All lunacy aside, you'd think you folks would have learned to be careful what you ask for. There's nothing that happened in DA2 and that's being complained about here that wasn't directly spawned by complaints about Origins. Bioware WILL try to answer your complaints and you may not like the result.

lol, sort of reminds me what happened at my college.

My college has two cafeterias, one of which had a taco bell, grill and salad area where students could go and get food and pay for it directly, or nonstudents. All you'd need is cash. But it was pre-cooked food placed under heating lamps to keep it warm and the students complained to the school over not having any option to have fresh food.

So during the summer the college renovated the GAG (Great American Gourment, name of the cafeteria, crappy acronym) and replaced Taco Bell with a Papa Johns pizza, so when classes started again they were serving fresh food in one of the cafeterias.

Were the students happy? lol, nope. They were now complaining that it took forever to get their food.

They wanted the fresh food, so they school started serving food fresh, which requires cooking it on site as ordered, and the students hated the wait.

It was funny. They got what what they wanted and still complained about it.

If were going for the "Straight Males always got everything" argument then shouldn't gay people have the most options? there the ones who have been less lucky with romances. You can complain all day about Baluders Gate having only 1 option for Straight women but Gay's got no one until the Enhanced Edition.

I don't see a reason why straight women couldn't have the most options in this game and a different demographic (gay men, lesbians?) have the most in a future game.  I genuinely don't have a problem with one group getting more options in a game, as long as those extra options get rotated around over the series so that it's not the same group getting the most options all the time.  In every Bioware game where one group gets more options except for DA 2, straight guys have had the most options.  In DA 2 and DA: I, straight women have the most options.  In DA 4 (or another Bioware game), why not have it be a different demographic.  As long as the rest of the demographics have at least two options, who cares if they don't have the most?

That being said, Gaider has already stated that he thinks that having a game with more options for gay or lesbian PCs would be 'putting the cart before the horse', so it's not likely to happen any time soon.  So that means that in reality, we can expect games to have either equal amounts for everyone or either straight men or straight women to get the most options.

Keep this up and there will be One romance for straight females, One for straight males, One Bi, One lesbian and One gay. And that will be all--that's if they don't decide to go the awakening route and have no romances at all. Seriously, think before you whine.

DA2 had a rushed development cycle so it's hard to tell what they did or didn't do based on complaints. No one asked for a rushed game.

DAI did the aim at even larger audience by trying to borrow elements from Skyrim, if anyone asked for this they didn't make it well known but it's unlikely as we know why EA did it.

People conflate asking for whining. It's stupid to not ask for what you want, you don't ask you don't get. No such thing as whining unless you think you should have it for reasons outside of "I will give you money"

Depends on what the person is being stubborn about.

In general no matter who got most options it's all options for my Inquisitors so I don't have problems with that. Unless it's one group all the time. But it's not like straight male PC is being shafted here, they have usual amount of options in DA games and share same amount options with lesbian and gay PC. Also if you don't like quantity of even quality no need to get all offensive and claim what attributes women should or should not have.

Not as offensive as bunch of guys using and inventing insulting words against women with attributes they don't personally find attractive. And claiming BW has  feminist agenda to design "ugly" women cause they want male gamers have to suffer (and yes there has been comments and even thread about this one).

What a pitty, I don't like the gay romanc options that much, so atould have been very pleased to have Cullen or Solas as an additional romance option for male inquisitor...well, let's hope, they'll give us Harding at least. She's very cute and would be our first dwarf romance. I'd even create a lesbian character for her.

Still, I'm sad that Cullen isn't a bisexual option. *cries* :´-(

This post made me laugh because if you literally took the same post and changed Cullen to say, Sera and gay to straight. Everyone in this thread would have jumped down your throat telling you to stop whining or calling you a misogynist. Funny aint it?

what horrible logic "other comments where made that I don't like so let's dismiss this one"

and on the second part way to build a strawman, do Bioware want to make male gamers suffer? of course not but the writers of DAI do have open views that I don't agree with

people complained in DA2 that it was unrealistic for all the LI's (i'm not counting sebastian as one because you don't get the paramour achievement for romancing him) to be available to both male and female hawke and demanded more "realistic" options.  we got it in DAI, but now people are complaining that there aren't enough romances for [insert demographic]  *facepalm*

the only thing that disappoints me about the romances this time around is that sera is the only female LI i'm even remotely interested in, but hey, can't blame anyone for that.

Comments have repeated themselves enough to see that there is pattern with this kind of threads.

And yes I don't like offensive comments against women.

Only against women? There are some who would say that is... sexist.

You tried to dismiss my comment by linking it to another

Negative does not always equal offensive, never mind that the character is fictional. But you have highlighted why people are so hostile to those that bring up this topic trolling or not, it's because people have the false idea that woman = women

You're joking right? All the posts calling straight men whiners, or crybabies or misogynists for daring to say they weren't happy with their romance options.

Also someone saying that they think a woman is ugly is not an insult to all women. Though I personally disagree with them (I think both Cassandra and Josie are both beautiful) they dont represent women everywhere. Insulting a woman isn't the same thing as insulting ALL women. Nor is it sexist.

The people saying things like "straight guys are crying now because they aren't being pandered to anymore" however ARE generalizing and insulting a whole group of people. Is that NOT offensive in your opinion?

I have said many times in here and other threads that I don't have problem stating that some character are unattractive to them or they don't want to romance her because of storyline/personality etc. as long as it stays out of sexist and offensive stuff. And also don't make threads about stupid stuff like "Cassandra is ugly butch" if you don't want negative response, right?

Finally yes those comments are offensive but they are usually answers to offensiviness of comments from large amount of these straight guys. Offensive comment tend to get replies in similar tones. Some commenters are unfairly generalized to be within groups they don't belong in though and might get insults in crossfire though. This is why these threads never stay open.

Well, it will if people start posting 10 recipes/page. Remember that Female Everywhere thread? That's a good example. The discussion in this thread had look exactly like the first 5 pages of that thread.

It wasn't the first five pages of that thread that lead to it getting closed though, it was due to trolls hijacking it and going so completely off topic that the thread lost any purpose it might've had. A tactic commonly used on the bsn to purposely get threads locked.

Threads being locked aren't any sort of proof of a lack of legitimacy however. I've already given my opinion on the modding on these boards though, and don't really want to open that can of worms.

In my viewpoint it found it's true purpose by having "females everywhere" ;)

The thread was troll since the OP post though.

LOL!!!

Females Everywhere was brilliant. It started out as a troll intending to ruffle feathers... they succeeded... then a group of people steered it into a different direction, discussing the pleasures of Tali's sweat graph, recipes and hot anime chicks.

It was classic.
