So if I'm in arranged marriage I'm completely allowed to go chasing after my ex and it's completely acceptable behavior? Cool, then when I get married I will make sure it is "arranged marriage" and if my husband has problems with me chasing my ex and still claiming my ex I will say "It is arranged marriage it is completely acceptable for me to chase after another.".Great logic  B)

If you're in an arranged marriage you can even not live with your partner or share the bed, it depends on why it's arranged. Also, nobles usually had lovers/mistress. Even a Warden can have one in DAO, as mentioned by another user.

It all depends on your partner! I know many kings and queens in history that had lovers because their spouse didn't give a single damn about it as long as their partner produced them heir to throne...while you had those that didn't allow such thing. And from what we know about Bianca's husband is that he doesn't approve of Bianca chasing after another.Proof of how Varric's life is endangered each time he and Bianca meet is proof that her husband is not happy about sharing.

Varric is a simp for pining for Bianca. She clearly is the sort who dangles the carrot in front of the horse in order to keep the horse going. Varric should move on from her, onto other women.

Dude sorry you didn't like her. Maybe you just don't get her. You say she's a Mary Sue? What about Varric? He basically perfect. A hero, a bestselling author, wealthy, great hair, great engineer/articficer. Why is Bianca a Sue and not Varric?

why the double standard?

Everyone knows that her "threat" was just her way of saying "take care of him"? Did Isabella get this kind of hate for doing the same to Hawke?

This. I can see people's complaints about her other faults but that "threat" has been blown out of proportion. I bet if the HoF was Hawke's warden friend in Here Lies The Abyss and Morrigan, Leliana, Zevran, or Alistair said "get my love killed, and I'll feed you your eyeballs" people would eating that up.

At least we got to meet them in previous game, while in DA:I Bianca is someone new and her first impression was done pretty much on way to despise her.Plus don't compare Inquisitor with one Hawke.Hawke is one simple man/woman,a simple champion,he/she never were on "throne" to judge entire nation...Inquisitor is way too close to king and queen! Inquisitor judges entire nation,Inquisitor decides fates of hundreds! So tell me would you tell your boss "threat joke" would you dare to make such joke on your own boss when you know that you shouldn't,plus that he can fire you? Yes your boss mabye friend to your friend/gf or whatever but he is not friend to you!? Would you dare to joke on your boss in that way like you might do with some co-worker? No!

Same is in here.Inquisitor once again I repeat is way to close to being king/queen himself/herself.Inquisitor is no simple person on who some random stranger can pull joke as that,Inquisitor is not a person you use to fix your mess then later on walk away like nothing happened!

Have you played DAO? When your HOF is rude to Cailen,Duncan is ready to beat you up for disrespect it is only Cailen that says that it's alright that he doesn't mind it.Then when you say to Loghain first time when you meet him that you think that Cailen is fool Loghain as well scolds you and tells you to remember that fool or no that Cailen is your king that can easly destroy Wardens if he wishes and that you should keep that in your head, meaning "Keep your mouth shut!".

So you are telling me then that little dwarf wh@re that f*cked everything up with 0 remorse can use most important person in Theades like her tool and make "bad joke" on him/her in end and get to just walk away like nothing happened? We judge Blackwall who was with us,we judge a man for simply throwing goats at Inquisiton,we judge even dead woman! But Bianca who is alive gets to walk away freely without us having a "say in matter"?

Sorry I don't see that as fair.Whole Bianca case was pretty much developer's way of "trolling you" in game! She comes out of blue,"Until we sleep" is nonexistent and replaced with BW's version of Bianca and for end they make Inquisitor bot at end so he/she can't respond.Great! So once again don't compare Hawke a simple man/woman with Inquisitor that I dare to say has even more power then emperor himself in game!

it's clear she did not want to marry the guy she married.

But continues to remain married to him anyways even though she is now casteless since she is on the surface and there is absolutely no reason for her to still remain married to him.

people think love is so simple, if varric and bianca love each other and they are both happy to continue it then it should. I hate how people seem to want to force their own opinion on other people. even if this is fictional. Better that varric can keep in touch with the woman he loves than pretending she doesnt exist just because you cant be with her 100%. If you really loved someone you would love them no matter where they are or what circumstance they are in, some people are just too "clingy" and think it should be all the time exclusivity or nothing.

