The fact I can't choose what faction I'm fighting is no end of infuriating and something I cannot begin to understand why was not included in development.

All I wanna do is practice some solo perilous demon hunting with my hunter and OH-EM-GEE I forgot how much I hate not being able to customize my matches.

"Just reload, not a big deal."

See... you say that...

Click <OK> on the weekend event pop up (which pops up every... friggin... time...) > Click Create Match > Click Ready > Wait for game to load > Game loads > Oh look, not demons > wait for stupid intro, that gets old after you've heard it a few hundred times, to finish > Exit match > Wait for more loading > Click <OK> on the weekend event pop up...

Repeat that a couple dozen times a night and you R-E-A-L-L-Y wanna strangle someone.

All I wanna do is kill some demons...

I actually like this, its luck of the draw. Unlike mass effect they won't have to do so many changes to the factions. When the game came out, people were just playing against the geth and avoiding the reapers like they were the plague. Now the reapers are the easiest, the colletors and geth the hardest, the geth mostly cause everything tries to stun lock you, this way, each game is a gamble, are you going to have it easy with the venatori, or you going to get destroyed by the DC

I'll take demons over venatori any day at perilous difficulty.  The boss is trickier but no archers.  Hate... HATE... archers.   With a bloody passion.

Then have a random option.  Boom.  You get your way.  I get mine.  There's literally no point behind making people have to reload time and time again other than to troll.  So... well played BioWare.  Well played, indeed.

problem is i was discussing this with one of my friends. they used the ME3 reference, people are just going to grind easy mode to get better than you while you screw around with demons

Then make it a solo option.  Call it practice or whatever.  I don't even want the gold.  Hell I don't even pick it up 1/2 the time anyway.  I, literally, just wanna practice perilous demons.

Ugh...

I mean, I get what you're saying.  I do.  It just drives me nuts is all.

And why does it say banned under your avatar?

I like it.

Agents of the Inquisition get sent to deal with the foes that are there.

'No, boss, I think I'll give those demons a miss today thanks, the Ham at camp made me unwell...'

That's not how the military works.

"Grind easy mode to get better than you" with regard to choosing a faction in ME3? What does that even mean? It's certainly not a reference to becoming better at the game, because choosing only one faction all the time will do the exact opposite.

Easy credits to get more rolls in the RNG store? And that affects someone else's experience of the game how exactly?

People may have all kinds of reasons they don't want to play a faction that has nothing to do with its difficulty or their skill. The Geth and their bs are the perfect example. The easiest faction to cheese and not really that difficult if you know what they do, but annoying, cheap and demonstrative of permanently unpatched bugs all the time.

First, it worked that way in ME3, which infrastructurally was just as, if not more similar to a modern military than the Inquisition.

Second, and yes this is a contradiction of even making my first point, but realism arguments with respect to logistical/UI choices in a fantasy RPG multiplayer are even more problematic than realism arguments with respect to story elements in a fantasy RPG.

You don't understand, what other people do that don't affect him make him mad!

Oh, come now. If we were going to nitpick DA:I over what a military does, there would be plenty of other things ahead on the list... like only ever sending 4 people to fight 100, for example... :P

Ha. I am absolutely banged to rights on the realism argument !!

ok, for me personally, I like being an agent of the Inquisition, for my own immersion, however tenuous,

I like the banter and I like meeting whatever the enemies are.

It connects DAMP however thinly to the single player game and that's fun for me.

If the foe selection mechanic changed I would fall in line  :)

- "The Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has been quite successful, exceeding all expectations. Maybe we should take the best concepts from it and improve upon them."

- "Good idea, let's do the exact opposite."

With any luck they will take a look at the community's ideas and put some to use. I have created the thread ( Unofficial DAMP Feedback and Suggestions Thread) just for this a list of ideas from the community. Because I am a big fan of Bioware but i am baffled at the lack of content and problems with Damp. I do know they will get it together as they did with me3mp but there are alot of simple things that i have no idea why they were not put in.

Edit:
Srsly have a look lol abit odd that so much was left out.

It's a Co op game. Not a solo game. If you want to play solo there's a 90 plus hour single player game.

fact: you could choose which faction you play against in ME3MP and it wasn't an issue

the option to pick enemy faction isn't missing intentionally
its missing because it was an oversight

What evidence do you have to support an oversight?

It looks like an entirely deliberate attempt to mix up the foes to me.

Yet in reality you can face the same faction multiple times in a row (8 is my record) the irony. ME3 set to random enemy almost* never gave you the same enemy twice in row.

*Just incase someone claims it happened, I don't recall it happening. Note, host migration would reset it so I don't count that.

Really we are complaining about a mode(Multiplayer) which wasn't the priority and will be evolving over time in the near future.  Hopefully Bioware does dive in and start developing content for MP because they have a really good core game loop currently.

I'm excited for new bosses, enemies, maps and items.  Really after they clean up the bugs there is a lot of potential here.
