^That's for you not living in the US who thought what I said about the job and car thing was bullshit. How does one even get laid without a car... not like they're going anywhere, tbh.

Unless she picks him up all the time... which... lol.

Go with friends to a bar or club, get drunk and call a cab. Don't expect anything long term and bounce.

It's hot out, so I decided to wear a cute skirt that easily gives guys a glance at my panties. Totally not seeking attention.

If anyone's that hot, I suggest getting some ac and staying inside.

i live in a country where it's regularly 42 degree Celsius plus in summer. Most people don't cover up. I also have a medical condition that makes me extremely uncomfortable in warm weather. I have to stay in ac 24/7 just so I can avoid catcalling? I don't dress for attention, I dress for comfort at this time (actually I do what most people men and women do during summer).

Perhaps I should invest in a burqua for those much needed supermarket trips.

Col, I like you and your posts but they're seriously coming across as 'all women dress like this for attention' not 'some women', sure some women do, but many more like myself don't.

Actually scrap the burqua. Given current climate in politics I'd likely be harassed more for that.

Well it's a sensitive topic, and people live in different places, and obviously certain things don't apply to everyone everywhere. I personally live in a place that can get pretty hot and humid, and I obviously get that some women, or a lot actually, feel the need or desire to dress coolly.

But when I can tell you the color of your g string, and tell others about that cute little heart shaped birthmark you've got close to your inappropriate bits, that is indeed a problem, and you won't get attention just from men, but women as well. Oh yes, I've seen women calling their fellow girls out, calling them sluts and so on, whether it's from jealousy or what, I don't know, but it happens.

All I'm saying is some common sense is involved. Even if one doesn't wear such revealing clothing for attention, they should be aware of the fact that they'll draw it anyway. Is that fair? Is that the way it should be? No but that's the way the world is.

And as for women who get attention when they're not even doing that, yes it is unfortunate that it happens. But I'm not talking about skeezy ******* fratboys when I say women need to learn to take a compliment. There are cases when a guy can just say nice skirt, or I like your shirt, and because its revealing, they make it waaaay more than what it is.

TL;DR I'm aware that there are men who are assholes, but we're not the only ones.

And I'm sorry that people read my posts and think it means one thing rather than what I say, but that's how I feel about it, and people can either like it or not. Same for me. I'm not here for everyone to like me.

*sigh* when did this topic turn into about clothes? Can a mod close this already??

but seriously can we all agree that there are both women and men that act like that and leave it at that? There are enough A#$#@%# on both sides to take the blame. Everything doesn't need to be a VS match.

@Col Oh yeah definitely I get the common sense thing. But how I dress feels like it's being brought up as a reason for such attention when a) everyone dresses like this b)why am I singled out because of my gender c)I am simply going about my day to day.

I don't know, maybe it's the beach culture I live in but seeing someone in a bikini top and short shorts isn't really anything unusual or attention seeking to me. Wearing that when everyone is buttoned up - well it's back to common sense. I was travelling once and in the middle of an English summer in Hyde park I saw a guy in a full suit strip down to his undies and sun bake. I was taken aback but he was totally non-plussed as were most people around him.

Also I don't take 'shows us your t*ts!' And 'pwhoar nice arse!' As compliments anywhere outside the bedroom.

You have also men in their cars, who when they simply see some girls, regardless of what they wear will yell at them on the streets, some things that aren't exactly nice to hear. That's why I hardly think that the real issue comes from women wearing revealing things. To be honest, I find the idea crazy that someone couldn't wear whar she'd like, and could be blamed because she is wearing something.

I actually tense up now if im alone & a car seemingly stops beside me, i once had a awkward experience of a guy stopping to ask me for directions only to start flirting with me within a couple of minutes, got kinda scary when i kept getting asked to sit in his car "for a nice chat" it honestly made me want to run :?

It is indeed situational.

Anyway I'm with the guy that says there's assholes on both sides. But a lot of people find it hard to believe that some women could actually be assholes in a situation. To me, trying to make someone out as a perv because they said they're beautiful or something seems.... like a dick move, tbh. Yet in that situation, people still call it inappropriate, just saying that... Not where I'm from though. That's perfectly acceptable here.

I'd probably avoid any friendly banter with anyone if I lived in a culture like that. But then, I live in Mount Pleasant South Carolina. Charleston's been called one of the most friendliest places on earth.

 Nah I'm good. I got my bodyguard already in my jeans, and I keep my knives sharpened. Smith's sharpeners from Lowes.

You sure?

I'd only charge 16 a hour plus expenses.

For what it's worth, if a guy is cat calling you and he's part of a group, he's probably doing it to impress his friends rather than because he thinks it will get him anywhere with you.

Society (women included/mostly) places a lot of value on a man's sexual prowess. Just like women are **** shamed, men are virgin shamed. By acting like that, he is able to project a sense of sexual confidence and dominance to his peers. The fact that this has a negative percent chance of working, e.g. actually obtaining him sex, is irrelevant. It almost helps, actually. This guy is so successful sexually that he's able to just "throw away" chances for sexual encounters by acting like this, or so the mentality goes.

Pretty much anything any person does is driven by us still just being dumb social animals. If we had brightly colored feathers to show off with, we could avoid a lot of this nonsense.

Positive. Beats the purpose of having a weapon. Would be a concealed firearm, but all I've got is a shotgun and that's not exactly something I could conceal, lol...

I love this state on concealed carry.

Also if you want a tip? 92f or Highpow would serve you well for those purposes.

Cheap, durable, affordable ammunition and small enough to conceal.

I go Glock personally but it's all the same really.

It's extremely overpriced for a basic firearm.

That's all I'll say.

Ha! I agree.

I never thought that we would have gone from 'Limited romance options' to the stuff people have been discussing in this thread the last few days.

You read their posts and take a good look at their pictures and usernames.

Follow these three easy steps and next time you lurk and see one of the last two, don't read their posts.

Well... to be fair... most of the PCs ancestors used to live in caves when he was walking around being hailed as a god. I don't know if the Kossith even existed back then.

Ok, it's not really fair, and it still makes him a racist... (in the sense that the Ancient Elvhen > any of the other races alive now) but he's not perfect and this is just one of his flaws. It's really hard for him to see the person behind the race, he's a big picture sort of guy and it extends to his personal life. Some of the other companions got more politically correct flaws, it's true. :P

As for the number of romances a male PC gets... I don't even want to hear it. :( I'm still bummed that Cassandra and Dorian friendzoned me. As a straight female I find myself obligated to make 2 male characters just to romance these two wondefully-written companions. *sigh*

kinda off topic I just wanted to tell you You have one of the prettiest inquistors I have seeen.
