uhm...there is a documentary about it. Watch it.
Watch a documentary on gay sex....
... No thanks, I'm good, lol.

Yeah and bara / gei comi (gay comics for men) are distinct from BL manga (m/m romance comics for women) in that the characters are muscular and very macho-looking.
Yeah. Here's a picture of the highest paid male fashion model in 2013. It's safe for work, but he's shirtless.
Now here's a shirtless picture of the most popular gay porn guy during that same year (again, safe for work, but shirtless)
There's a huge difference in their body types. It demonstrates that the fashion model skinny guys aren't necessarily what is "most popular" in gay audiences. That's my point.
There's varied representations of women too, people just focus on the negatives, as always.
And how is that a problem even if it were true, in a dang videogame meant for entertainment?
Why is everyone afraid of sex?
You guys start talking about gay porn suddenly, and it's the REST of the thread that's repulsive?
LOLOLOLOL
Sound logic.
I don't like 'calling people out' but I really feel like this needs some clarification. If people shouldn't be afraid of sex (and we shouldn't; the weird double standard that American culture, especially, has between sexuality and violence is...odd), then why would gay porn be repulsive? Or do you just find porn/the sex industry in general repulsive?
I mean, I'm not the sex industry's biggest fan or anything (don't want to get into it here but I think like most things it is far from a cut-and-dried, black-and-white issue; realistically it is always going to exist in some form or another so the priority should be on protecting the people involved and making sure everyone involved is safe, legal and consenting), and I'm no expert, but I don't see why gay porn would be any more repulsive than any other kind, be it Page 3 girls kind of stuff or full on hardcore videos of whatever.
uh...no it's about the porn industry as a whole. What can I say my wife likes such thingsWatch a documentary on gay sex....
... No thanks, I'm good, lol.
You'll probably get varying definitions
And this is why "bisexual" works for everyone who isn't an overly sensitive snowflake.
Dude, if you had dat ass you would show it off too! I mean, damn!
I won't lie, the **** was chiseled from Arlathan golden marble ![]()
Wow, lol. Posts got removed in case others are wondering why I didn't respond. I did.

I'll try and rephrase just for the record. Gay porn like all porn repulses me personally, but I'm not afraid of it to the point where I think it should be kept from game subject matter. I.E. I have no problem with Dorian existing, or his sex scenes being in games.
Admitting disgust of an act to my tastes isn't the same as being afraid of it. As I've shown, I'm certainly not afraid to talk about it, lol.
it's time for a switcheroo.
And I was wondering when you people would start talking about porn.

Fair enough. It was the juxtaposition of gay porn, specifically, and repulsive that I was questioning. I don't think there's anything wrong with not liking (or liking, for that matter) porn in a general sense.

I don't know how I should feel about immediately recognizing the man in the second photo.

I've never been prouder of you Dalya!

I'll be sure to pass my sexuality by the Acceptable Sexuality Committee so I'm not an "overly sensitive snowflake" next time. I've been identifying as pan for a decade, though, so I'm not going to stop just because some random guy on the internet thinks I'm trying to be ~special~. Sorry!
I'm not really sure why you felt the need to quote my post and be so rude, honestly.
It seems pretty pointless to me...

Indeed.
And with that, I completely forgot what this thread was about, and I'm surprised the mods didn't just lock the whole thing at that point, lol.
Something about Kelly chambers setting women back by fifty years with her perky bosom I guess, lol.
No, that's what we were talking about. Thread was about limited options for dudes....
CASSANDRA IS THE ONLY OPTION. DEAL WITH IT.

At least somebody is.
Yea I won't lie, I don't get the difference between bisexual and pansexual at all.
I see on google it says people attracted to any sex or gender identity... hows that different?
The bi community is still arguing on this one; I'm of the camp that says they're the same damn thing and "pansexual" is unnecessary. Others have different opinions; I tend to roll my eyes and move on.

I agree with your sentiments personally, and I'm surprised that trans people use pansexual in their vocabulary when the definition seems to go against what they always say, which is that trans men and women are men and women. Like Krem's fans and Bioware themselves.
Women do like same things that men do. But do you really think women should start liking badly written female characters? Fanservicey and poorly written one night stands that are cringe-worthy as best? Sexist environment that makes them feel uncomfortable?
I think the idea is that anyone just simply shouldn't play a game that makes them feel this way and leave it at that.
I don't know how I should feel about immediately recognizing the man in the second photo.
Well undoubtedly you should feel very naughty and in need of a spanking. *hand to mouth*

My understanding is that it's more than just trans people. There are people who don't identify as either gender (genderqueer). And people who identify with different genders at different times (gender fluid). And pansexual people would also be attracted to them, potentially, as well. I think the idea is that bisexual people are attracted to men and women and pansexual people are attracted to a person regardless of their gender identity. If that makes sense? I really had to wrap my head around pansexuality last year after seeing it on the board a lot. I think that, for the purposes of the game, bisexual and pansexual plays out the same way since the game doesn't allow you to be explicitly trans, gender fluid, or genderqueer. Like, there's no difference in how Iron Bull and Josephine's romance dynamics play out despite one of them being bisexual and the other being pansexual.
Does anyone else feel like all of these different categories are getting out of control? It's starting to feel like how metal sub-genres frequently sound like parodies.
"Progressive post-metalcore, haha, good one, sounds like it could almost be a real oh wait you were being serious."
Don't worry, I fall under one of these newfangled categories, so I can say this.

Now there's people that don't identify as male or female? What are they, dragons? I've heard of otherkin, lol, and that was a hoot to deal with. Never anyone that didn't identify with male or female. That's not even possible... there's only two options, the red pill or the blue pill, LOL. You can pick one, the other, or both, but neither?
Morpheus is confused.

Raises hand.
Seems like it'd be a lot easier accepting what you are.
Meh. I just report what I hear.
I feel pretty fortunate that I didn't have to deal with this personally. I had a rough enough time growing up gay and that's as a biological male who identifies as a male. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to feel as if my gender identity didn't match my biological sex. I can only go by what I hear from others who have experienced it first hand.
