"This place isn't natural. It almost seems constructed." "It's as if someone made a pocket with in the fade, with it's own rules of reality."
If you have state you race, class and if you had the arcane knowledge perk or not.

I could with my elf mage but not with the DW human and both of them had the Arcane Knowledge perk.
Finished that scene yesterday with my elven mage woman. Its constructed by the elves a long LONG time ago.
The choice has the "special" icon next to it - which usually means you have to meet a certain criteria to use it. I'd imagine in this case, it's that you have to be a mage.

Yeah, my Lavellan also said that it was artificially constructed, and that it was slowly falling apart.
I do not recall getting that option with my human mage.
Maybe it has the star icon because it's both race gated and class gated and there's no set icon for that.
Yes - Lavellan mage with every dialog perk you could unlock.
I got it with my human Mage with the Arcane Knowledge perk.
+1
So it's just with a mage then.
Reviving old thread maybe but has anyone figured this out?
I've tried with two characters, one elf mage, one human female, both have all required perks, and the dialogue option is not showing up. I have had a character who got it to show up, but I can't remember which.
I'm thinking it's probably related to either dialogue options or certain war table missions, since the Arcane Knowledge perk doesn't seem to affect it?
Maybe you have to be a rift mage? Or have had a particular convo with somebody prior to it. The charater in the video is human so I don't believe it's race gated.

That's a good point, actually - I *think* the one character where I got the dialogue was a rift mage. If so, that's some interesting potential for specialization-specific dialogue outside of character reactions to your choices (except for the Templar dialogues with Cullen which iirc got their own pretty icon).
I would try testing but it would take a while - can anyone confirm?
It's not enough to be either an elf or have the arcane knowledge perk. My elf archer did not get the dialogue option.
I got it with my elf mage who was also a rift mage. I would check if I could get it with an elf mage who is not a rift mage but unfortunately I haven't still got the save from just before this conversation.
Alright, so then maybe it's a conversation or war table option? I can't find it anywhere on the internet, there was a reddit but it's deleted -.-'
I'm playing through as a rift mage now but I'm nowhere near the eluvian. So I'll keep track of everything I do that's fade-related, see if I get it

I thought it might have something to do with a quest with Dagna or something, or even dialogue options with Morrigan. Done all those, no change, still didn't get the dialogue.
So most likely its to do with a mage, but since my knight enchanter didn't get the convo, I have no idea what the criterion could be. I will try to confirm the rift mage thing once I get to that point, though it might be pointless to test since some people with necromancer mages got the option, too.
There has to be a bit more than that. The Inquisitor in the video is a human and a few previous posters mentioned getting the line with a human mage. Perhaps elven mages and Qunari/Human Rift mages. Yes, going back through Fluffy's vids the Inquisitor in the video is indeed a Rift mage.
Huh, I've never gotten this before. I've played a Knight-Enchanter, so it seems that isn't enough even with the dialogue perks, so maybe you need to be a rift mage or necromancer (which seems odd) and have the dialogue perk(s)? Or something?
Or maybe it's bugged. Could it be a platform thing? Seems unlikely, but you never know. I'm on the Xbox One.
elven mage, with knight enchanter spec, got this dialogue. don't think i have arcane knowledge though. will check.
