I just started playing Dragon age, and i never played any previous game in the series, and the thing is,  i am playing as a dual dagger rogue and i like going stealth, but when i want to kill my enemies without being detected i give an order to my companions so they just hold position at the exit, the problem is that the moment i attack a monster, the whole party ignore my previous order and simply start attacking my enemy. The same goes when i give the whole party orders of who they should attack and what abilities they should use, they ignore their orders as soon as the controlled character starts attacking an enemy. Another problem i have is that when i starts controlling another party member, my rogue stops using the stealth ability, even if they are not attacking anyone. Is the AI on this game really that stupid or is there something i am missing?

It's pretty dumb all around.  Completing multi-companion puzzles is the most tedious thing in the world for similar reasons.

At default, companions are set to follow the player char. You can change that under Behaviors > Targeting. I set them to follow themselves (i.e. Sera > Follow > Sera etc.). My main issue is that they spawn after the char if he/she advances "too far" from them when set to hold.

You can set certain abilities to "preferred", and I would suggest you do that for stealth on your rogue. That way, when you are possessing another party member, your inquisitor will default to using that ability.

Need to change thier behaviour to follow someone else, not you. That way, when you need them all, jsut send the one they follow to attack and all will. (make sure that one is set to follow themself and not you.)

sins ur new here i recommend look that video, for beginner assassin is good specialization, fun to play & not to hard, like some classes & specializations

& get lvl 12 before u get to Skyhold, its ur Castle what comes after Haven, in haven & Sky hold in smith shop u have 2 skill reset items 1 is 300gols & other is 1gold, so u get 2 of them cheap so u can reset skills if u don't like ur current build, for dragon killing, there is a glitch, attack from ferry far & he wont attack u, when ur as far that staff u cant attack dragon go bit closer, i mean u need to be at ur attack range limit, then u can be sure that he wont attack u, i do that at low LVL kill dragon like that so i could get a lot of XP, at lvl 10 it gave little bit over 1 LVL-UP

here video how OP u can become with ur char, not all classes & specializations can become so OP, but most can, also u cant be so OP like this guy if u are 2H warrior, i finished my 2HW, char on this video has Champion specialization, in this are u cant attack from afar cause in that map that dragon lair is small for that to use that glitch
