I noticed about ten or so pages back a bunch of female gamers saying how they are not attracted to Geralt.

How is this different than all of the male players saying that they're not attracted to Cassandra or Josephine?

I find the cases bit difference cause I haven't seen female players demanding better looking men in games and saying that devs have some misogynist agenda by making ugly male characters (devs have been accused having feminist and even gay agenda for having ugly females in the game).

I think it's completely fine to have preferences ^^ Though I do hope male gamers would rely less evolution theory and universal beaty standards ;)

Just so you know, it would be misandry, not misogyny.  Misogyny is dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women and misandry is dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men.

There is a difference between a sexuality and a preference. I am not redhead sexual if I only like redheads. You do not need a sexuality for finding emotions necessary for attraction.

Hmm I do find Dorian really attractive. Oh wait, he's not LI for straight female Inquisitor!

So no, sadly I do not have cake. Not the cake I want at least, the cakes that are meant to me have wrong frostings and fillings. But luckily this is game and I can still get the cake I like by making male Inquisitor ^^

I know there is a difference. What I am saying is that some do not develop a sexual attraction at all until their is a bond. That is different then finding someone attractive but wanting to wait until their is a bond to act upon it.

Question: Do you consider asexuality a sexuality, or just a preference as well?

No, misogyny was the one I meant since if females felt Bioware was against them by making ugly LI's then it would be misogynist agenda as against women. But of cource it isn't like this.

There are three female LIs, and none of them are "conventionally" attractive, as compared to the five male ones that are all conventionally attractive. Don't be surprised when you see a much larger volume of people complaining with that kind of difference.

Ah, okay. I thought you were referring to the other kind of arguments used with that. Sorry.

Skinny bald dudes, grumpy men of perhaps 40+ with poor hygiene, and giant grey monster men with horns are all considered conventionally attractive now?  Dorian and Cullen, sure, but I wouldn't call any of the other 3 pinups, personally (not that they are ugly or repellant, just...they don't look like matinee idols, either.)

Must be nice to be a bloke though, if the range for conventional attractiveness is so wide.  Whereas even a woman with fantastic bone structure, a lithe figure and killer eyebrows (Cass), a slim, youthful girl with symmetrical features (Sera) and a raven-haired, golden-skinned lady (Josephine) are SOL, apparently.

Why you think "conventionally" attractive means something positive to me? It doesn't.

Male gamers have both Cassandra and Dorian, they seem to have the advantage here from my very biased viewpoint :P

But seriously I'm not complaining. I don't really except to get LI that I'd be attracted to and who would be open to my gender and sexuality (straight female). I'm lucky that there is Dorian and Cassandra and I can do male Inquisitors for them at least. I think I'll have fun with other LI's as well even though they aren't that attractive for me nor filling nor frosting wise ^^

I wouldn't complain on getting Scout Harding as LI for my female dwarf though but I guess I have settle for Sera.

My comment was to the conversation in general.

Asexuality has to do with an actual attraction to a sex (or lack thereof actually) so no, it is more than a preference.

I think you missed the point.  The comparison was about women (and some guys) not demanding a better looking guy in The Witcher.

Geralt =/= cake.  Unless you mean old, stale, store-bought sheet cake with flavorless icing......

Witcher's skin makes you tingle on contact, yo. Literally. And his eyes pierce your soul. He's rugged and badass. Even if you don't find his appearance sexy, your panties will drop watching him take out a group of nekkers. Then he's coming for your nethers next, lol.

People in this day and age don't recognize a real man when they see one. I'll hold up the torch.

Barf to all of that, yo.

Believe me, I recognize and appreciate "real men".  Probably more than you do (but in very, very different ways.......).

What makes you think you represent anyone besides you? You don't. Speaking in generals, yo.

Again, Dorian is conventionally attractive. Cassandra, not so much. We are not talking about Panda. We are talking about BioWare customer 23454332

Someone said what's the difference between woman saying Geralt is unattractive and saying Cassandra or Josephine are unattractive. The difference being you'll see a hell of a lot less people complaining, relatively, when you increase the dominator.

Sadly evolution theory and fertility thingies makes me ignore this hunk and go towards feminine guys who are better providers : /

Maybe because the novels were first.

But if that weren't the case, I'm sure there'd be lots of complaining.

I don't need a boner for dudes to point me to a real man. Probably because I already am one B) My man GPS is confused, lol.

What feminine guy who's a provider as a gaming protagonist do you go after? Lol.

I haven't found one yet but my biology tells me to keep looking. Maybe JRPG's would be better place to search? After all I can't help it, since we all are still those monkeys on the trees without any own preferences ;)

I actually think Cassandra's gorgeous. Especially when you compliment her--she lights up.

But then, I'm a straight female, what would I know?
