I would say some class using two-handed weapons or dual-daggers. Youll eventually unlock all classes, may as well start with those using other weapons than the starting three.

That would be a good idea, particularly since we're likely to get Mauls or Dual-Blades as our next weekend challenge.
If that's not something you're considering, you could just craft whichever one you've got the best equipment for.

You'll have more fun even though it can be a particularly difficult class to play.
Hunter isn't as fun as Archer until you have the right gear
Templar is my favorite personally but unless you enjoy 90% support 10% attack on anything but demons I wouldn't suggest it.
The reaver would've been my first suggestion if you build it properly there isn't a more fun class but currently there a a major bug which breaks the character...especially if you're new

They are all heavily weapon dependent. In fact everything in this game is weapon dependent.
My advice is to craft characters as you unlock better weapons for them.

I would say templar is the least weapon dependant character of those 4.

You will get all of them soon enough but the Assassin is just a super fun class to play.

All of the above are excellent choices. My favorites are Hunter and Reaver. Depends on what you like to play.

Reaver a blast in Routine/Threatening but will almost 100% garuntee glitch on Perilous if you die.
Assassin is great, hopefully you have some decent daggers.
Templar is cool, damage on the combo is weapon dependent of course so if you don't have a decent 1h maybe hold off.
Hunter... IDK, I just never got into him.
