Another things is, as you get to know Cass more she's a bit surprising in a lot of ways and really isn't what I expected when i first met her. Josie however is pretty much exactly what I expected from meeting her, so she was far less interesting to me.
Why there is a discrepancy in the numbers between the LI for het males?

Eh.... I thought he was okay in ME2. Pull wasn't spectacular, but he got Barrier and Shotguns, which is a nice combo. In fact, the only line from him that I disliked was "let's not force these chats," which is really him just saying he's there to do his job first and foremost, not make friends. I don't see much to hate, but that's just me.
I didn't mind Jacob until I watched his romance (in ME2) and realized that he was an *******. He essentially says, "yeah, Miranda and I used to have a thing but I'm not good enough for her" and then, "so, Shepard, what're you doing later?" I also really disliked how Shepard sounded flirty when talking to him no matter what dialogue I selected.
But if I put the romance content out of my mind then he didn't bother me. Seemed like an alright person to grab a couple drinks with. Not a best friend, but more like a close work colleague.

It's because Josie doesn't put out. I'm the only one honest enough to say it. There, I just saved the thread about 500 posts worth of bickering.
Also, she isn't a party member but doesn't have the brand power of Cullen which is a huge blow to her potential romance output. The mere mention of Cullen will make some girls on here drop their panties instantly whether he's a party member or not.
I don't know. I kind of at least like to wait a good forty seconds before I let my panties drop. Got to think back and double check that I am wearing the good ones first.

Hell no Jacob pretends he's normal but he's just as snappy as the rest of them. I despise his whole "let's not force these chats." everyone else gives you a basic dismissal but his makes me groan. Jacob's baggage is there. He just takes pains to hide it.
He's the worst and most boring character lol, but my point was that these crazy violent people that everyone likes (including me!) wouldn't be people we'd want to be around in real life but in games we want that extreme.

Of course.
I just wouldn't want to be around Jacob either that ******.

I find Josie charming, but Cass is with us from the beginning, fighting side by side. It's easier to feel close to her and she's interesting. Also...there's a challenge in getting to really know her that's appealing. The other thing is...Josie's clothes are appallingly peculiar, lol. I just want to buy her some real pants. Going to do her romance next time, well, after my elf playthrough.

Edit: The scenes with Yvette IMO are similar for Josie but you just don't get the same unexpected character contrast.
Though I will say I love the Disney princess elements of the romance. It's nice to see a perfectly well adjusted human who genuinely cares for you.

While reading some topics about romances, I noticed that a lot more people romanced Cassandra than romanced Josephine.
It's because Cassandra is a qt 3.14 angel and Josephine is a mouse with a scrunched up forehead masquerading as a human.
Also Josephine is boring as ****.

Josephine is better than Cassandra by a long shot so I don't get it either.
If I had to guess, three reasons:
1) Cassandra is a returning character so has more of a following.
2) Cassandra is a companion and people like/are used to that.
3) Cassandra flashes her boobies.

They're emotional creatures. Probably on a high testosterone cycle or something.
I like Josie a lot, but she just doesn't have the bite I prefer. Her romance is super cute but also super one note. To be fair, I don't care for Cullen's either for the same reason. Both could have been more interesting, the seeds were there, but they went for a sweet and simple route. They both have their fans though, and that's cool, I am happy for them.

Cass's romance is sweet too. In different ways. I don't know about Dorian yet, but I think the bigger drama lies with the others.

Cassandra being more popular than Josephine isn't really a surprise. I'm sure most people could have predicted that long before the game released.
She is a returning character who already had a pre-established fanbase, while Josephine was an entirely new character.
She is a companion character and travels with you on missions, whereas Josephine is just an adviser.
Another factor adding to her popularity, though one that couldn't be predicted before release, is that her romance arc has some light adult content while Josephine does not. Considering there were complaint threads about the lack of nudity in Josephine's scenes, or even any sort of sex scene, I'd say that has played some small role. I think the first two are much larger reasons for Cassandra being more popular though.

Dorian is mostly angst free, although he has his baggage due to his background. Really the only thing about him is that he needs a lot of reassurance that you're not going to bail on him and he has a habit of testing you by throwing out the options for you to get out easily.
Really the angsty romances this time are Solas, Backwall, and Sera (at least if you're romancing her with an elf anyway).

Samantha was a normal female character in M3, and I'm pretty sure many straight males found her hot and wished that she could have been an option available to both gender. And she was less developed than Josie overall and appeared only in the last episode unlike the other romance options like Ashley, Liara, Jack, Miranda, etc. She was adorable, with a good VA. I would have chosen her as my Li for my lesbian shepard, if the fact that she wasn't a companion didn't kill the mood. ![]()
I like normal characters personally, it's just that Josie is boring with her romance content. The relationship is totally platonic, passionless, underdeveloped. I've watched Cullen's romance, and while it is very sweet too, I felt something and found the content interesting.

I like the normal and the weirdies both, best to have some variety
I think that if Josephine hadn't been a LI there would have been plenty of people asking for her to be (of course that's true of most characters lol). I kind of wish they'd made fewer romances in DA:I and just made the ones left longer and more involved. I dunno who I would cut though :<
I hope any SP DLC adds some self contained LI dialogue and banter (assuming we get any

I agree on both points !
I'm certain that if Josie wouldn't have been an Li, I would have dreamed myself that she could become one one day.
Because, honestly, regardless of the romance content, I found her awesome as our advisor, like was Samantha before her. Also she is attractive as well. ( to me )
Otherwise, I also wish they'd do fewer romances and more content, because even with Cassandra, it felt short. ( don't know about male characters ) I don't know if it's because the game is long or not, but that's what I felt.
