Hunter was the wrong choice for team composition & map at that time. In a different team composition, it could've been the right choice, or a reasonable one at least. In general, I would still prefer an archer most of the time given two bow kit options of equal level and gear.
Stealth rogues have it bad right now. There is no stealth to be had in FC, and that's where the coolest toys are.
Maybe I'm noob but I don't really see any point in LoSing and corner pulling on normal maps on perilous. If you act fast and attack spawn fast you don't need it.
And stealth classes are made for it. Go stealth, attack those annoying ones from back.
Wouldn't the upgraded Spike damage and multiple spike traps be useful here? ES for sure, but at the same time Archer would do this better given OK. That's how badly imbalanced the power shift is away from Hunter. Archer even does the Hunter's featured "traps" better than Hunter does, because he can do way more of them. Need to test if Archer can do multiple traps of course... but if so... even more reason not to use Hunter as-is.
Yes you can spawn multi traps but hunter does not have cooldowns for it, you would get 2 at once.
Still toxic cloud can be useful on those checkpoints, if somebody really care about it's lame damage.
Hunter has no speed skills, and cannot shoot around corners. He'd never catch up to archer's lance or allies with speed buffs charging past him attacking while moving. I think he'd have to take hook and tackle in order to possibly be on par just getting to enemies.
Playing batman is fun (hook and tackle, leaping shot, throwing knives, stealth-- maybe replaced with explosive shot) , but not nearly as time efficient as others -- thus he's a carried class because I know I could be clearing soooo much faster elsewhere . . or providing better CC, or better support
Stealth gives speed bonus, enough on normal maps to be first and to start from back of group when other party start from front. Hook is a bad choice, no synergy with stealth, stagger from attack sometimes fails and you can get hit.
FC is map which even makes also classes like necro harder to play. Aside from larger groups it's more about continuous spawning of them.
On normal maps you see a group, you can blow it and that's it, sometimes some 2 mobs show and that's all.
So necro can use spirit bomb and just forget about it and go to another group of enemies. Of FC you need to kill all the time, to be effective necro should try to aim with walking bomb on stacked targets and this make this mage way less effective because her defense sucks.
The same problem has hunter. Upgraded explosive shot with stealth can obliterate group of enemies on normal map. Stealth gives you required time and space to aim it good. After that group is dead and you go to another. On FC another mobs spawn right next to you and this hurts hunter the most, because he sucks at cooldown and it's made around short burst, not high aoe sustain damage.
FC changed a lot in gaming and build made around "camping" are the best in general. You favourite ele build, fire mine, wall, barrier and firestorm is great for FC. On normal maps it's just decent. Groups are smaller, firewall isn't that "great", fire mine isn't that handy and even rogue type enemies aren't that many.
Best rogue for FC is Isabela, archer also sucks there. If you use cover it's hard to use longshot in proper way. Reduced damage of longshot makes it quite impossible to kill with single longshot. This makes huge agrro on archer so he can't stay to shot another one without being with barrier all the time.
On dragon fight the same. Vs dragon itself longshot sucks. Damage is from explosive shot and leaping shot (so here hunter is the same) and you can't even use those fast cooldown because dragon chickens so fast that it won't work most of the time.
On dragon babies you either need KOB or you are screwed. Archer tend to get aggro a lot, strangely for this fight hunter is also better, stealth would help him a lot.
Archer will be good on FC in one scenario. With keeper in party and her static cage. Spammable detonator + stacking targets for explosive shot and enhanced damage from leaping shot make him good choice there. For everything else Isabela just owns and nobody can be even close to her.
