The post:
The whole Thedas thing is a tragedy and only now I see it. They want to tell stories about their world where we are something they want us to. Well, that is not that different from, let's say KOTOR or BG right? No, wrong. It is very different because now it is not George Lucas mythology, or Wizards of the Coast, it is THEIR world and their passion will drive them to do stupid things like making this game "for everyone".
Useless info:
My girlfriend never played a RPG game before. She loves Inquisition, I believe she played around 50 hours, yesterday she played like 10 hours. She doesn't know what each stat does, she doesn't need to. She doesn't even know what each skill does, there is no need too. It either, works or doesn't work, well in fact, it works, always work.
Why is DAI so awful? Well of course, the first point that comes to my mind is EA greed. But then, I'm sure Bioware writers want people to play their story. Not their game, their story. That's why they made a game so simple you require no knowledge to play, not even basic understanding of its rules. Seriously, my girlfriend have no ideia of the game's mechanics. But it is normal, when you write something great you want people to read it, in this case, play it. The more the better. And as when I made this same point previously, you don't want to share your story with only a dozen virgin fat nerds with 40 years old living in their momma's house.
Yeah, I made this point before. But now, seeing my girlfriend playing it is a huge proof of what I said here before. It is dumbed down and it is made for non-RPG people. She enjoys it. Perhaps she buys the next Dragon Age, it will be made for her, not for me, never again. She would never ever play any of the old RPGs, nor would she play Divinity OS, or Wasteland 2, nor any other true RPG I have in my PC or my notebook. But she plays, and loves, Inquisition.
Oh, she loved the other fake RPG I presented her, called Diablo 3, I guess that says a lot about Inquisition. As her experience with games being liking Naruto fighting games and God of War series, well, again, what does it say about Inquisition? If someone who doesn't like RPG likes it, it is clearly not a RPG. She hates RPG, she loves Inquisition. (It started with DA2 in fact, my previous girlfriend who hated Origins and RPG in general loved DA2, the games she loved were Saints Row the Third and Devil May Cry - oh, and of course God of War, and well, she also loved Diablo 3, I really can't understand how people deny DA is going the action way since people who like action and hated previous games now like the recent games...)
Ending:
So you would rather a boring game your girlfriend would never play and that would make Bioware go extinct due to low sales? Of course.
Are you insane? Yeah. Since Inquisition was released I had a mental breakdown and I keep on lashing out like the sky in this forum as if it made any sense at all.
