The mods locked both previous threads on this, and it's important.

As most have heard by now, the bonus armors are complete changes of appearance.  That means not only that you can't change out body parts (fine by me), but there's no options for helmet removal even in convo cutscenes.

This essentially makes them (I have Inferno and Blood Dragon) useless.  Not particularly outraged, but definitely feel ripped off.  It seems whoever was working on this stuff didn't have contact with the rest of the armor design team, because having an emotable head is pretty important -- not least because the items are mostly cool because of their looks.

EDIT -- uh, and let's keep the personal attacks off the thread so this one doesn't get locked too

The absence of customization definitely will prevent me from ever using them. But do I care? Not really.

Let's hope they patch this at some point. Right now it just seems to me like they either ran out of time or the left hand of the design team has no clue what the right hand is doing.

Oh well, I suppose I'll follow the example of others and stick to using the armors only during outside missions...

I mean we have given our feelings on the matter but if we think a serious discussion will be had about patching what they think will take more manhours that this sort of thing should take then we are kidding ourselves... sadly.

I think this will be my last comment on the matter because atleast somebody knows that we think this is a bigger issue than it seems but there you go.

I started a new game got to the part where you can customize your armor and scrolled through all the DLC. I thought the Blood Dragon looked sweet and was like "now how do i remove the helmet" OH WAIT I CAN'T.

The first Personal attack we receive on this will bust the ban hammer out. Tread softly folks. And understand there was good reason why we did this.

I'm really surprised about this since the conversations and interactions are such a huge part of the game.

Is it possible to use the armor and swap it out before you talk to people?

I personally love this game and give it a 10/10  but was wondering why the decision of not being able to toggle the helmet on or off was made. Certain conversation scenes in the game would not make sense in my opinion such as scenes when characters are surprised to see Shepard alive as how would they recognise him with the collectors helmet on or the terminus armor?

Personally don't mind that the bonus armors lack customization. Yeah, it would have been nice but ehhh. Really more focused on the other aspects of the game rather than the ability to take off my characters helmet.

To Jesse Houston (or any other Biowarians)

Not to sound pushy, but can you say what the reason was? Is it technical? Stylistic? I don't really have a big problem with this issue, but I see why people are annoyed. In most cases, a simple explanation goes a long way in placating them.

Gonna Toss a guess out there and say that since the inferno armor  can "recognize elevated heart rates and pupil movement in people close by, acting almost like a lie detector." There is an invisable HUD in the helmet that your not shown.

Merik does raise a valid point, in all honesty. I really do adore the game, but it -is- a tad odd when you're recognized despite looking psuedo Collector and the likes.

Out of curiousity, was it that you wanted them to stay 'unique' or was it clipping issues? I don't want to rage, I just want to know why. I won't even ask for a change, just a reason. Please?

I can't go into the details of it, but with many of the changes to Character Personalization we required that Armour be mostly static, with the exception of when you change at an Armour Locker.

I guess most people have a problem with it - I certainly dont. The voice actor carries itself, I see it the same as Tali. She has a mask on, yet her character was awesome in cut-scenes.

It is a huge case of fail, yes, I agree. I'm beginning to doubt the point of ordering the CE, it has brought me nothing but trouble so far. May even mean I will be getting it later.

Guys, remember that the bonuses that you can get from armors pretty much adds up to 30%. You can get just as much of a bonus total from the default N7 armor depending on which additions you get.

I think that the Terminus Armor is fugly.. it looks like you are wearing plastic tubberware (sp?). Looks so fake compared to everything else in the game.

ME2 is the only game I ever preordered. Usually, I wait for the reviews to come in. The only reason I preordered ME2 is the extra gear, which also played a big role in the decision to order the CE. Without the ablity to wear the armors sans helmet, they are pretty much useless.

I feel like I bought a convertible, but can't remove the roof.

Last time I buy a convertible...

It was a horrible choice for an RPG. If this was a Multiplayer game I can understand the no toggle option but a game that prides itself on being immersed in the game having this totally kills it. How much are these codes going for?
