Whatever, a few years in which Ulfric has still done absolute **** he's supposed to. The Grey Quarter is still a mess. There's unrest in the city, a Thieves Guild has established itself, bandits overwatch, and he wastes his time attacking his own people instead of preparing for the Thalmor. He's a shite leader, and it's time even Stormcloak supports accept the only thing he should do is leave being a king to the professionals. He can crack skulls. It's the only thing he's good at.

Contrary to popular belief, where do you think those discharged Legionaries go afterward if they weren't recalled? They are no longer part of the Imperial Legion, and they probably join forces with the Redguards resistance by now. It's why the writer used that title. Well, our argument run in circles, lol.

Indeed it would. Considering the circumstances, I doubt the legion would refuse them, But we don't know. All we know is it says they fought on alone from then on (shrug). No matter, it's a small thing.

Treat it as a school. Allow the mages to learn the potential and the dangers of their talent. Let them have their own room and relationships. Allow them to keep contact with their family. Be open about what the Harrowing is, and allow the mages to take it when they are ready. Get rid of Tranquility. 50/50 power between the mages and the templars because the templars are ultimately taking all the risk by overseeing the mages. Allow the mages to live as a normal person after they have shown the mental fortitude necessary to be left to their own devices. Allow supervised and well informed teaching of blood magic.

And the grey quarter was **** before he got there. Why should he bother with them anyway? That's an issue that can't be solved quickly or easily, especially with his limited funds. Big fish first, little fish second.

Nope. The mages of thedas has shown that a majority is capable of being stupid enough to go to war against the rest. The leash must be kept but someone not-insane must hold it.

Oh, you know it's better to fight and live to see the victory. Come on! you know the celebration afterward will be epic. Beside if you fight to the bitterness end there's two ways people will remember you as either heroic or stupid.

It maybe be about the Grey Quarter, but that's besides the point. Living for free in squalor isn't better than living on the streets when snow can still come through the roof.

Seceding from the empire is an old problem, and the monument isn't actually specifically about solstheim. You can read it yourself. Solstheim is part of the deal:

Just become a vampire lord, rise to the head of Harkon's clan, and start silently building a kingdom under the Dominion's, Empire's and Stormcloaks noses. Slowly turn thalmor agents into thralls, capture stormcloak and imperial messengers on the road and turn them into vampires, and when they are loyal, send them back to serve their faction as insider agents, slowly turn the lieutenants, then the captains into thralls and/or vampires. Justicars for the dominion will be captured, interrogated, bled dry before becoming thralls or vampires in turn. 

 

The power of the vampire shall rise, and no one, dominion, stormcloak or empire can stand before the might of the blood!
