I kinda equate Bianca's threats with Blackwall's speeches about honor and doing the right thing.  "Really guys? You don't get to say that kind of thing to me."

 

Also, I can imagine how that scenario would have played had Hawke been there, someone who has been fighting and bleeding by Varric's side for 10 years.  Snarky!Hawke would most definitely call Bianca on her BS.

It comes out of nowhere and it isn't said in a joking way. A part of me feels that the writers were trying to make Bianca somehow seem badass or funny or TEH AWEsomeSAUCE!11! but it just serves to do nothing but annoy me. 

I'm huge dwarf lover and I loved every dwarf they made in this game.Hell I even liked Bartrand he was funny before he went mad and I found his relationship with Varric hilarious,they are like "Tom & Jerry" of DA lol but Bianca has to be first dwarf that I really hate,I didn't even hate Bhelen nearly as I do Bianca because at least Bhelen can be killed and he can be brought to justice for what he has done...but Bianca once again gets to walk away free as nothing has happened plus she dares to "joke" on that way with you.

How about this example from real life...

-You go out on dinner with person you at least known for long time then that person makes such joke on you.You would easy accept it as joke and no big deal because it is your friend or someone you really know for long time.

-Now you go out on dinner with person you are about to meet and during dinner that person has done nothing else but annoy you and making you lose appetite and regret for meeting her,then to sauce things up a little more that kind of person who is stranger that annoyed you during entire dinner makes "joke" as that.Would you still accept it easy,take it as joke and smile at that "joke" from annoying stranger person? Because yes I would smile but it would go like this...

THIS, oh it would have been amazing. I love my Snarky Hawke, Not only would she be protective of her best friend but she would have told Bianca where to stick her threat.

Can I also say something else that bugged me about this whole BIanca/Varric thing? Bianca made her choice, while she wasn't happy about it, the point is it was a decision that put her in a position of safety and put Varric in danger. She decided Varric was not worth the risk of eloping, or leaving her husband for (this has been going on for over a decade may I remind you), but she is fine about putting his life in danger with their continued love affair. So leaving is too dangerous for her but hey, Varric's life doesn't matter as much! if she cared about Varric's safety she would have ended things but she hasn't. She even makes light of the fact that assassins try to kill him when they do see eachother!

That's why that threat bugged me more than it should have because Bianca has no real regard for his life and you know what? You should have been able to say that.

It's just the icing on the cake honestly. I just guffawed when I first heard it because it was such a hypocritical thing for her to say.

...don't forget part she gave Corypheus red lyrium,used you to fix her own mess and plus made you "joke threat" as if you are one who has endangered Varric in here not to mention that Miss is married to another man as well.

Yeah, my Inquisitor wouldn't care about her being married to someone else. That's between her and Varric. She chose, at that time, to believe Bianca had good intentions (which can sometimes go wrong). Okay, fair. Nothing can be done to change it. 

 

And, no, I'm not an alpha personality. I just think it's silly if someone threatens you, you don't even get the option to respond. There can even be an option to not respond but, I'm pretty sure if someone said that to me after the mess we just cleaned up, I'd remind her of the fact she doesn't have much ground to stand on there and she's lucky we are forgiving and not holding a trial for her.

 

I don't know what they were going for with that line but it fell flat for me.
