I do want to do a second playthrough, to make different choices, have another romance, and try to get platinum. But since there is no new game plus and when I think of all the pointless side quests, of all the running around for nothing, etc., I just get turned off. Took me around 165 hours for my first playthrough and I certainly will not put in that much time again for a second playthrough.

I should have done my first playthrough in nightmare mode. Would have made it possible to just play on easy on my second playthrough for the story without having to worry about leveling up. But if I want to get that nightmare trophy, I would have to redo everything to gain levels.

Why isn't there a new game plus? Why must we redo all those pointless side quests and war missions? Bioware needs to put in a new game plus allowing you to keep you items, money, levels so that you can just concentrate on the story. Really, those side quests need only be done once.

I for one am not motivated to do a second playthrough because half the interesting combat mechanics are broken. I will not play this game again, or give Bioware another dime of money, until they start cranking out patches. Line's gotta be drawn somewhere. If you release a big complicated RPG, fine, I expect bugs. I DON'T expect silence and no patches past the 1 week mark. It's months later now. WHY IS THERE NO ABILITY FIX PATCH.

Just self edit. I ruined my first play of ME1 by going absolutely everywhere and doing everything. The story got lost amongst the hundred planets I explored for no good reason. After that playthrough I never visited more than a handful of side planets ever again.

Gameplay wise the change is so minimal that there is no need to bother.

I wouldn't expect much gameplay difference, but what about story?

The game would have benefited from some ruthless editing. I think they could have lost at least half of the content and the game would have been better for it.

Well, except that I like all the content, all the locations and I'm by no means alone. So, no. That would suck.

Same here, aside from the shard collecting. That's just annoying to do (even though I repeat it everytime).

For extra 10min, not worth the effort.

I really enjoy the shards, lol. I like to get all the forbidden oasis shards before closing the breach so it's still mostly empty, though..

Really? That's lame. I was under the impression that it was a totally divergent path.

Nope. Primarily the same game regardless of the choice you make.

My problem is that I've started a second playthrough already but can't bring myself to finish it. I changed up a lot of what I could about the story environment, sided with a different faction and had a totally different DA Keep world import, and I'm even skipping much of the side content to focus on story. I don't know, I just don't find this particular playthrough as compelling as my first for some reason. Might just try to restart with a new Quizzie.

But yeah side content is definitely mostly a skip for me.

Took me to my third playthrough to really find my character compelling.

Usually I find my first character complelling, after all new story, new character, new companions. But, even though I played an elf first time, I found myself rushing to get through the game.

Second character was a human mage....I've never been one for playing mages so she started with a black mark against her. Rushed through her since I didn't really click with the character.

My third playthrough is a male qunari S&S warrior. Never been much for playing a warrior (I like rogues) or playing as a male. But for some reason this is the character that I identify with. I'm loving this playthrough. And I'm loving playing as a warrior in this DA game (the other two DA games...*yawn* as a warrior) I'm now over 300 hours into DAI between the three characters, and I am drawing out this Qunari playthrough.....I just don't want to see him end! (also I have a mini-crush on my Qunari dude....so that helps I guess)

hopefully you will create a character that will click with you.
