Again, i'm not talking about the "females everywhere" thread, I never posted in it. I have little interest in what happened in that thread.
I'm talking about people who deliberately (or at least try to) get threads locked because they don't like the message within.
And how is telling people to not post something that they think may be unpopular going to help? How is that NOT censoring them?
Not wanting people to disagree with them is why people are trolling threads and getting them closed in the first place. I'm arguing for the opposite, removing the troll posts and insults BUT leaving threads open (like they have done with the gay KISA thread) IS actually giving people the opportunity to disagree, so long as they do so in a civil and respectful manner.
I'm not telling people to not post something that is unpopular, I'm simply saying that if you want to post any opinions, better be prepared that someone, some people will be either offended, find your post a trolling, or simply disagree on various degree.
I'm on for discussion, that's why I'm not big into writing to a mod asking for a thread to be closed. Better stay at that thread & response politely & defend your point.
However, I must admit that some topics are just highly too controversial & sensitive (especially anything concerning sexuality, genders, race, etc) and mod intervention may be good. Topics like this will often cause sh*tstorm if uncontrolled since we are in the digital world where anonimity is quite easy.
And if I understand you correctly, we're actually quite on the same side
