They are less than normal. Or more than normal, to be more accurate. That's the whole point.

Morality only goes so far. In the end, what prevails is reality. And the reality is that mages are dangerous and on some level must be regulated. The elves, qunari, southern and northern Thedas all recognize this on one level or another.

People in power absolutely can do more damage than any one normal abomination. Now how is that an argument for letting the abominations form whenever and wherever fate would have it happen? Being not the worst thing doesn't make them not bad things.

Scandinavia is a region with 4 countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. That's been the case for how long now? Too long. You are from the Scandinavia region while being Norwegian. You claiming you are not Scandinavian is like a French claiming he is not from western Europe.

I'm american, so scandinavian or not, that's the dumbest argument I've heard to date. Hell, I'm a biracial american. My mother is black.

What's that say about me or the stormcloaks?

Free but with restrictions. Soley because they can be possessed. They should be able to not have to live in a Circle a circle should be like a college.

Well its not true about all nord fans, obviously. But the appeal is there, people from Scandinavia are even called Nordic people and their culture matches with old viking culture as well. Its natural for a Nord to like Nords. But as I said not everyone. I actually know a zealot supporter of Thalmor who is from Sweden.

How many scandinavian gamers really are there though in relation to gamers elsewhere? It's an american game and the stormcloaks are basically bravehearts yelling FREEEDOMMMM! Which accurate or not depending on your opinion appeals to us just as much as the Nords being nordy appeals to a scandinavian. Meaning I'd be like "I wonder how many of these stormcloak fans are yankees?" if anything.

Even though everyone knows Americans are filled with roman fanboys.

I agree though, people are attracted from every origin to things they can connect to.

And duh, United States is the only country after Rome with a Senate and actual Senators. The people in charge of your country are Roman fanboys

Mages don't worry me. And I don't believe the templars when they say I should be worried. I'm more likely to be shanked in a bar than eaten by an abomination. You can hear those coming a mile away.

What restrictions other than having to live someplace where Templars and other mages can keep an eye on them would stop an abomination forming in an urban area though? (Or make it appreciably less likely, since it's still provably possible for abominations to form in... say, Redcliffe or Denerim?)

Can you run a mile faster than they can?

Breton? Hell no. Not an elven bone in my body. I'd be a redguard Stormcloak if I was suddenly shoved in Tamriel.

Race of the mother decides the race of the child.

I was referring to the half/lineage is all, didn't mean the elven bit.

So Nord Father and Redguard mother stormcloak?

Heh yea, I overreact anytime someone suggests something elvish of me, lol. Beyond my kinks and Fiona lust, lol. In TES, I love me some Niranye....

Anyway, yea more or less. My father's mixed too. His mom would be a nord, so he'd be nord, and my mom's redguard, so at most I'd be a light skinned redguard Stormcloak. Lol.

Empire abandoned Hammerfell, so that'd be enough reason for me to side with the Stormcloaks. Yelling "It's about time you guys decided to quit!" While slicing through imps with my dual sabers.

>Finland is part of Scandinavia

Their language isn't Germanic, they historically have ties closer to Russia than the West (not always intentionally), and numerous other reasons, such as their native religions and customs.

Right. I usually play as a Dunmer myself. Or an orc. I think out of all the races, these two are probably the most neutral (but not really) in the whole conflict. My orc became a stormcloak because he figured that the Nords gave his people the strongholds and let them have their own culture within, and the Empire hasn't been kind to the orcs. My Dunmer actually became a Vampire Lord under Harkon and cares diddly squat about the war. He's more interested in building his own kingdom under the eyes of both sides, a kingdom of vampires.
