Solas, meh. I've never seen anyone speak negatively on his appearance. As for Dorian, that's fair I guess. I wasn't speaking on that though, so I was just clarifying.

We're having a convo about that in the solas thread now. Even people who absolutely love him admit its his intelligence and over all attitude that makes him attractive.

Normally I don't say things like "you're not a REAL GAMER BRO, but yea, people that only play facebook games and whatnot are NOT our demographic.

Not talking about your father since he plays Borderlands.

Yep, it was behind hard work. I and my brother tried to get him into lot of games but they were too complicated (Skyrim/Mass Effect) or english was too hard (games don't subbed nor dubbed here). Somehow he got into Borderlands though.

Likewhat? Looks fine to me. I've just never seen anyone say otherwise.

Um... How many do you need to? I think he is. I don't know what exactly is wrong, I guess pretty much everything. Like, every single feature is... off. Even not to mention his too-small-head.

Solas, meh. I've never seen anyone speak negatively on his appearance.

Eh, hello, no one says he's ugly because he's not ugly. But he's not handsome either - he's just average. And he's bald for christ's sake, that doesn't do him favour.

Blackwall sitting in a corner and crying isn't manly.

News flash, humans cry.

A moment of weakness does not make you unmanly, especially when dude radiates manliness 99.99 percent of the time. If what he did doesn't give him an excuse to cry, I don't know what does. Dude's got more manliness in his dislodged pubic hairs than most do in their entire body tbh. Real talk.

There's nothing wrong with the way Solas looks besides the fact that he has a tiny forehead and no hair. He'd do fine if we threw him into the middle of China. Won't pull everybody, but no one's going to call him ugly.

Unless you're a newborn or emotionally unstable, you won't be doing that all the time, homeslice.

He's been crying for like a decade now. The only time he mans up is when he goes to the execution. Then he starts crying again. Hopefully the Wardens will fix him.

In this fandom, possibly, but gaming overall?

You know the studies saying women make almost half of the gaming population count games like candy crush and facebook apps, right?

You know some studies saying you should only believe in a statistic that you have faked yourself...? ;)

As far as I can tell, every woman (an man) in my family (except my mother who isn't playing at all but well, she's in her eighties) don't play candy crush or apps, we play RPGs or shooters. And we all love to discuss about strategies and content and games in general -  maybe we all are too weird for normal studies...  :D

As someone put it in our thread, he's "Aesthetically pleasing" to look at, but his facial proportions are off, bro. It's not just the head. That's what people were saying pre dragon age Inquisition release too, until after they saw and spoke to him in game.

Not saying he's ugly, but there's nothing conventional about him.

Which is actually a part of his charm.

Cullen has a plain village boy next door face, the only one with a vogue material mug is Dorian (and that's maybe circa 1980).

And seriously, people only see bdsm in IB romace? If so, they are missing quite a lot there.

(and it's not even worth to start about the whole manly men don't cry thing)

Likewhat? Looks fine to me. I've just never seen anyone say otherwise. I mean he has a hole in his face, but besides that.

You might not, but I've seen a lot of women here speak otherwise, with some men here asking for the facial hair itself. Not me, hate facial hair, but I figure if a lot of dudes want it, it must look good to somebody.

Blackwall sitting in a corner and crying isn't manly.

"Pillowy man-bosoms."  Iron Bull is also: grey-skinned; scarred; has an unusually pointy chin; has a large nose and small eyes.  I like the dude and all, but he is not getting cast as the dreamboat in a rom-com anytime soon.

Solas, well, elves are (deliberately) kind of alien-looking, and Solas is especially so.  His fandom nickname is 'Egg' because of his ovoid and hairless noggin.  Being small, slight, and bald are all features I have so often heard men lament as making them unattractive to shallow women who only go for big buff hairy jerks.  (And there is a stigma against baldness - in white people at least - because it is seen as a feature of age, and because hair is felt to be a signifier of virility and health for both men and women.)

Blackwall was probably my least favorite companion overall so that will color my opinion of him, but I found his face to be sort of sallow and gaunt-looking and his overall appearance (and all the comments about his hygiene) made him feel unkempt, to me.

If all three of them can be considered conventionally attractive, then all three of the female LIs can absolutely be considered conventionally attractive as well.  They all have symmetrical features, they are all physically fit, they all have thick, shiny hair (if some unfortunate haircuts, in Sera's case), they all have clear skin, they all have good bone structure, they all have all their teeth.  What hideous disfigurements disqualify them from conventional attractiveness, that can't equally be applied to the male LIs? (Except Dorian of course, who is just as beautiful as he thinks he is, bless him)

If anything, your statement supports mine, lol.

It's not like I'm saying women don't play games, lol, I'm just saying those studies saying women make up almost half or even more of our community is bs.

Solas is not a conventionally attractive guy.  Certainly if you consider him to be conventionally attractive, you have to consider Cassandra and Josephine to be conventionally attractive.

I can't continue this conversation due to lack of person who actually played the game to converse with, clearly.

I think Josephine certainly is. Cass no, which is fine as she's still beautiful and not odd looking like Solas.

But Josephine? She's rather conventional. Meaning that she doesn't have any abnormalities if you ask me. She's incredibly pretty. Too girly for me though.

I agree about Josephine.  I think Cass is conventionally pretty as well.  If she had long hair, I don't think people would even blink.

She's not a bombshell, but her face is pretty.  If she had Miranda's hair and lacked the scar, I suspect no one would complain about her at all.

I'm really glad she doesn't though. Miranda next to her would obviously win the beauty contest, but Miranda doesn't really turn me on. Cass does a lot though. I think she looks better like this actually:

Most people would say she is not conventionally pretty because of the cheekbones. Not to mention she makes an lot of frowny faces and they are not her best angles.

How the hell it's not pretty for her and pretty for Olivia Wilde or that actress in BBC Sherlock (forgot her name) or any other celebrity with the similar face structure? Like, why.

But they're considered pretty. Even if someone personally doesn't like them, calling them anything but is a freaking crime.
