I've tested archer build and I'm pretty sure it's the last time I've put point in evade. Evade sucks. I can live with some offhost problems with combat roll but not with this.

It's always broken, pretty much throw archer all over the place.

Take fallback plan instead. Much more useful.

drasca uses fallback plan too. i hate it.

I always do something dumb like warping myself back after drinking a healing potion.

and snipes me from other side of the planet.

Easy to miss helps with that or it's just "only rogue without stealth" problem?

Nope. You need more situational awareness and dodging into cover. Watch your minimap, be aware of your surroundings, and use them to block arrows. Evade helps with that. Fallback plan helps with that. Leaping shot helps with that. Strafing helps with that.

Spamming Longshot without looking or targetting where it goes does not help with that. Learn to love the cycle target button and right clicking targets.

Also I have huge aggro problem on archer. In theory I'm standing at long range and spam long shot, I can't even see precisely what I'm killing but still some random archer has aggro on me and snipes me from other side of the planet. They weren't even damaged by me,

In my experience Longshot with Lance upgrade does tend to rip through entire mobs, even the ones that are sometimes not even visible, (its that satifying light rumble in the controller), this could be causing the mob to agro on you,.

I always use the targeting (right thumbstick) when playing archer, it helps me to pick the right target, no point in me shooting a melee guy at long range when I could be shooting an archer, rest of my team who are more combat orientated will catch the melee guy while I neutralise enemy archers, then lend support to my own melee troops.

Seeing the remaining health allows you to scan the area for new targets, especially if you know the one you are shooting at will be dead in the next shot or 2.

Avvar being the most important

Virtuoso easiest to figure out for most players

Duelist has many many other possibilities. Will be updated as I explore her other features.

Few questions.
What rings/amulet you suggest for archer now? Assuming that I have Bow of the dragon?
What rings you suggest for Avvar if there is no superior heal on kill?

You've added mark of death to archer build (for dragon I suppose). Still from my experience and around ~30 perilous dragon kills dragon just runs away all the time if his ass is kicked and damage is high. Do Mark of death help with that? Damage is probably "the least" I need on dragon fight, those dragon babies are way more annoying.

Few questions.

Archer Equipment:
Longshot Ring

Superb Critical Damage ring

Superb Dexterity Amulet

+Cunning / + Willpower armor upgrades

Bow of Dragon or Cruel Redemption /w + Critical Damage bonus upgrade

Avvar Equipment Altnerative:

+Attack Rings / +Critical Damage Bonus Rings

Time your MoD with when she's about to run away. It can activate as she's about to fly in the air. If you do it right, she won't take flight more than a few times if you're the only archer. If you're paired with another archer, she might land and never take flight at all.

Most of the time dragon fight looks like that for me.
First landing, getting dragon to around 3/4 health and dragon fly away to one of the towers. We then dps dragon with attacks or sometimes some trebuche.
After that second landing. Sometimes fast as hell, like land->10 second of punishment and fly away. Sometimes dragon tries to build guard and make wing aoe attack so it's longer. Still always run away.
Third landing, dragon "hurt" in leg jumping around like mad and killed. If party sucks badly looks the same like second landing.

Is there any way to shorten this fight?

Third landing,

She takes flight more than once? If I'm on archer, she lands, and she might not take flight again. If she lands a second time, she's as good as dead.

If she lands more than twice, it is because I'm being lazy (or admittedly fell asleep auto-running into a match)

Yeah no. I have builds that I have tried, and I find them disappointing. There are builds other people rave about, mostly involving TF or SS with Flask of Fire + Elemental mines and either stealth or Flanking Attack, but they don't work nearly as well as I'd like.

I've been experimenting with Parry builds, TF, etc. All lack sufficient consistent damage and control.

Poison is still terrible. There's nothing so far that can actually excel in Perilous that I've discovered (not that it doesn't exist, it just means I haven't discovered it). I've tried a lot of builds and seen what's out there so far. They suck.

Assassin does Single Target damage so much better, and poison / elemental mines do jack all for damage. Maybe in routine / threatening it is better relatively, but not perilous. Even flash of fire is pretty useless.

