Yea I think Dunmer could go either way.

On one hand, you have the lame ass reject Dunmer who do nothing but whine and ****** an-

Wait, sorry. I let my bias get the better of me

On one hand, you've got the disgruntled dunmer from the grey quarters who do side with the Empire, and the Nords and Dunmer have been enemies for a while in the past.

On the other hand, you have the real N'wahs up in this ****** from the mainland that remember the Empire abandoning them in the events of Oblivion (new lore retconned the old) and the dunmer in Solstheim will tell you they have no love for them, or house Hlaalu who sided with them.

So it depends on what kind of Dunmer are you. Uncle Tom, or a REAL N'wah, lol.

(yes I know they call outsiders n'wahs, lol. Just go with it  )

Shrimp getting independence with a leader like Ulfric. Say hello to Dominion rule. Hammerfell is a totally different situation. The empire f'ed up there. Ulfric is a power hungry douche. Long live the Empire!
And I think the circles should definitely be issued with more mage freedoms but not for them to run wild. Like we need another Tevinter. Stuck up murderers who believe mages are the best thing ever, right next to the massive empire they want again. Tevinter and Dalish are the same in mind set, living on past glories they can't reclaim. Tevinter will never get there empire back and Dalish will never get land again. It's a human age and some just want to go down swinging. So respect to the Dalish.

Well the type of Dunmer I play has no love at all for the empire, little respect for Ulfric (for a personal headcanoned reason and nothing to do with the lore, just made a background that he had a bad experience from one of the racist nords of Windhelm and he judges the stormcloaks based on that) and is a power-hungry-magic-using-sociopath.

He doesn't connect well with others, is a master of conjuration, particularly necromancy, and illusion. He has no problems messing with someone's head and having others do the fighting for him, and enjoys manipulating others into doing just that. He has no qualms with getting his hands dirty, actually takes some pleasure from it, but I roleplay him as joining the college of winterhold and the dark brotherood. One to hone his skills and one for his own sick pleasure.

He later finds Serana and gets offered to be made a Vampire Lord, an offer he accepts, and after taking Harkon's place, is in the process of building his own kingdom of vampires under the noses of the thalmor, whom he despises, the empire, whom he despises, and the stormcloaks, whom he can barely tolerate. The day is coming soon where he will use Auriel's Bow and declare his power. But until he's ready, he and his court wait in the shadows, growing stronger, feeding on the blood of all sides, and Sithis laughs.

That's my Dunmer in a nutshell.  ;)

There's nothing to support any of what you just said on the first one. You won't find any dialogue supporting Ulfric's so called selfish need to be king just to be king. He shows a genuine desire to rule well like his father and ysgramor, and Skyrim is the most defensible location from the dominion in Tamriel. Surrounded by natural barriers, and the logistics of an invasion are bad and you should feel bad.

I agree with the natural barriers and the weather as you mentioned in your stormcloak bible bit.

It'd be like when Napolean invaded russia. It was the terrain and weather that lost the war, not soldiers.

throw in that they'd have to cross either Imperial Lands in Cyrodil and High Rock to invade by land, or sail halfway across Tamriel into a frozen ocean for by sea

You'll run into French speaking people in capetown is it part of France?

Of course not.

Were neighbors nothing more.

Well yes, that goes without saying. Or it was said, and ColnalKillabee does a very good job discussing that in his stormcloak bible.

Plus, the Abacean Sea is teeming with pirates, Sloads, and Maormer.

It would be a miracle if even one Aldmeri soldier made it to Skyrim in one piece, much less alive.

that flies in the face of centuries of history, the Kalmar Union, the Bjalbo(not sure on the anglicized spelling) rule of Sweden and Norway, etc...

Its like trying to say America and Britain are just two English speaking countries

That's just what you said.

History.

Oh and believe me, I know history.

I also know us sharing a Monarch three centuries ago means less than nothing.

It's demeaning.

We aren't a collective people, we are individuals.

We are our own countries, with our own languages, culture, belief and hatred of England.

Well maybe that's just Sweden...

Yes free to stay in the circle or in  a deep and very  deep  forest like  Flemeth or in  a   country  only for mages.

As a Finn I have to disagree with this :P

It shows that Scandinavian countries (that Finland is more or less part of) have lot of similarities in terms of society, goverment, culture, language (except Finland though we have lot of swedish borrow words) etc. Of cource the country has it's own culture but it inevitable shares lot of traits with it's neighbours.

As an American, I would rather eat a salmon. Fish is delicious. As is popcorn shrimp, chicken, and cow.

I heard you guys can go work, and stay in any other Scandinavian country like its another city in your own country. Without any sort of requirement including but not limited to visas and permits.

That pretty much shows how close you are.

You'd be wrong.

We have borders and paper work is required to cross them.
