How do we know the so called, 'Bioware community team' actually read these and what do they have to do with games/patches?

Is this forum just to make people shut up and pretend they are getting their voice heard by somebody who actually has influence over the games so they don't get hounded with phone calls?

If they are viewed by the bioware community team, what do they do, and why do I never see any responses or posts by them? If this is monitored you'd think there would be period posts informing us of what they've listened to or making some replies on hot topics.

And since DAI took nothing asked for and suggested from the forums after the DA2 disaster, I'm thinking nobody except the mods view this and the mods just police the forums and that's it.

Can anybody prove or disprove this?

As with the case of Mass Effect 3, they do not listen. They only pretend to listen. They do not hear or read anything they do not like. The way they see the world, anyone who doesn't share their ridiculous opinions is a part of the minority. Because most of the things that the majority of the players want is not profitable enough so it doesn't fit into their agenda. They are anything BUT costumer friendly.

What do we really want? From what I have gathered reading the forums, extended gameplay (a main story expansion perhaps), new companions, fully repaired Skyhold, new locations (and to visit old locations like Denerim), complete modding tools (hey, if modders on nexus can create modding tools for this game from scratch, makers of the game could do much better, I will not fall for the "Frostbite is impossible to mod" lie) and stuff like that in a single DLC.

Instead, what will we really get? Some retarded armor and weapons dlc a modder could do in 10 minutes... Pitiful. (And you can pretty much guess that this is the reason why they will not be releasing modding tools.)

But that's BioWare for you. A shadow of what it was. Tainted and corrupted into the money worshiping machine you see before you.

But they did listen to people with ME3. They released a free DLC that expanded on the ending and had additional information on certain choices and characters after all.

This is the official venting pool. I doubt they scour this forum for revelations if that's what you're hoping for.

So then this is a lie,,,,the statement for this exact forum on feedback and suggestions..."Want to get your thoughts directly to the BioWare Community Team? Put it down on paper here"

Wait, there is a bioware community team? I thought it was like whoever made a mistake at bioware would have to read this forum for a day as a punishment.

Lol, yah, after ea got voted as the most evil cooperation in America. I don't think the free DLC had anything to do with listsening to fans.

A few devs might actually visit the forums once in awhile, provided they feel masochistic and love being depressed.
No self respecting developer would come here, have you read these forums?

I'm even guilty in this regard, but far too many insults. Who in their right mind would subject themselves to that kind of abuse?

Ha.. one let's play by me would erase half this forum... bunch on nonsense by novices. I run this game fine but for capture I would need too much of an upgrade I can't afford right now. Idk there's probably enough out there that would put these people to shame.

In all honesty though if you consolidated all the anger and flailing out of this section you end up with a list of like 10 line items. That's more realistic to what they actually see. I'm certainly not a bioware exec, but that's what I'd have to think.

Considering the Gaider made a rather snarky comment about what they need to do for the next game - it seems clear that they are aware that not everyone is happy.  Whether the feedback is being taken on board, or if they are just upset the game isn't universally loved is another thing.

The responsible type that wants to learn! Someone who wants to work at expanding his/her horizon ... for making better games ... hopefully.

Oh? As far as I remember, that was not really voluntarily on BiowarEAs part... the way I heard it, EA ordered them to do the DLC because the shareholders were getting antsy about all the bad PR. If it had been up to Casey + Consorts, they likely would NOT have made that DLC.

I imagine the rank and file Bioware employee was told not to post here, at least w/o management approval.  If my life's work was up for debate and scrutiny 24/7 and there were 1000s of posts about it, I would be all over it, for good or ill.  That does not happen here so there must be a reason for that.

Gotta keep in mind that they have to pay people to read through the forum and take note on the vital problems people are reporting. No one is going to monitor these forums for free after all.

I would think that they are monitoring the forum, but are likely not answering posts, because chances are they are saving their time to just list the things that are most commonly being complained about and then forward the issues to the next department.

Still, for someone to at least give an answer here and there, would be nice, granted that they have permission to do so by the higher ups.

Gaider's been at this long enough to know that expecting a game to be universally loved is idiotic.

the more i go on video game forums, the more I hear the majority consensus say "i'm disappointed, i expected more"

when in reality you're all just victims of the video gaming culture. we play our favorite games, then hold all other games to that high standard, but nothing ever pleases us as much as those perfect games did.

They're listening, I'm sure of it. But I'm pretty sure it gets to the point where we all sound the same to them.

The forums exist to give customers a place to discuss the game.  Bioware is not actively listening though.  Just check the News and Announcements forum for proof of that.

No, Enclave777 is right. Gamer feedback is crucial in the industry these days. It's how they make their mass marketing decisions.

They're just sifting through everything, to only pay attention to the things that make them more money.

I completely disagree.  We are not comparing different games altogether.  I am not saying I hate DA because Gothic was so much better, etc. Or Dishonored because Thief was so much better.  When they make a game like DAO and then the 3rd installment have cut out everything that made the game great, we aren't holding them to a impossibly high standard, they chose to cut and go cheap on their game. Making a shorter main story and everything else a pointless fetch quest that has nothing to do with the main story.  DAO all the side zones had their own story line that tied in to the main plot, rich full content.  In DAI all side zones are just pointless fetch quests that don't have anything to do with the main plot, and the few that are related have no impact on the game at all whether you do them or not. Bioware could have continued making quality games like DAO, all of the side zones in this game could have had full plots and storylines, cutscenes, all tying in to the main story but they chose no to.

Interesting article/video that shines a light on the industry practices as a whole, and explains much of what we see with this game. We're 7 weeks 5 days from launch and many people still can't run the game, crash many times, Multiplayer just had an announcement for a fix (and they make money of MP so holy **** that took awhile!), and many like myself are beset by other bugs that make the game unplayable despite being able to run it.

They're going to make the game that they think will bring in the most money regardless of what we (the much smaller group of hardcore and obsessed fans) think. It's helpful to vent though I think.
