What I'm implying is that I think it's great that there's more inclusion in video games for all players.

Really, I just want well-written romances.  I don't want something that feels tacked on, so if you have fewer choices but they're good choices, that's preferable to having a bunch of shallow choices.

And I'm not sure why you think that pointing out that lesbian and gay people as well as straight women who don't like playing humans or elves have the same number of choices as straight men is dense.  I guess I just am coming at it from an entirely different point of view.

I completely agree with you... Just how distasteful sex scenes implemented for fan service is also just as bad. ( I applaud Bioware for how they handled Josie in this regard) As forr that last paragraph we can just agree to disagree:).

If for straight females there were only the two original romance choices, Blackwall and Iron Bull, there would have been quite a few upset people as neither of them are, shall we say, traditionally attractive.  My guess is if straight males had the female equivalents of those two instead of two very beautiful and strong (in different ways) women, there would have been the same kind of uproar.  Of the two that were added later, one is a drug addict and one is, well, completely different.  They're also limited not only by gender, but by race as well.  My dwarf was shot down hard by Cullen, for instance.  Solas was never even an option for her.

That's good, though.  The story can be different depending on the character I roll in personal ways.  The world may end up shaped by either/or choices, but the personal stories are different and that to me is a good thing.

And by "they"you mean men, you can say that.

Not all men apparently, just some special kind. And it's not okay to generalize like that. Not okay at all.

Point is, no one was complaining about the amount of LI for women currently on this thread. So what was the point of saying that?

What's the point of saying anything at all? It's a goddamn forum, people are talking here. No one forces you to reply to every post here or anywhere.

Just like how many female gamers complained for months after mass effect 3 about the LI options

Didn't care and haven't played Mass effect at all, only watched it on youtube. So I have no idea what are you talking about or what they were upset about.

go gay, you will have plenty to choose from, apparently this is EA/Bioware agenda to promote homosexuality among kids.

Thumbs up for India to banning this gay-fest.

1)  DA and ME are both M-rated games with a minimum age-recommendation of 17 (in the US, at least).

2)  Romances are completely optional.

3)  Straight female humans and elves have the most romance options, not gay men or les women.

Nice try

Only 6% to 9% human population is homosexual and most of them are females, (male homosexuals are less than 2%) so one wonders why there is so much focus on homosexuality in this game.

Is it just to entertain only the 6% of human population or there is something more to it?

EDIT: Oh wait sorry, I forgot 'discussion about homosexuality' is off the table......... because apparently any one who tries to even talk about it gets banned on these forums.

Maybe they're trying to promote tolerance because we all know how much hate is thrown towards the LGTB community.

Funny how allowing the option for homosexual romances is automatically seen as 'pushing the Gay Agenda'.

This is sort of like a sandwich of terrible thoughts. On top, you have a reference to a demographic's status as a minority as if this should somehow determine whether or not content is made to include them (aside from the inherent dubiousness of the various percentages thrown about on the internet), followed by the implication that any discussion on homosexuality, benign or not is considered a ban-worthy offense, then followed by a comment on human extinction.

Oh Maker, now I'm tempted to restart posting cookies recipes & Saruman Trololo videos.

More seriously, a group being minority does not mean that they should be ignored or having their existence denied. It simply means that there are people who is not part of majority. And 6% is a large group. We are about 7 billions on earth, if you're into numbers that's 0.42 billion people. That's a lot of people. More tolerance please, that can't hurt.

bad argument, it doesn't take into account nationality or economic status.

poor people in North Korea probably couldn't care less about representation in a video game

Still, there must be any LGBT people exist there. Either they care or not, they exist.

My point is, more tolerance can't hurt. Please.

If I ever get a car I am saving up for a paint job like that, its an almost guarantee that you won't forget where it is in a parking lot for very long.

There's always the more modest VW Golf Harlequin option.

6% is still a roughly valid number regardless of the total. The argument looses validity when people make statements like gays want to force homosexuality among kids. My wife and I have 2 daughters and we hope both grow up to be straight. The probability of finding a good mate in 95% of the male population is much better than in 5% of the female population, we got lucky. What I miss in these conversations is any reasoning behind those kind of statements.

I do not know why there is such a large concern about gay representation in the game other than “we” are out and want our representation in any area we can get it. No more than any other group that has lived under a yoke. I can understand how on a forum like this it would get annoying for straights to have to listen to gays continually saying, “We want more representation.”

As I read katamuro’s opening statement it had to do with under representation of male romance regardless of orientation. So if the real question is, why do females get more options for romance? I think it just worked out that way, or as I have learned to tell my children, just because.
