Oh, it can get worse. Random NPC groupies who just can't get enough of the protagonist just showing up at your door. All the time.

I wouldn't mind if it was just a fling with concubines for my Inquisitor. I doubt Cassandra would like that much.

They knew what it was.

Have you noticed that as a straight female in ME3 has 0 options if she chose ashley? Ooh and lets not forget how the straight male got the whole OGB thing, in DAO. Then there is the fact gay guys got 0 LI until ME3.

Krist, it's one damn game out of how many where girls get more choice than guys, and suddenly the world is ending. A lot of the OP's of these kinds of threads remind me of toddlers, throwing a tantrum.

Yep that's the issue I have with ME3. I wouldn't have minded the unequal options so far if everyone at least had a option. But 0 or 1 LI's aren't enough for me in ME3, in my case it was Kaidan or none since you can't romance Garrus in ME3 if you didn't in ME2. Straight males will always have options to romance at least Liara (and Diana Allers) no matter what they have done in previous games.

yeah but if you didn't romance Garrus in the second game then you aren't playing right anyway.

Oh Diana Allers doesn't count.

I approve of this.

As a side note, I don't think the percentages among male/female romances in other games...let alone other series should matter when we discuss da:i.

I've never played any me game -shooters- and I don't think what happened in any of these games is or should be of any importance when judging the possible experiences a player can have in da:i.

Each game is an individual, complete product.

If you read my other post i said i was fine with it being 2-2-2 with sexualities and i am not asking them to change how they write. I just want everyone to get the same options and no one getting less.

Nobody got less. The issue is nobody got who they wanted to romance. I just wish people would admit that.

Meh I prefer Thane.

ME wiki counts Allers but I'd count her more as fling than romance so yep..  However Kaidan=Ashley and there is no equilevant of Liara for straight female characters who they could romance in ME3 no matter what. BW should just made Garrus available like Liara not restrict his romance.

he just pointed out how it wasn't fair though?

No you guys had Garrus..I would say we  were shafted in ME3 because we couldn't romance him.

And yes it sucks you couldn't romance garrus but the writers chose to write him that way.   When all is said and done...the writers have the right to create the characters how they envision them.  Its selfish of us to demand that they change them to suit our needs.   I romanced Dorian with a male character. I have no issues with that. I am in the middle of a playthrough with a male qunari for Cassandra.

I do not expect the writers to cater to me and I think its selfish for others to do so.  (I'm not saying you)

Diana Allers was an abomination and should have never been created in the first place but thats another thread altogether.

Wrong one group got 4 options while 3 other groups got 2 in Dai.

Do not see why you are being aggresive i want it equal in all bioware games i am just pointing out bioware need to do a better job with the romances. And give everyone equal options you are right about me3 that was not fair.

Sorry for being hostile. I just don't believe this is about fairness anymore the majority of people. I think people are still upset about not getting who they want to romance and that really annoys me because thats basically asking the writers to change their vision and I do not think thats fair at all.

Sorry...we will have to agree to disagree. I believe there was a post from one of the developers that explained why it was fair and I agree with it.

I just don't believe the writers/developers owe us anything.

Technically, given in story events, the balance isnt 2x2x2x4

I would argue that given how solas and blackwall were written in game with their vanish and later reveal who they are paths in game, that they arent real romance options as much as odd characters with high tragedy/failed path endings. Outliers ccompare to the other romance options.

So the balance is really 2x2x2x2, with the 2 being cullen and sera. 1 romance option if you play a dwarf or qunari.

Enjoy that bit of insight.

I've wondered if Cullen wasn't originally intended the straight female/gay male bi option before the clamoring began for Qunari romance, and they decided to un-race gate Iron Bull. Cullen and Josie would have been something like book-ends, bisexual advisors available to players who wanted a "sweet" romance. Unfortunately, making IB the bi romance left heterosexual female characters with a choice between someone who would leave them lying naked and alone in a barn and someone likely physically to injure them. Coming on the heels of ME3 I think Bioware rightly judged that releasing the game in that configuration was not in their interest and partially restored Cullen so that straight female characters would, like every else, have access to a "nice" romance. Other characters can romance either Josie or Dorian, who may not be to particular players' tastes, but who don't come with what some players were likely to consider actively offensive baggage.

The Solas romance, I'm guessing, was added more for lore/story reasons than to provide players of female elves with another romance choice, and I'd recommend that any player actively interested in lore experience it, regardless of their sexuality.

I don't really care. It's not like just because I'm a dude, I can't play as a female and enjoy their romances. I'm sure many women do the same to the male romances.

If the next game comes out with more male romances than female romances, I don't think anyone would care.

Actually I know BSN would care. But I wouldn't care.

You mean, kind of like if there would be a new thread about every three days complaining about the limited/fewer/ugly/bi options for straight male Inquisitors for the last two months?

Yeah, I can see how that would be really annoying.