It amazes me just how many well-written, even if brief, characters BioWare writes get so much hate on the forums. It's much the same as how someone apparently got jealous over Solas because their friend apparently romanced him too.

Basically, people are pinning over a fictional character, or screaming bloody-murder because they hate them so much.

Personally, I like Bianca. I don't think Laura Bailey's voice works too well, and yeah, she was kind of the cause of red lyrium breaking out, but you can tell she genuinely cares for Varric, in her own way, and that makes her likeable. It shows she's more than a 1-dimensional character.

I also really liked Isolde, and loved her voice. And I loved Anora. If I were to live in a medieval country with a queen like her, I'd be happy... at least as far as the matriarchy goes. She made it interesting, when she quickly turned against the Warden. We'd never have gotten so much entertainment from bringing 2 companions to save Alistair and the HoF, if she didn't. Her reasons for doing it reflected well in the story's situation.

Did I mention Anora's hawt? Because she's haaawt!

Am I in the minority? I really liked her and I felt sorry for the 2 of them. She is locked in an arranged marriage, obviously cares for him as he does her yet there isn't much they can do it about it at this point in time!

I think I must be missing some detail about Bianca, because I'm not really seeing where all the hatred is coming from. Is it just based on Varric's personal quest, or is there some extra info from the comics?

All I see in the personal quest is:

1) She's married, but is still in contact with Varric and flirts with him (we don't know the circumstances of the marriage or anything about her husband, yes? Or her relationship with Varric?)

2) She's responsible for Corypheus getting a red lyrium supply. She seems to feel somewhat guilty. Tries to fix it by sealing up the entrance, is a bit flippant if you expect more angst from her.

That really isn't enough for me to hate her. With the second thing, yeah she screwed up, but so did Varric and Hawke for finding the stupid stuff.  As for the first thing... like I said, don't know enough about the circumstances. All I can see is that they have feelings for each other, but she's married to some other guy. And... that's it. I certainly don't see how Varric's being taken advantage of, based on that one personal quest. He doesn't act like he's trying to get over her, for 10 years he's remained single and only attached a crossbow named after Bianca.

Describing her relationship with Varric in his words, "It's... complicated." I think they would be together, if not for the merchant's guild. They realise the consequences of them being together, and it just can't happen.

I think the line "You better get back to What's-his-face." sums up their relationship, and you can only read between the lines.

I don't hate her, but I think she should have encouraged Varric to move on a long time ago. Clearly she's not leaving her marriage for him. Yet she strings him along. Sure, he allows it, but it takes two. If he can't give her up, she should tell him he has to--for both of them. It doesn't matter if she still has feelings for him. It's the right thing to do.

Besides, I'm still miffed I couldn't romance him! (Seriously, if my Hawke or inquisitor can't have him, I want to fix him up with Lt. Harding. Now there's a woman who's worthy.)

Actually this Bianca in game has nothing to do with Bianca from comics!

Which is another way of just proving you that this Bianca is given to game by BW just to do good ol' trolling on you. Another proof of how Bianca was buried case was that Varric was intended as Hawke's LI,the scene and everything was set to go but BW pulled it out in last moment you could say. So main problem with this Bianca is that she is forced in game and that she shouldn't even be in game in first place.

I couldn't care less about Varric and Bianca's relationship, they are adults that's their mess.  That's not the reason I dislike Bianca, she's snippy and arrogant from the outset.  I was prepared to like her, it seems she wasn't prepared to like me.  Why?  Guilt springs to mind.  She's f*ucked up royally over the red lyrium but lacks the humility to accept it.  As to the last flippant remark, why oh why didn't Bioware give us the option to tell her to feck off?  Why, Bioware?  Why, WHY?

She was kind of a let down to me.... I expected something a bit more angsty between them. She seemed to be a bit superficial and a tad selfish as a person.

I hate that threatening line she gives to the Inquisitor at the end. It was pointless and unnecessary <_<

I liked the Bianca plot...but it ended a bit abruptly.

And I just wanted the chance to respond to the 'threat' with something along the lines of reminding her that if Varric should get killed fighting for the inquisition, his death would have ultimately resulted from her actions in revealing red Lyrium to the world. And that removing my eyeballs would never clean the stain of his death from her conscience.

But there was no chance to respond, alas.
