I mean they already seem to have high shields/barriers/whatevers and ridiculously high melee damage.

Why not give certain kinds of enemies ammo effects?

Let me provide an example of this idea:

Geth

Trooper - disruptor

Rocket Trooper - explosive

Hunter - phasic

Pyro - incendiary

Prime -  disruptor

     Turret - phasic

     Drone - incendiary

Bomber - N/A

Reaper

Husk - N/A

Cannibal - armor piercing

Marauder - phasic

Brute - N/A

Ravager - incendiary

     Swarmer - N/A

Banshee - N/A

Cerberus

Trooper - armor piercing

Centurion - armor piercing

Engineer - incendiary

     Turret - phasic

Nemesis -  incendiary

Dragoon - phasic

Phantom - incendiary

Atlas- incendiary

Collector

Abomination - N/A

      possessed type - N/A

Trooper - incendiary

      possessed type - incendiary

Captain - drill rounds

      possessed type - N/A

Scion - explosive

      possessed type - explosive

Praetorian - phasic

      possessed type - phasic

Wouldn't it make more sense to make the gameplay more immersive via symmetrical rebalancing by making it seem that the enemies use variants of technology available to the players as well. It would only be logical since 2 of the 4 factions are entirely limited lorewise by the state of available equipment in Mass Effect. The other 2 factions are balanced in line with them because of budget costs, I guess. Oh, and balance.

This seems like a lot of effort for very little effect.

Cerberus shuttles should have door gunners with Cobras.

Crap, that would have been awesome.

Heaven forbid I actually throw down some feedback, right? It's not meant to have an effect now, but maybe someone will read it and think: "Symmetrical balancing? Not the worst idea of all time."

Your accusations wound me, sir. This forum is a bastion of serious and mature discussion and I intend to follow up on its reputation.

I predict only terrible things occuring as a consequence of enemy units having AP and Drill Ammo,

Being killed in cover through shield and health gate while stunned sounds not so great imho.

Why don't enemies use RHA? Or Incendiary cheese? Combos? Cobra missiles?

On the other hand, seeing as enemies guns often do way more damage than the counterpart available to players, I suppose they already are using an ammo power, the secret Super Damage Boost Rounds which we don't have access to.

I didn't say anything about forbidding feedback.

And if you wanted it to have an effect on future balance, why did you write it to the remaining few ME 3 MP forumites, instead of the Dev thread specifically asking for what people want in the next Mass Effect? It seems like that would have produced more effect for the effort, which is what I actually said.

Yeah, because geth aren't annoying, cheating scumbags big enough as it is...

I can already see the sideways running assault rifle wielding strafing Collector Captains and Mauraders gunning me down in cover. That would be great.

You just had the best idea ever.

Praetorians should be able to throw Possessed Abominations.

Enemy guns are terrible compared to ours but we have way fewer hit points than enemies do, most kits have fewer points than a gold husk.

Also nemesis has phasic and atlases and banshees have incendiary damage, and that's already such a big hit with most people isn't it. Okay to philosophize about but in reality it's all about game balance.

Technically it's not really phasic as 100% of the damage goes through your shields, with a property called ignoreShields = true.

While on the subject of trivia did you know lash does 40% extra pull force on centurions?
