There's nothing wrong with that, but my concerns are that they are pro-gay to the point where everything else suffers. I'm accepting of homosexuals, but that doesn't mean I think society should be defined by them.

Cassandra's cool, but nothing to write home about. I think Morrigan and Leliana (and even Hawke) could have been romanceable if they weren't romanced in Origins (and II if you had no romance).

It have been cool to romance Leliana like in ME1... Or Sera for my Dalish elve... Bioware fault now 3 less 100% dalish in Thedas... Grrr

I am fine with sexualities i just think going 2-2-2 would be better yes there will always be fights and people getting angry about not getting a certain option. I just think giving one group more options then others makes things worse yes it is nice one group gets more but the other groups get upset about it. If it stays equal it shows they treat and respect each group the same instead of just upsetting more people.

People getting equal options would be ideal situation. But if they have resources to make extra options to one group should they just not make those romances because of others groups getting less options?

I think Bioware want to sell games, and they think (wrongly) Players of Dragon Age are teenagers and males, and teenagers usually create a female character and romance a girl, (i don't know if girl gamer will create a male character to romance male companion)...

I'm sure there is more gamers male which create a female character to romance a female companion, of just to see her forms...

But are the Ladies gamers doing the same thing ? (create a male character to romance a male ? ) - And if they do it, will they admit it ?  :P

Usually man aren't disturbed by viewing (in action) gay woman, i mean Lady with Lady :P ...

but we are disturbed by viewing (in action) Male with Male... Hum

Yes i think it should stay equal cause the Da team have not been great at giving extra options out. Last two games only straight women have gained from this do you think thats fair or right they had more options for the past two games.

Have you noticed that as a male inquisitor the romance options are limited, only 2 characters are male exclusive Dorian and Cassandra, the other two Iron Bull and Josephine can be romanced by the either sex.

And female inquisitors have more choice, Blackwall, Cullen, Solas, Sera are exclusive.

 your gender has  dominated gaming.

Its called fairness. And if you don't like your choices thats  a personal flaw on you.

Oh you gotta be kidding me. Women were SHAFTED in ME3.  So please try harder.

Everyone should just be bi and both get the same number 3 male 3 female. It is equal it is fair no one gets more or less.

So basically you want the writers to sacrifice how they write and create the characters to cater to your needs. I've romanced Dorian with a male mage, a dwarf with Iron Bull, a Dalish with Joesphine, and a female with Cullen.  I have had no issues.

If you or anybody has issues...its on you. When all is said and done...its SELFISH to demand that the writers change how they create the characters just to cater to a person's needs.   And when I say anybody.......that includes EVERYBODY of ALL sexualities.

Do not see why you are being aggresive i want it equal in all bioware games i am just pointing out bioware need to do a better job with the romances. And give everyone equal options you are right about me3 that was not fair.

I'm a woman and I haven't created male PCs and romanced male LIs because if I can choose then I will choose a female PC who romances a male LI. The only gay male LI before DAI was Steven in ME3. I haven't created a male PC for romancing him yet but I think I'm going to do that in some point. I guess I just have been too happy playing female characters and romancing male LIs. I think I'm going to create male PC and romance Dorian in DAI because he seems to be so interesting character and I believe his romance is very good. But after I have romanced Cullen and IB first. I have already played Solas romance twice. So my preference is creating female PCs who romances male LIs but my secondary preference is to create male LI and romance male LIs. I'm not that interested in creating male PCs who romances female LIs or female PCs who romances female LIs.

Not a fan of the way the  went about romances this game.

Hope the gating disappears next game again and options are open again. Much prefer 4 deep romances open to everyone than numerous shallower gated ones.

Hope they don't have such a big skew  to one particular orientation again either. Very odd choice imo.

What is right and fair? Should we concentrate on numbers? What about the content of the romance? If everyone would have equal options then would it be fair that both of the female LIs will break up with you in the end of the game? I wouldn't say that would be fair either even if everyone would have equal options.

Thing is that if I was stuck to choose between IB and BW I would skip both of them, like I did in DA2. With having bigger pool to choose from, the player has better chance to find something that suits them.

You are adding on more problems bioware would not have both the female li do the break up. Thats just silly.

You are adding on more problems yes that could happen but bioware would not have both the female li do the break up. Thats just silly.

We can still debate what is fair or not even if it's very unlikely that the scenario will happen. Anyway would it be still fair that one of female LI will break up with you in the end of the game?

There's always going to be a luck of the draw element unless you raise the pool exponentially high. This time round straight women got double the chance of being able to build a likeable romance than anyone else. For me i want element of choice but also want deep content(because it seems they aren't going to devote extra resources to romances), so DA2 approach seems my ideal for my preferences. Understand others will have different preference.

If both one male and female did that yes but just her no. It must be spread out to both sides.

Exactly, I don't disagree at all about the need for deeper interactions, it's what I would love to see more in this game, but I'm not sure I'd consider DA2 having that. I felt that I had no choice there but either to make a compromise or skip it all, because they were very similar in a way, they definitely didn't felt "deep".

I really don't get the "fairness" arguments. The devs are under no obligations to give everybody equal options. It would be nice, yes, but these aren't basic human rights we're talking about, they're videogame romances. Do try to not confuse them.

I'm a straight guy, and I don't think we got shafted in this game at all. Straight women get a couple of extra options. Big deal, the majority of the cast is male anyway.

Pretty meh assumption. If threads in this forum are anything to go by, most of the players regardless of sex mostly play as themselves. Then, there are also those who understand that game is just a game and can create any character do any romance because they just want to see it.

And this above... is just stupid.

Like Sera said, "who are we?" Everyone's different. I'm pretty much ok with any type of sexualities in the game as long as I like the charatcer I'm going to romance. It has nothing to do with my real-life preferences. And Maker, I'm so not disturbed (lol) by anything there, I can watch pc romancing Dorian or Sera all day.  Cuz they're hillarious.

Fair enough. I felt they were better and slightly deeper content wise but mainly i'm disappointed the direction of travel seems away from deepness imo. Late in development they had ability to add content for 2 additional romances but rather than splitting that between existing romances to deepen them they increased breadth not depth.

So the most fair way to do romances is that there are equal amount of LIs and the love stories are the same except that the gender of the LI is different? So there really is only two different romances?

Honestly, i'm more disappointed that they chose to spend the extra time and resources on romance content at all, when they could have used it to add more story, or improve upon the mediocre ending.

Maybe it's not that simple. If they have resources to create extra romances it doesn't mean that those resources could have been used to create content to other romances or story or changing the ending. Besides I liked the ending.
