- What was that "good reason", if you don't mind sharing? And why couldn't the answer have been provided to those asking rather than play the literal role of "Illusive Man"?

The consumers are dissatisifed with the product. They have a right to be. Why threaten the "ban hammer"? It's not their fault that no one had ever mentioned the DLC armours were the only armours in the game that can't have their helmet un-equipped.

I don't want to personally insult the collective entity known as BioWare but I will remark that the DLC was handled incredibly poorly and it speaks directly to the designers.

I can't go into the details of it, but with many of the changes to Character Personalization we required that Armour be mostly static, with the exception of when you change at an Armour Locker.

I'm not too bothered about the static armor, but why can't you go into detail? Surely if it's just a technical problem you could tell us what that problem is. I just like to be informed is all. Vague answers are about as good as saying 'I don't know', which would mean Dev's would've been better off refraining from giving us any answers like with some other questions floating around still unanswered. Since you have given an answer, details ommited, any chance we can get a detailed answer in the future?

Bioware already knows the community is displeased. If they are going to fix it it will probably be in the 1st or 2nd patch to the game. There is no need to keep telling them about it since they are well aware. As you said 2 threads have been locked.

I'm ok with it. My Sheps usually end up looking kinda fugly anyways. Plus the bonuses that the armors give are just too darn good at the beginning of the game.

I've just realised too, the Dr Pepper DLC is helmet only, so it's not as if it isn't possible to add 'bits' to the armour system.

I think CHris said in a different thread that it was done for concept reasons...

What concept was that, the concept of people not wanting to wear it?

It would appear that you deleted the reason becaus you didn't like it.  They had a concept of how they wanted the armors to look and didn't want people changing them, that apparently included not taking off the helmet.

I have to agree. I was very excited to use my Terminus armor, only to find out I can't disable the helmet. Now I won't ever use it because I don't like having conversations with my helmet on. I just don't see why they couldn't have made that possible....

*sigh* =/

- Don't let "them" fool you.

BioWare must have had a specific concept of how they wanted everything in the game to look, even the male version of Commander Shepard, yet armours/weapons/Shepard is customisable. What makes these few DLC armours any different? I have a suspected conclusion...

And how is that a "good reason", anyways. BioWare shouldn't care what THEY want - they should care what WE want or the INDIVIDUAL wants. Simply put, there hasn't been any good reasons provided.

Get over it!! What kind of losers are you that the biggest thing you have to worry about is whether or not you can see an IMAGINARY person's face. Honestly, if the biggest complaint you have with this game is the helmet, then BE HAPPY!!!!!!

Not really, the reason - " Because they wanted it to look a certain way. " -  is a cop out answer.

So being able to take off the helmet changes the way the armour looks?

Not really, it changes it to the same armour but without a helmet, it's not as if it changes it's colour or general overall shape.

When people would rather wear bog standard armour rather than the armour with the super duper awsome concept, then that's just shows poor reasoning behind that concept.

Stop trolling. We paid our money for this game just like you, and we have the right to voice our likes and dislikes about it. You're basically telling people their opinions are invalid. Get out.

I really did hope that bonus armour (although fixed in place) would have a removable helmet... or atleast some sort of variation in terms of helmets (full, visor, none).

Didn't say it was a good answer, just that it was what we had been provided with.  And if they really cared about WE or I the individual, they wouldn't have made changes that people don't agree with.

Follow the money. It's entirely possible that the "promotional" armors are not modifiable because the contracts aren't.

It's not a big deal to me.

You could always wear the armour on future playthroughs, or ignore the lack of a face.

Personally I prefer the customizable armour because I like painting stuff in games, but the pre-order armours are pretty cool.

Isn't that what the shooter vs RPG arguement has boiled down to?  One side, mostly what would appear to be shooter fans, telling the other side their concerns don't matter and are stupid and pointless?

Really? No removable helmet? ahhh sadface. Suppose I may still use it, but I rather like the facial expressions on my shep, don't want them hidden during dialogue. Oh well :(

Sorry, it wasn't aimed at you in a shirty way, it was just me being frustrated at yet another of Bioware's bewildering design choices.

Do the upgrades we research affect the armors? more specifically do the armor research upgrades apply to the bonus armors?

I'm disappointed the helmets aren't removable because, yes, having the helmets on DOES detract from the story, the interactions, the expressions, the hard-work that went into the eye movement... the story is what Bioware is and should be most proud of and taking drinks with your helmet on and kissing your love interest with your helmet on ruins or detracts from these story-telling bits.

HARDLY a massive problem, though... simply don't wear the armor, though that negates the whole point in getting the exclusive armors in the first place.
