Obviously there would be gold, silver, and bronze snowflakes for the top 3 in each division.

Meh. There's something you can get a prize for.

Now I'm trying to imagine how a bronze snowflake would look....
like failure
remember this is the Oppression Olympics, winning means you really lose
And so I thought this topic was about romance options.
Back to OP, yes, romance options are quite limited (2 for straight male inquisitor, 2 for gay male, 2 for lesbian female, and 4 for straight female), but I feel the quality of the romances makes up for the limitation in quantity (at least from my experience when playing male inquisitors). Cassandra's romance is really well done, and I find myself in obsession with Dorian.
And so I thought this topic was about romance options.
you're new here so I'll forgive your misunderstanding, romance threads do not stay on topic
Maybe they're trying to promote tolerance because we all know how much hate is thrown towards the LGTB community.
Funny how allowing the option for homosexual romances is automatically seen as 'pushing the Gay Agenda'.
Still, there must be any LGBT people exist there. Either they care or not, they exist.
My point is, more tolerance can't hurt. Please.
humans aren't tolerate. The tolerance you seek is not achievable.
Plain and simple.
I think we've progressed enough stop making minorities within our species the main targets of intolerance and instead focus it on those that truly deserve it. Like space aliens and those who worship chaos gods.
6% is still a roughly valid number regardless of the total. The argument looses validity when people make statements like gays want to force homosexuality among kids. My wife and I have 2 daughters and we hope both grow up to be straight. The probability of finding a good mate in 95% of the male population is much better than in 5% of the female population, we got lucky. What I miss in these conversations is any reasoning behind those kind of statements.I do not know why there is such a large concern about gay representation in the game other than “we” are out and want our representation in any area we can get it. No more than any other group that has lived under a yoke. I can understand how on a forum like this it would get annoying for straights to have to listen to gays continually saying, “We want more representation.”As I read katamuro’s opening statement it had to do with under representation of male romance regardless of orientation. So if the real question is, why do females get more options for romance? I think it just worked out that way, or as I have learned to tell my children, just because.
As someone who has traveled all around the world, this is just simply not true. So far from true actually.I think we've progressed enough stop making minorities within our species the main targets of intolerance and persecution and instead focus it on those that truly deserve it. Like space aliens.
I liked Sera's romance alot but Josephine's F/F romance was disappointing to me with her acting in the typical Bioware "acts straight 95% of the time but makes an exception for a S/S PC" behaviour that they seem to always do for bisexual characters
The problem I have with Sera that I can't understand her at all. Hell, I can't even understand what she's speaking, it might be cause I'm not native english speaker but seriously it sounds like gibberish to me instead of english ![]()
I'm going with how people liked the romance with this and Sera is one of most hated companies alongside with Vivienne (though they still have fans too) and Josie isn't very popular either due to her romance being too sugary so that's why I think lesbian PC had in this game short end of stick.

And some straight men complain about Cass and Josie as their romances, the same as some complain about Dorian and Iron Bull as their romances
People will always complain no matter what Bioware does

But... she's doing that only in the beginning, right? I can't remember anything really crazy since the arrival in Skyhold. Of course it's not that easy to understand her banter, but her dialogues with the pc is not that bad. ![]()

Well, you have to admit - still - that BW do very questionable things with the romances sometimes. And take too much freedom from the players in them.

Yes some, however Cass and Dorian are within most liked companions when Sera and Josie aren't so much. Iron Bull hangs somewhere there between.
Well my view is that lesbian PC got short-end of stick quality-wise. Quantity-wise pretty much everyone except human and elf female Inquisitors got short end of stick.

What kind of freedom are you referring too?

It shouldn't matter who's the most liked companion, at the end it's all about people's personal preference which is something Bioware can't account for when they make characters and romances the way they want (which how they should do it anyways)

I think it does matter cause it's quite related on how much people enjoy the romance. That's especially if LI does something conflicting like lies to you about themselves (Blackwall) or cheats you (Jacob). The fact that more players dislike Sera as companion than like her pretty much says that not many of the players would enjoy her romance either.

BW seems to write not only how their characters behave in the romance but also how pc does. And there's even no options. Sometimes it makes no sense. Like, we have to do some gross stuff if we decide to romance Blacwall and spare him and there's no other option if you want to continue the romance.
Why? We can dump them, break their hearts in almost every possible way and even kill them, but can't decide on what terms we will be with them. It really bothers me sometimes. To the point of never wanting to explore some characters in that matter.
But no, it's not quite right, it's not only goes for romances. There's lack of options in other matters of course. I also was bothered that we couldn't turn down Michel's offer and had to avoid getting near him after killing the demon. I don't understand why we can turn down any companion's offer and can't refuse some side character's.
That's just the first two things that came to mind.

Well.. I was pretty stoked about Sera for lesbian PC... it doesn't get better than that really, she's perfect.
But yeah, I'll recycle the theme by saying it's subjective, personal tastes, not everybody is going to be pleased, blah blah blah...
Wait. ![]()
I thought this thread was locked?
Or am I getting confused with the other ten million threads on this subject?

BioWare doesn't owe anyone the romantic arc of their dreams Panda.
I know that. However they can easily except what companies and romances are going to be more liked and which one's less liked according how they play out and how much plot importance etc. they have (like Solases has high plot importance).