The most interesting part of the Alchemist is that Elemental mines benefit from dagger masterwork effects, and can trigger things like hidden blades when the appropriate off-hand is used. This is very RNG dependent though, and I doubt intended (i.e. they may take it out if BW decides to put resources into taking it out). Since it is extremely gear & chance dependent, I have a lot of difficulty reccommending Elemental mines except to experiment with.

Alchemist is not reliable at all. She's very volatile and chance based. Because of those reasons, I can't favorite her, as I need consistent results.

I've tested many builds with alchemist.
Builds which for 100% worked for me was build which I would called "assassin" build
Twin fangs, shadowstrike, knockout bomb and stealth. Yes assassin has higher damage but with sleep effect and 2 detonators damage is enough to 1 shot on perilous everything ( for a guy like me having around 30 promotions in each stat).
What is even more fun is knockout bomb + twin fangs. No more problem with missing, sleeping target = not moving target. Great build for RTC, you can control him and make some sleep+twin fang (alchemist always have knife in the shadows and even can have this crit vs sleep passive) and it can hit very hard.

So yes for me this build works pretty good but it has one major flaw. It's not that much "alchemist" like...

Now I'm trying some setup with frost flask.

Drasca, have you tested/looked at ambush ability on Duelist? It's great skill but I can't figure out this bonus damage. It's about attacking Duelist? Attacking someone? Be in the middle of animation of attack? Sometimes it feels like random skill.

Yeah, some of my friends swear by it, and I do like it, but not as much as the other builds (this thread is about what I like after all). The bonus damage is dependent on the enemy targetted on someone else, or more specifically not targetting you. It works great with warrior's TTD which constantly refreshes taunt away from you. Spam Ambush all day against the Dragon.

I've had bad first impression on this skill. Like "wut...1,8k damage!? still it's distance closer...". After that 7k damage number showed up and I've got in love with it.
Flank attack from the closing distance perspective, mobility + some hard hitter. It was skill I was looking for.
Duelist is really well made class. I can't really tell that some ability is bad, useless etc. Every one has some uses and main problem is that you have 4 slots :)

Haha yeah. Been taking Ambush more seriously again. Quite nice when there's a Katari around. Not so nice without allies stealing attention. The Parry version is better for solo play.

I updated my builds to include an Ambush duelist. It rocks more now that I know it can launch me in a forward dash. Ranged and Dagger Izzy's are still a bit at odds with each other if it not for Saavy.

I just wish she had more outfits. Oh I would decorate Izzy so much (even though armor takes up inventory space  )

Regarding your archer build, how come you dont have opportunity knocks? wouldnt the cooldown reduction be quite good for long shot spamming?

Edit: Its under my impression that this also counts for your own crits, making it even better.

Puh, thought I'd missed something.

On another note, what do you think of the hunter? I've had a lot of fun with stealth and Leaping Shot, but I dont find this very efficient for perilous. Can't really see why I would play hunter over archer, if you dont count the "fun" factor. Any input?

Note how there's no hunter build listed here. It is not listed as one of my favorites, because it is not. The recent buffs have helped him quite a bit, but OK and AL are still overwhelmingly more powerful and time efficient. Anything signifigant the Hunter can do, the Archer can do better, outside of very trivial things like poison challenge achievements.

I'd rather pull a level 1 archer to 12 in one perilous game, and then play with an effective level 12 Archer, than take a level 16+ Hunter for the next few games.

Archer's Mark of Death alone signifigantly contributes toward time-saving hunting Dragons. Between Leaping shot, OK and cover behind an archer, and Mark of Death, an Archer can potentially drop the Dragon in the first landing. The Hunter cannot say the same, and has no place in my teams except as the character to be carried.

The same is true for Alchemist. Luka's skill trees are ill conceived and hap-hazardly designed. They work fine for threatening and below, but fail to scale up with Perilous difficulty in part due to how the game mechanics operate (her elemental mine effects of chill & burning do not stack).

She is not welcome in my party without much stronger kits carrying her.

Appreciate your responses. Since I'm pretty new (only at 16/17/17 atm) it helps a lot.

I do enjoy archer, assassin and elementalist a lot. I can do perilous with them no problem. I do have a problem with warriors tho, especially templar and lego. I see a lot of skilled players go without shield block, and I have no idea how they dont die almost instantly. I seem to have a big problem building guard without it.

Is this a gear issue or skill issue? Always looking to improve my game.
